Scooby Pete
Which do reckon is the toughest track? Bit hard to measure as you can't drive the TT at full chat.
Tlag
Having driven the Ring but not the TT, it's hard to say. However, I would say the TT is the harder as it's narrower with no run offs. Although, because it's narrower, you wouldn't get so many trying to overtake.
Gambit
As said above really. But I would still be happy to drive around the TT track even with it being open just to say I have :)
Jay762
Tough one that - I would go with the TT due to the built up areas being more immediate but unfortunately they have both bitten people many times over the years
Dogconker
Depends really, I imaging on a motorbike the Nurburgring is very wide. The TT track is the opposite. For cars I would say the TT track is harder purely because it's not really suitable for racing cars on unlike the nurburgring. So I guess I'd go with the TT track. But the TT track isn't really a circuit so for the toughest actual race track id say the ring Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
stants
I've driven the tt and what you can drive at full speed is brilliant, you just cant work out how the bikes can carry so much speed through certain corners, theses also alot more to hit and go badly wrong everythings so close to the side of the road. Like dog says hard to compare. But as the tt course is 3 times longer but not a race track. With he ring in theory you can go with a pocket full of cash and pound round until you get you 'perfect' lap. For the cost of a ferry and fuel I'd recomend visiting the isle of man lovely place plus you can drive without fear of getting a ticket :-D
st4lk3r
I'm sorry to say that but deaths explains which one is toughest. She kills so many best racers the message is very clear. TT track like a beautiful killer, she claims to many life, but no racer have courage to leave her :(
Dogconker
I agree in part with what you're saying but I don't think death rate is a fair assessment if which is harder. The reality is on the nurburgring most racers are surrounded by a big metal box reinforced with loads of tubing. On the isle if man TT most racers are surrounded by a leather onsie and a metal bucket with a hole in the front to see out of. Not many people die in cars in Motorsport compared to motorcycles. I don't believe anyone has died on the circuit during TT weekend in a car (though obviously mad Sunday doesn't count. I'm on about official laps). Not saying nurburgring is more or less dangerous, it's just difficult to compare which is the harder track. Most deadly, agreed definitely TT track, but is it the most demanding track ? st4lk3r
Nurburgring Like a lightweight championship, TT heavyweight. TT is winner but Nurburgring has some advantage. I'm not a German or Brit and not a racist :D But Germans acting like they are king of the auto world. Nurburgring one part of the this idea. Nurburgring has some advantages over the TT. it's in a country which is home of the big car makers. Nurburgring has facilities for teams, easy to find other makers and coorperate, easy to access, ads hotels vs vs vs. This factors contribute to Nurburgring's fame. Why Japaense car makers testing cars in Nurburgring? Because this place familiar for everyone just famous. They can built in Japan, but no one will care. Nurburgring now benchmark area for this makers. Good or bad, no one care. But when we talk about pure driving experience TT wins. -in my opinion :) Almost every car guy drives fast in Nurburgring, bu in TT? i don't think so. This photo explains everthing :D Sorry for rude words :( :)
Dogconker
Personally I think nurburgring and TT not lightweight and heavyweight, it's more like party and mental asylum. Nurburgring is a challenge where people with a certain amount if skill can have a lot of fun with some danger. The TT is for people who have not so much lost the will to live but who now believe they can't die. You'd have to believe that to do ride a crotch rocket around it. I take this view, in a car I'd happily drive the nurburgring at speed, I wouldn't ride round my local car park on a motorbike, let alone the TT curcuit
