james26 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 That was ment to say there must be something wrong lol
tom_gr7 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 what fuel do you use mate? i think mine drinks it in stop start town driving.
james26 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Just the standard tesco unleaded :( this can't be normal milage
tom_gr7 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Just the standard tesco unleaded :( this can't be normal milage try using super unleaded. When i first got my scooby the avg mpg was about 27/28, i presumed the previous owner used normal fuel. I've always put vpower in it and get about 33mpg.
james26 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I used to use it in the wrx sti then when I got this I just used the normal stuff lol so 200 miles to a full tank is normal then?:(
tom_gr7 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I used to use it in the wrx sti then when I got this I just used the normal stuff lol so 200 miles to a full tank is normal then? :( I'm afraid i cant really answer that, although I would expect more than 200 miles to a tank of 60ltrs.
JusNoGood Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 try using super unleaded. When i first got my scooby the avg mpg was about 27/28, i presumed the previous owner used normal fuel. I've always put vpower in it and get about 33mpg. Same here. I am logging all my petrol and mileage at the moment. I noticed a drop in MPG when I had to get low quality super at BP then Esso! So I'd have thought standard unleaded would be even worse. The Mpg jumped up again on my second tank of VPower.
JusNoGood Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 I'm afraid i cant really answer that, although I would expect more than 200 miles to a tank of 60ltrs. I'm getting around 200 for 30ltrs in my 2004 WRX
james26 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 So many different answers I'm getting it the normal am out of miles then some saying it could be maf and lombar
JusNoGood Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well why don't you try a few tanks of VPower and if you don't notice a difference take it to a specialist :)
JusNoGood Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Not sure where you are mate but I can't recommend Dan at Surrey Subaru Specialists enough. I'm sure peeps can recommend a closer specialist if that's no good ;)
james26 Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well I'm hoping that it can be sorted in house step dad's a mechanic he seems to know his stuff lol so I maybe picking his brains and tools lol
JusNoGood Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Well I'm hoping that it can be sorted in house step dad's a mechanic he seems to know his stuff lol so I maybe picking his brains and tools lol If that's the case I'd twist his arm to have a look anyway :)
Jonny b Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 That's shocking! I get more than 200 miles out of £40 when the wife's in the car lol
Jonny b Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Admittedly I can get a lot less than 200 out of a full tank when on my own! Lol Generally I get 90/100 miles to £30 of vpower ɑnd that's around town!
stants Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Earlier cars have smaller tanks, I've never put more than 50 litres in, did you wait for the light to come on before re filling ? The gauges are well out too, I can do another 30 miles when it says empty and thats before the low light shows, May as well reset the ecu when you've filled it up with vpower too Sent from my SM-T210
Gaulson Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 In my WRX I get around 280 out of a tank and that's my country lane driving to and from work. Not thrashing but there are a lot of corners to slow down for then straights to get the speed up on. I got 310 with one tank, had a long run at some point. Boost gauge and pod arrived today.... excited to get it fitted :P
Gaulson Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Tbh I think I could do better because I think my MAF is slowly dying on me which "hopefully" is making it use more fuel
tom_gr7 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Found a set of Black diamond grooved discs on eBay for a very good price... hovering over the buy it now button... damn you eBay!
