  1. Ahhh that's better, I'll get a box or something for it and get it weighed to get a rough price for post, I'm thinking courier might be cheaper but I'll get both post office and courier quotes and let you know
  2. Sorry, 1 gearbox 2 clutches lol And your welcome bud, keep us posted
  3. I see what your saying but they only put a baffled sump in track cars and that's to keep oil from slipping up the side when cornering so if going up and down was going to cause it they would put baffled sumps on from the factory, also they do tests on bumpy surfaces, much more vigorous than speed bumps, when they are developing a new model, again if they had issues they would make suspension differently or baffle the sumps
  4. And welcome to the club, hope you enjoy your stay
  5. My mates bug wrx has a blob sti bottom end and the standard 5 speed wrx box, after squeezing 418bhp out of it and smashing 2 gearboxes he's now converting to a 6 speed box, the bug, blob and hawk are all interchangeable with front and rear panels so I would assume they share the same chassis meaning all engines from them models should be interchangeable too
  6. I've found 2 in the garage but non look like the one you posted, there's also the crank with some still attached Here's a pic
  7. i would advise the same as Jay said, let them take you to court, or pay the bill to avoid court, and then take them to court for leaving the car on an unsafe state, i'm not sure all the legal ins and outs of it all but i'm sure your solicitor would have advised this? i know there is a site called pepipoo that i have used for motoring cases that have gone to court but not sure if they deal with anything car related as mine was just for a parking ticket and i know they do speeding tickets, there are specialist solicitors on there for these types of cases so they may know how to help you, worth a shot, and that's a free forum too
  8. yup you have a like from me too now
  9. i've had braided hoses on some of my VW's in the past and it's surprising what a difference it makes, mine were goodridge ones, not cheap but worth the expense
  10. i'm sure the light would be on by now too, i'd not worry to much about it tbh speedbumps have been a pain in my **** for the last 10 years as all my cars have been sump scrapers, one of the benefits of having the scoob is that i can just glide over them now, i've never heard of a bump causing engine damage from just driving over them, if you hit one at silly speeds and the car is lowish you can crack the sump which obviously starves the engine of oil, they do damage to suspension over time but you'll get more damaged car parts from hitting a pot hole than a speed bump, and if you do damage the car from pot holes theres a 75% chance you can claim from the council for it
  11. did you know that even if a copper is in uniform, if you ask them for their warrant card and they don't produce it then there's bugger all they can do to you, basically you can walk away from whatever you have been accused of doing
  12. yeh i have a few date rape drugs stashed in the kitchen cupboard, i never thought of that, they could do with a dusting off as i've been using the beat them to submission routine lately
  13. dig a bit deeper, it is true lol, not had chance to look yet as the garage door makes a racket when it opens and the wifes in bed from being on a night shift, she's up at dinner time so will have a gander for it then ;)
  14. would anybody be interested if i started posting the daily deals on a thread in here or not? i don't want to waste space by posting it if theres not anybody going to take advantage of them once in a while let me know what you guys think please
  15. the guys got some serious talent, what does he do for a living, he could probably get a job doing movie stuff full time, not sure how you go about it but if he was to send a few of his creations to film producers and tell them what they are made from he could be in with a shot at the big time
  16. looks like a good base to start with
  17. Sounds like a good plan, are you doing a photographic build too, like each mod being done, I'll be keen to follow that And I too swapped my mk4 golf for a classic impreza, and this is my first impreza too lol
  18. it's fine on my laptop, not looked on my phone though that's inspired me to do a vid of mine now, i'll have to go park somewhere to do it though as the neighbours don't like me vibrating their houses lol that should be fine on the motorway without the bung, it's loud but not overly so
  19. as said in the other thread, if you want the stock parts just get me a pic of what you require and i will dig em out the garage and post to you for the cost of the postage
  20. welcome aboard pal, have a look around, sit down and enjoy the true randomness that is the S.O.C.
  21. that's one that needs winding, see the grooves? that one doesn't, no grooves
  22. also a brake flex stopper as the bulkheads quite thin and flexes under braking as for winding back, general rule is if the piston has 2 groves on it then it will need winding, if its flat all round it's just a push
  23. it helps if you have a friend or 2 who are police officers, especially one you've had telling you all the details through his training, especially at the end when he says "all the stuff i told you, don't ever repeat it, we aren't allowed to tell anyone" er...ok mate my lips are sealed ^_^
  24. i've used in car dvd's for a trip to cambridge to see my cousin, they were only on loan but they are fantastic at keeping the kids quiet, we were going to borrow them for the drive to dover then from calais to paris when we went, sods law the people we borrowed them off were away when we were going so had to listen to 2 kids and a wife alllllllll the !Removed! way, next on my mod list is some in car dvd players OI i resemble that remark
  25. the man has some skills to do that with them materials, imagine what he could do with the right gear top effort
