  1. They cable joiners are a great idea keep that on mind aswell πŸ€”
  2. Managed to change thermostat and coolant (when i was supposed to be working πŸ€«πŸ˜‚) seams to be fine now so it may have just been an air pocket when I removed a coolant hose for access when fitting inlet pipe ( left it off overnight by accident) old themostat looked ok no crud build up or anything just changed it anyway gonna boil the old one in water to see if it is faulty just so i know for reference
  3. Good point from savage there always look into a tuner before using them πŸ‘
  4. As to how much worse the 2.5 is im not sure just know theres been alot of failures. The 2.0L is generally more reliable but again depends how its been looked after and if/how its been modded they are not invincible but ive had 2 go over 100kmi and been reliableπŸ‘. My advice would be to test drive one because they are genuinely a great driving experience. Plenty people use wrx’s and stis as daily and just keep it serviced regular. Being handy with a spanner and ratchet can save you a fortune as-well because the basic serving on these cars are fairly easy. Your call your cash if it was me id punt the 4 figure repair bill daily and get a scooby but im obsessed with my subaru πŸ˜‚ Its fun practical and looks and sounds brilliant
  5. You might get a used sports cat from breakers there jdm solutions and mb developments you could try on facebook or have a look on ebay. You can buy sports cat new from likes of scoobyworld or scoobywork and a few more not very cheap new though.
  6. You can get it a licensed map like ECUtek or whatever its called around Β£500 or you can get an opensource map thats what I done live on the road was Β£240. I dont know what the difference is entirely but ive had no issues with my map. Best bet email/ phone some tuners nearby you for prices n that
  7. Jdm sti will have a better engine, i think its 2L aswell instead of 2.5L on uk model which make it Β£500 a year to tax. The gb270 is a Wrx with prodrive bits it is a limited edition but can probably get an sti for same or not much more, jdm does make you more cool scientifically πŸ˜‚
  8. The 3 port just gives better control over the boost for the mapper i dont think its essential however, it was recommended to me to have one fitted before mapping my car. Good luck mate πŸ‘
  9. Id definetely add an uppipe to this list mate Even a catless sti one will be better and a 3 port boost solenoid maybe all that looks ok as long as you have a remap planned as soon as you have fitted these parts. Be careful you dont push too much power through your 5 speed gearbox, general opinion is its fine for 350bhp max but bear in mind your transmission is getting old now good luck find a good mapper and you should be have a pretty good result from your upgrades.
  10. Try looking up csk autoworx On face book hes in lanarkshire guy called cammy he should be able to fix it.
  11. Sorry im in scotland so I cant suggest any decent garages down south im sure a member closer to you can help with that, id probably guess your looking at around Β£800 - Β£1k for repair thats what id expect up here anyway Good luck πŸ‘
  12. Aw man lucyfi think im in the same boat as you 😩 you tried the oil cooler o ring yet? Or is it clearly Seeping from the head? Im not sure what model you have but ive heard for my 04 Wrx a headgasket kit from icp is about £200ish. But its the labour that will sting cause its engine out job. A full rebuild kit is £500 so ill probably go that route but its gonna suck paying a manchanic to do the work
  13. What 02 sensor did you swap it with? I had a quick scan on other forums and theres a few people saying they had same problem until they put a genuine sensor in. Have you checked the exhaust manifold for any leaks?
  14. Pretty sure it will be all wheel drive easy to check just look under the back of it rear differential quiet easy to spot
  15. Keep it well serviced and check Fluids and oil regularly and enjoy it most of all πŸ‘
  16. Yeah its no problem man im just paranoid its my HG one should never google πŸ˜‚ if it is im screwed cause it will be worth picket change and ill need to walk everywhere lol
  17. I know this is easy for me to say as I'm not involved emotionally but If it was me going by your description of your car needs I would sell it on.
  18. Its cool actually looked at my owners manual for a change πŸ˜‚
  19. Do you know how much coolant id need for a refill and whats the best to use? I went on opie oils to have a look and it says motul stuff but when I looked at the info pretty much every manufacturer except subaru was listed lol
  20. Sounds brilliant no wonder there wearing earplugs lol
  21. Thought it would be good for those who don't have this game to share this video some interesting history on subaru here
  22. Sorry man im not sure how to change them my key is completely different Just a small screw on mine and not keyless. You tried a youtube search see if any one has done a video on it.
  23. Dont think 8 months is right unless you lock your car about 30 times a day lol. Maybe just cheap batteries where did ypu get them
