  1. Nice work [emoji106] I bet it shifts off the line like a stabbed rat at 5k launch [emoji5] can't beat that just remapped feeling either [emoji33] [emoji51] [emoji12]
  2. Nice clean unabused example so hard to put a price on it tbh as there's not many clean early wrx ra's left to compare it to . Unfortunately most get broke for the cdb engine block [emoji19] Think your price is about right but you'll probably have to hold out a while to find the right buyer after a Standard clean car . Glwts
  3. Seeing as you disturbed the sender unit assembly recently, I'd double check the tank pump access plate rubber seal . Maybe seal it with some tape around the joins to see if the smell goes to see if that's the issue
  4. Shame you're not closer stants cos my old v3 has a clean jdm fuel filler neck on it and you could've offered it up
  5. Mines running fine now I've fitted the spare maf I had kicking about I mentioned the plugs as they're a tight fit and if you're not careful when fitting the new ones can sometimes end up with a crack in the porcelain Yeah I've popped a ic hose off before made my !Removed! nip too [emoji4]
  6. Sorry fella my scoobs maf died and I forgot I posted on this thread . That's a early 3 port boost solenoid set up it looks about right to me from the first video ,although it might not be a standard vac set up if it was tweeked before the remap The sensor with the orange 'ish cap on the boost solenoid bracket measures atmospheric pressure . The other black sensor on the bracket that has a vac line on it is the map sensor (manifold actual pressure ) the vac line to this on mine goes direct to inlet manifold . Is it running a aftermarket dumpvalve and if so does it seal properly ? What bar of boost does the gauge show ? Cracked porcelain on the plugs somtimes causes similar symptoms when warm
  7. Replaced the maff with a spare one I had and ..... IT'S ALIVE [emoji2] so I took it out for a dam good thrashing as punishment for misbehaving[emoji35] but arrived home half a tank of v power light and in love again [emoji7]
  8. Tried to get it running again [emoji19] Only had 40 mins by the time I got home from work to try to suss whats up . cleaned the original maf it started on the button seemed to idle better the warmer it got happy days. 2 mile round test trip and it was coughing and spluttering and definitely misfiring again. I'll try the spare maf , check the spark and whip the plugs out to find out what cylinder is missing the next chance I get .As Unfortunately the oe code read doesn't work on the apexi fc set up
  9. If I'm not pulling my car to bits or putting it back together I'm normally , surfing for scooby shiny stuff or lurking in the tech section trying to help fix someone else's scoob [emoji5] Oh I do like a bit of bf4 or far cry 4 on the ps4 as well [emoji6]
  10. Check the fuel pipes haven't got a nick in them where the jubilee clip sits (especially the return to tank and vapour line)
  11. Green label early impreza maf's are known to max out sub 370 hp (can't meter enough air flow) z32 or Q4 is the usual upgrade . I think v3 onwards they fitted bigger mafs and newage are bigger still . Fingers crossed it's the maf [emoji51] Cos otherwise it's probably electrical and I ain't no sparky , just a spanner monkey [emoji87]
  12. Na no more dents but I probably wouldn't have parked on tall wet grass if I didn't get that dent a couple of weeks ago . Just checked all the basics there and then but killed the battery trying things out. I've got a spare maf in the shed and the bateries on charge now .I just wasn't going to leave her 5 mls from home overnight and shes a bit low for my mates car transporters ramps [emoji51]
  13. Nearly ripped my splitter off putting my scoob on the back of my mates recovery truck today [emoji19] Drove my kids to their football game parked on the grass away from everyone so I didn't get anymore car park dents . 1.5 hrs later started it up to find it wouldn't idle and misfiring[emoji15] if you feather the throttle and kept it running, it was kicking out black plumes of shells finest and the pops n bangs were spooling the turbo like antilag wtf . Think it's been caused by the steam of the wrapped headers and grass combo [emoji55] It does get a bit like a swedish sauna under the bonnet if it's been raining so iv'e probably killed the maf [emoji53] Might tell the mrs that we need a z32 maf conversion/replacement asap [emoji39]
