Gambit Posted September 10, 2014 Share Posted September 10, 2014 One thing I can't fault my MOT tester for they seem to use common sense which I like it was the rear licence plate bulb on mine didn't even give me a warning past it and said it's blown that was it :D And I was under the impression if you have a light on the car with a bulb out it was a fail under the new rules regardless of location Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mr B Posted September 10, 2014 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Yep front fogs are not part of MOT test in terms of them working & not listed in lighting section of old or new MOT manual. If lens was broken, hanging out etc it could fail but easily fixed for MOT by removing lens or taping over them. Dogconker Posted September 10, 2014 Share Posted September 10, 2014 You would be ok to blank the front fog though as I understand, as there is no legal requirement for a front fog light. I had a Landrover with spots and a blown bulb, because I put covers on then it didn't fail the MOT as they were not useable.
