WOW been a while since I've been on a forum like that lol, I've been banned off one forum for doing what I have done here so far, post what I believe to be helpful posts, I have 51 posts on said forum and only 2 are still visible Nice to be able to relax again -

Sorry but unless Steve is a fake name for Lisa or another female I'm out -
Have a look underneath, it could just be the heatshields that are rattling, sounds like that as you say it's tinny, they usually rust at each end but sit on top of the pipe rattling with vibrations

Welcome aboard fella, that smile won't budge till you get rid I'm afraid, you learn to live with people always asking why your grinning like a Cheshire (no pun intended) cat lol

Carbs sound awesome on any n/a car but they need setting up on a regular basis, motorbike throttle bodies are a cheaper option in most ways, once set up they won't need fettling every hour and you can get better gains with them over carbs, the problem comes when your fitting to a flat 4,the inlets are a unique design and would need some serious custom fabrication, if I was lookingfor a cheap power option for an n/a impreza iI'd look at an emerald ecu/qpeng or any other stand alone ecu, then get a supercharger from a merc kompressor the M62, they are designed for 2.5l to 4.0l engines but I've seen them on 2.0 engines, they are cheap as chips on ebay, if you do want one, get one with the Teflon coated blades, they are the later more robust units

That's an odd one to be honest pal, welcome to the forum btw, it could be an air leak somewhere, does it boost ok? Do you have a gauge to see how much boost your getting? Any mods? UK or import?

This is the standard cats off a non turbo sport classic, as you can see they are inline And this is the rest of the scrapyard/garden
-
You can get the car mapped with maf deletes and lambda deletes too, also as for mot, a high flow sports cat should work ok but for the cost I'd go decat but keep the old cats to fit for mot time I have a set of cats in the back, I'll go take a pic for you

i don't work so i sit on the net all day everyday soaking up random crap from everywhere, some things stick, others vanish forever, its anybodies guess what i'll come out with next lol -
decat generally means removal of the cat(s) and yes the forester like the impreza has 2, if you are to remove it then here some info 1. it will fail the mot for not having one on visual inspection 2. it will cause the car to over/under fuel as the lambda won't be reading emissions right 3. due to the above it will fail an emmisions check i have none on mine just a straight through pipe, i get round the mot by slipping the tester a few extra quid and he passes it, some will NOT do that, some will, to get round the emmisions side of it, for the ecu andyway, you can get a lambda spacer that will let you mount the sensor further from the inside of the exhaust meaning it won't get as strong an emmisions read something like this will do there are some that sit at 90 degrees so they don't get in the way of other parts

heres a completely useless fact for you the ink on a genuine englich note will never be dry due to the material and ink used, if you take a note (20 is best due to colour) and a white piece of paper, now rub the darkest part of the purple on the paper and if genuine you should see purple ink on the paper -
yeh that will be fine, theres an over flow pipe on all cars to allow the excess to be dispersed if need be
-
welcome to the forum and please please PLEASE get some pics up of the group N beast

I nearly bought some R222 a few years back but I spend enough as it is, she's not keen on me getting stuff from the I want shelf, it has to be the I need shelf lol
-
the R222 is a very good wax, theres tons out there from basic to hardcore, prices differ accordingly too, if seen small pots of wax for over 2k before now, swissvax is a damn fine product but you pay the price, http://www.swissvax.co.uk/product_detail/wax_products/your_exclusive_divine_2 it's all trial and error, i have accumulated so many products over the years, what works well for 1 car maker/colour may not for another, i was an AG only man till i started using other products, some cars only like AG, some only like Megs, some don't like either, this is why i am at the polishing booth so often, always asking him what works best with what car lol
-
if you don't go for a kestrel das6 and you have never used a machine before it MUST be a DA as you can do serious damage with a rotary, i don't know of anybody that has done any damage with a DA, also the pads you use make a difference, cutting pads and compounds, for just a good polishing just waffle pads with something like autoglym super resin polish would do, there are guides all over detailing work for getting more info as it would take too long for me to type everything lol http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=63859
-
yeh just water is fine, it's ok to run just water most of the time, coolant just aids it in working
-
i agree with that comment to a degree, but i've never seen an S201 in the metal nor an S202 and you have an S202 grille badge in the shots
-
are you planning swapping the engine from a n/a to a turbo in the green one picture on page 3? the reason i ask is, that's an 8v not a 16v, in which case it's most likely a loom swap in the whole front of the car, behind dash and all that lot, i could be wrong but i would imagine as the 8v engine is very different to a 16v then you wouldn't have the right wires to just plug and play with an ecu, i would definatley look into it further with a company that will know more
-
i have a few engine throttle bodies knocking about the garage and i'm thinking of getting my mate to fabricate me one of these for my exhaust http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QTP-QTEC25-2-25-2-5-Electric-Exhaust-Cutout-Valve-/400508389601?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d402908e1 i don't need to stop flow altogether or divert down another none baffled pipe just let some noise through instead of all, it'd also make motorways more bearable
