  3. hi steve gonna get you the size and colour etc, how much will this cost me?
  4. i did the just tighten them up and it felt like it was on tip toes, so i did them again on ramps at 40nm with the weight on the wheels and its better

  6. there's a place accross the road thats got good food and a good size car park i;ll go over tomorrow and ask i can do without all the hassle
  7. where do i get large (SUBARU OWNERSCLUB. COM) decals from ? or can i get my own made up? i want to get them on the sunvisor and other prominent places but they look very small to me, ive a few places i need to fill on my wagon and a couple i need to remove , i will use the scooby wagon as advertising space for work and scooby club's and anything else of interest other reason is the previous owner had issues with someone and they key'd down one side and made a real mess so decals hide most of it and it get's the scoob clubs noticed too ;)

  13. CLASSIC UK 2000 Wagon with it being a non turbo ive gone for Reconditioned 4 pot calipers (i reconditioned them, i do it for my job) new seals and polished internals where they tend to get tarnished over time. GRAHAM GOODE RACING DISCS AND PADS HEL FRONT BRAIDED HOSE (i get a good deal on these) New Brake Fluid ( no need to go mad on racing fluid) good set of rubber (205/40/17's f452 falken's) have always had falkens on my scoob (the past 14 yrs) saloon so am changing them on my wagon soon. drums on rear just re faced drum and cleaned shoes, painted drum with heat resistant black paint looks good for now upgrade later to twin-pots.
  14. i can do the 4 pots if they need reconditioning, just doing some now and i can get the HEL brake hose to match these are the ones i have on the wagon, before and fitted to car
  15. i know a good caliper reconditioner................. ME ;)
  16. hi all if you're a new member in the north west could you please message me so i can find out who there is in my area and who wants to meet up and do more etc. i don't want any private details just a way of contacting you all seeing as we're all here for the same reason lets get a few more cars to the meeting the neighbours are starting to talk!
  17. my reason for asking was the car had developed a shaking and judder and the feel of it bouncing a couple of days after the MOT so with me thinking can't be anything serious eg ball joints ,major suspension rubbers, discs, calipers etc i decided to make a checklist of things that i had done and try and fault find via facebook scooby sites etc so i had reconditioned or bought new the following items, new discs and pads, reconditioned 4 pot calipers, new brake fluid, M.O.T'd last week. no issues in the steering ,ball joints, track rod ends etc . the problem is a slight wobble and vibration on front end when breaking from 70mph with firm foot pedal no issues if i feather the brakes to slow down, stops in straight line if i let go of steering wheel. front o/s strut has a light mist of oil on strut body under pirch rim engine looks to move a little to easy on the mountings compared to my other classic. i even swapped the wheels over from my other classic scoob same wheel but they are 7jj with 205-35-17's all matching f452 falken's almost new. the wheels that are on the wagon are 7.5jj Fronts 225/45/17 michelin pilots with 3.5mm of tread REARS 7.5jj 225/45/17 continental 2 run flats with 5mm of tread all balanced last week all with even tread wear .the struts are std uk 2000 wagon spec and they are a tad soft. when driving the front of the car feels odd but i cant put my finger on whats at fault. The suspension will be swapped over next week for a set of adjustable open purch ohlins with matching springs. thats if i can fix the vibrating and shimmying its doing. SO as of today lets re-cap on morning judder, vibration and shaking on my classic 2000 uk wagon i have now replaced the front drop links and the D bushes on the anti roll bar with totally new std items and am glad to say most of the shaking and vibration has gone the rest might be down to the weeping strut and the tyres being worn down to 3.5mm on the fronts. the braking judder has almost gone now very slight almost not noticeable. So people if you had any of the symptoms try the above it could work for you too next week its OHLINS TIME anyone had a set ?
  18. thanks for that, did them this morning and i have to say much better.
  19. ive just replaced my front drop links and the anti roll bar rubbers on my uk wagon 2000 non turbo, what's the torque settings for the drop links cant find anything in my CD-MANUAL that refers to my 2000 wagon, only P1'S and STI'S. also do you torque them when the wheels are on the floor like (old school) back in the day.?
  20. hello everybody i'm Gaz and ive subarus.......... no its not a ailment , It all started back in the 80's when all good stuff happened according to the TV that is, well back then i was introduced to opel mantas and one thing lead to another , 10 yrs later and i according to the gospel's ' in the house of the lord there are many mantas' i managed to have about 11 of them still got two in my garage now and during this time i was Area Rep for the OPEL MANTA CLUB for 10 yrs but there came a time when i wanted something a little different, newer in fact so one day while wandering round ROCHDALE's red light area (railway station) i saw a 'sign' no its not god again, it was in fact SUBARU it was over the Mclure Performance Center and it was then when i was taken to the WRX/STI side . Then there she was 1995 wrx/sti saloon, 406 silver, 40,000 miles, mint condition thats when it had me AND LATER I OWNED IT. So here i am 15 yrs later still with same car + a uk wagon of the non turbo 2000 LTR variety and ive volunteered my time as coordinator for the (NORTHWEST AREA) . i don't want to give the impression i know everything about the subarus 'which i don't ' but i do want to try and help people out if they have any scoob problems, try and get a good monthly pub meet going to discuss car issues - or other projects you might have going attend local shows now and again ( japfest 2 / the big one / tatton park / woodvale / trafford park classic just ideas guys) get a good knowledge base of local companies and garages that we can use what can we offer to the club as a members (what skills do we have to offer each other) you know for mates rate's jobs etc. so seeing as i don't know who's in the North West could anybody that's interested in getting involved in Subaru Club Activities message me and lets go from there. thanks gaz