  14. If it's got a esl'd ecu did you get any paperwork saying who mapped it ? As it might be unmapped and overfuelling or on the wrong map (if it has 2 maps) Does your engine check light come on when you turn the ignition on ,is it working? The 93 jdm wrx didn't have abs or a airbag , my 94 sti hasn't . The buttons on the defis will probably be a peak hold and reset function . Show me a pic of the vacuum lines from the boost solenoid and I might be able to see if it's plumbed in right [emoji6]
  15. Most definitely and I like to protect my investment so she lets me moisturise them once a month[emoji7] It's the only thing I do like about driving with the sti suspension on our potholed roads [emoji6]
  16. And everyone says gambits a sexual deviant[emoji33] [emoji87] [emoji23]
  17. I did the bribery thing with the engine build and 6 speed ...... It ended up costing me £5 k for her new norks (@@) [emoji39] Think I'll just keep poking £40 per week into the scooby modding pot while she's not looking [emoji4]
  18. If you asked my wife I'm sure she'd find a long list of things I don't do . And I can't seem to be able to persuade the wife to release the funds for a 400hp+ turbo and a z32 maf conversion [emoji4] But I'm working on it [emoji6]
  19. That's my job I think [emoji4] Cos stu bought the coldside I had converted from top entry to front entry for my v3
  20. If the code is for a cylinder 1&2 misfire it does still sound like a electrical fault . You've ilimatenated spark plugs and coilpacks so work your way back from the coilpacks . Check the plugs are clean and without and breaks in the insulation between the coilpacks and engine loom . Also check the pins are clean and insulation around the big grey engine loom plugs , one end is near airbox and the other end is near the battery/ windscreen washer bottle . It might not show the symptoms when the maf is unplugged as the ecu might back the boost off a bit due to not receiving a signal from the maf .which would indicate a weak spark as higher boost might blow out a weak spark . It could be a injector fault overfuelling and flooding the cylinders but I wouldn't expect 2 injectors on different heads to pack up at the same time . Failing that you might have to bite the bullet and book it in for a rolling road dyno /fault find (about £50) at a reputable scooby friendly dyno/auto electrician
  21. Shame about the turbo bud , do they sell replacement cores for the vf 28 ? Or maybe a uprated billet core [emoji39] as long as you get the right version apexi it will just plug in and map [emoji6]
  22. After looking under the bonnet of my 1st scooby I bought a set of those and a quarter drive rachet set within a month [emoji4] As I think Japanese subaru mechanics must have tiny little hands and mine are like fooking great shovels [emoji5]
  23. As long as you've got a way to get the whole car safely high enough (front and back ) to clear the gearbox bellhousing you should be fine . Get some fresh gearbox oil as you'll loose the old stuff if you remove the prop and a new genuine turbo outlet gasket. I replaced the drive and propshaft seals , flywheel spigot bearing while I had the box off too . Other than the fact that scoobs use a "pull clutch " so you have to remove the clutch fork shaft to separate the box and engine they're pretty straightforward imo . I bought my 5 speed exedy pink box anti judder clutch from mark @ lateral performance (rated to 400hp) And all genuine gaskets and seals from importcarparts . I assume that you're currently running a tdo4 turbo ? If so a standard tdo4 won't be able to break the 300hp barrier Cheapest options for standard fitment turbos would probably be Tdo5's good for 350 hp Vf34 good for 340 hp Vf 23/24/28 good for 320 hp All approx depending on surporting mods of cause[emoji6]
  24. Used this code last week for some millers nano drive it meant I got a 1ltr bottle free which is well handy as I run a catch can that doesn't return to sump . Cheers tim [emoji106]
  25. They look great and pretty much the same as a uk turbo 2000 . Apart from the plastic trim half way down the sides , which would be a good idea to stop car park dents [emoji36] I assume you have a parts place that supplies rcm stuff over there as you seem to have quite a collection of rcm bit's [emoji4]
