Is there a renewed interest in this at all after Japshow? I could be convinced to go depending on how many more are...
-
Yea that's where I saw it after catching up on some Japshow posts. Proper gutted I didn't see it sooner, would have loved to do the route on Saturday.
-
You too Gambit! Was disappointed you look nothing like your profile pic but hey ho, can't have it all lol.
-
http://www.seriesmcrae.com Anyone else going to this? Only just found out about it. Unfortunately Saturday has sold out but Sunday still sounds good. McRae's classic cars to look around, trade stands there, auctions for memorabilia etc. Sounds like we could even have a club stand if we can get enough interest. Know it's short notice but maybe be able to get a few. :) Where: Showground next to Barlows Caravan Park, Caerwys, N Wales CH7 5BH

Was a good day :) Great to finally meet some more of you and to see a lot of growth since last years meets :) .Sorry for being a bit quiet but I was quite hungover and not feeling myself until much later in the day haha. I've got a couple of photos which I'll upload soon. Haven't checked my gopro ones yet but not holding out much hope after my last ones haha.
-
Sorry mate, that's the Rotherham side. On about sheffield way. Area called catcliffe just off J33 towards Sheff like I said. Try postcode S605TR
-
The route I was looking at was coming off at J15 then along A43. Don't know if that's a bad route or not with the GP?
-
I seem to suddenly have the busiest weekend ever! Don't know if I'm even going I get time to give mine a wash nevermind anything else!
-
I'll be taking my gopro too but unfortunately don't have a spare mount :( Don't think I'll be doing a run this time either. Clutch only has so many launches in it and don't want to risk that failing when I've got myself booked in for my suspension parts fitting and setup next week. Could do some runs with a slow launch I suppose but where's fun in that?
-
Haha thinking same. And no he isn't, his real name is Gambot. A hackbot sent by Subaru to monitor us all.
-
Do it man. Give you something to compare it to when you've done the mods and see and feel what difference you've actually made :)
-
Ah, I stand corrected. I'd still say most people are fine though :) . Will still take big power for that. If youve got a car that can do it at 110 you probably know about it already lol.
-
Bring it Sunday!
-
No prob mate. Forgot to add about racing friends. You can do it but one would have to wait near the start for the other. You go down in 2 queues side by side but they move at different speeds due to spaces people leave and certain cars that go alone. So whoever reaches the front first would have to wait for the other. And just kindly ask whoever was actually next to your mate if it's ok for you to go back in, I've done it and never had a problem.

Don't worry about helmets unless you're running mega power. I'm 99% sure if it's not a open top you have to get above 120mph for helmets to be mandatory. Mines 350bhp and did it in 13.2 at 101mph. I think you need at least 450bhp, if not more if you've not had a drastic weight reduction to get 120mph on it. If I remember rightly a mate of mine with a Turbo'd and stripped CTR ran about 500bhp and he "only" got 125mph.
-
Haha yea, 645 is good with me Stants. Anytime is really though if you want to go a bit later?
-
Well if the gates open at 8 I was thinking of getting there about 9ish? So setting off - from sheffield - at 630? Or is that a bit too early for you guys? Especially since you'd have to leave even earlier than that.
-
Haha my sat nav took us around houses a bit last time but it got us there. Sorry Pete but I've bought one from Gambot (pun intentional, I still don't believe he's human) now. Thought you could make it when you found out it was the month after you though and didn't reply in the thread haha.

This is the one I've got by the way - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Orbital-Professional-Valeting-Polisher-Polishing/dp/B007CHEXSO/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434924476&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=Streetwise+orbital Cheap and cheerful but does the job brilliantly. Just buy good pads and you're set. I did extend the plug cable on mine though as it doesn't come with much. Just reached the centre of the roof with my extension next to the car. Not entirely necessary but made it easier on myself. If you end up buying one and want to do the same bring it with you to the next meet and I'll extend it for you.

Uploaded the pics - https://www.facebook.com/nick.foulstone.18/media_set?set=a.478456212304113.1073741834.100004192154481&type=3 Dave - yea mate. Use it for both. They are actually more commonly used to apply the wax, then buff off by hand. But I've got pads to do both. I give it a quick buff all round by hand afterwards still as I always end up missing little bits though. Still a hell of a lot faster than doing it entirely by hand though.

We got a trophy for coming 10th at least. Made staying later just about worth it lol BTW Dave and Tom. The auction and raffle were happening while you were still there. Like I said in my last post we just didn't know, so missed out. Was gutted. Got there just in time for the trophy haha.

Yep, the idea of it being a weekend do where you can camp over is definitely a big one. Who wouldn't want to camp over and drink for the weekend ;) I also think they should charge before the event. Like Japshow etc. once you've paid you're more committed. Should stop the majority of people who say they'll come then don't - without good reason. Need to give a shout out to Mica who did turn up too for a bit even though he was ill too. The lack of trade shows was very disappointing. But sounds like it's not their fault there. I went with over £100 to spend on the stalls and auction and there was nothing there. Speaking of the auction, I was waiting for it to happen and then found out it had already taken place but I had no idea. They could do with someone walking around with the megaphone letting us who were far away from the main tent know what was happening. But they just seemed to stay at their marque and not move. Either that or make it more condensed when there's not that many people overall who turn up as we were very thinly spread about.
-
Really bad turn out for our lot. Especially considering how many said they were coming, quite disappointing to say the least. Still had a good time though met a couple of new faces and always good seeing Dave and Tom. Great BBQ and alcohol free beer provided so big thanks to those 2 ;) We somehow managed to come 10th out of 12 in the show stand competition too. Must have been due to the diversity. Anyway I'll upload my pics later, I've gone out for a bit now lol
-
Ok Dave here's mine then :) had to go to my sisters after which is where I've taken the pic. The none STi fog covers are my cheap ones I have on in between shows and meets since my originals got stolen. That looks amazing Stants! Nope you're having a good time mate!
