  1. didnt buy it as it's like a £40 kit just to tell you your HG is !Removed!, just took it to my mechanic, insta pic and video here for reference.
  2. sniff test?, that color changing liquid.
  3. Same boat that i was in, no oil in water/water in oil, no bad smoke out of exhaust ect, had it hydrocarbon tested then boom, exhaust gases found in the coolant, was the headgaskset. So i would get it hydrocarbon tested before wasting any more time.
  4. Mine used to stutter after 4k RPM but not as bad as yours, it wouldn't do it as bad and wouldn't happen all the time, I pulled out my sparkies and they were bad, totally fixed the problem by changing them and pulls like a dream now, so I would suspect it's sparkies.
  5. If you've checked all the IC pipes, check the vacuum hoses. Quite common to find tears/rips in them between 80k-120k miles
  6. My car was stuttering and hesatating after 4k rpm, was scratching my head for a while about it, changed maf sensor, cam sensors ect. Decided to change the spark plugs, they were in bad condition and looked old and it fixed the problem, pulls like a dream, so if you haven't had your sparkies out yet, do it!
  7. Crisp Tuning in Wakefield ( Obviously very far from Hampshire ), whether you'd like to make the trek with it over there or tow it is another problem 🙂
  8. I payed 1.7k for my engine rebuild after one of my head gaskets failed, 20-22 hours labour + new seals and cometic headgaskets.

  10. bought a smaller plate that will show white around every part of the letters when in the holder, just to be on the safe side.
  11. ah right, its a perrin usa license plate holder that came with my pulley cover, so I bought a 305mm x 152mm plate to fit with it (had to dremel it a bit).
  12. Should I risk putting it on the front and keep the other plate on the dash or something?
  13. Cant figure out how to get the horn working as im new to this, can anyone help? Take a look at the uploaded images.
  14. Forged? No, this repair+parts is about 3.5k and im already paying an arm and a leg for insurance so I don't want to rinse my bank account 😂 I also don't intend to keep the car longer than 2 years.
  15. yeah nearly everything is done, hopefully have it back on monday, was a cracked head gasket. So now fitted with mls gaskets and uprated bolts, stage 2 clutch, new stainless steel UEL headers as the old one had a crack causing a blowing sound, fully decatted, remap to about 380HP.
  16. oh how wrong I was, a few days after it started overheating again, yellow plastic coolant cap flying off everytime I drove it ect. Lets just say the engine is out of the car after they did a test on the coolant 😂
  17. Replaced it with a blitz 1.3 bar (blue) no more hissing, also the garage i took it to for a thermostat replacement broke the plastic yellow coolant cap and would pop off when driving, replaced that too and everythings good now 🙂
  18. Getting it checked 8th march as that was the earliest he could do, not driving far until then, but yeah it seems fine now, the old 0.9 bar one had what looks to be a very small bend in one of the hooks and would hiss (not sure if the hissing is normal or not).
  19. looks to have done the trick , coolant levels fine, oil looks fine, no more temp fluctuation (praying it stays like this now 🙏).
  20. yeah i understand the risk, just thought of something else though, i've seen online that the STi's came with 1.3~ bar radicator caps? mine is only a 0.9 bar which could be releasing too much pressure in the coolant system right?
  21. Went out for an hours drive today, both fans are working, car temp fluctuates inbetween the two lines in the middle and the odd time it will go over the line just a smidge into hot, doesn't max out though now.
  22. went out for fuel today and drove normally for 20ish mins and the temps stayed normal, decided to thrash it for about 30 secs and temps got to 3/4 on the gauge, pulled over, no more smoke from radiator and temps went to normal after a min, seems okay now?
