  1. Cheers Tlag And like you I will still use it :) I can see the point about the insurance but being fined I think is wrong. It's my risk I take I've paid for the fuel it's wasting and the very small amount of tax on the the fuel <<<< one for each tax on fuel ;) So next step get some fire brigade stickers :D
  2. Can be found in the club shop for a bargain price ;) Now that is a must post up photo ;)
  3. What I mean is Service history or anything that show's what mods have been done i.e receipts for the remap and mods to make it 300HP, that sort of thing. And my advise so far is it takes along while for the grin to go away ;) Not sure how long yet as I still smile from time to time when driving about mainly daily in mine all I can say is it must be decades :D
  4. Hi mate welcome to S.O.C Nice choice of car :) please feel free to share some pictures :)
  5. Hi Welcome to S.O.C Sounds good to me mate does it come with a certificate and any paper work ? And feel free to share some pictures I like pictures especially if there off the top shelf in the local paper shop ;)
  6. I agree with both comments :D
  7. Well after a quick look it's mixed reviews some people say it will work with older cars others say it didn't work with cars before 99. I'm guessing it did work for you with the trial version. So like you said best bets to try it on the old boys car :)
  8. I think the 97 is OBD port and not OBDII so that might be a problem if the scanner is a for the 2nd Gen. Could be wrong just a thought :) will have a look now mate I have a bit of time And I have come across some work shop manuals for Forester if you are interested only down side is it's 99-04 but might still be handy
  9. You would think with the P1's even if the engine has gone it's worth rebuilding. Seeing the cost of them already, and one of my fav classisc shapes
  10. I have Torque pro And this is the scanner was £15 when I first bought it :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-Torque-OBD2-OBDII-Diagnostic-Scanner-CAR-CODE-READER-for-ELM327-V1-5-/130884616668?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item1e7954c1dc I used it the other day on an 07 Honda CRV to clear a code and worked fine. I would delete the app and re download it. Use your phone bluetooth setting to connect to it don't try through the app should be fine :)
  11. No problem mate I would say keep it if I was you if you could hold on to it with that mileage for a year or two be worth a lot more :)
  12. Funny enough a mate of mine is a copper from over your side of the rock in Wales but don't think he's traffic I can ask him see what he says. I would guess it would be something like "only go dogging in jeans and t-shirt and not in full bondage gear"... Oh yeah sorry we're on about the timers :D
  13. I agree I just want to find out for sure. Even if it is fine-able I would still use mine it's habbit I've done it for far to long it's like putting a seat belt on for me now. or a condom when sleeping with an unknown not that that has ever happend to me think the leathers and whip scare them off :)
  14. Now that sounds and look's great in my mind's picture, or is that because Demi moore is next to it
  15. Can see look's great from the pictures. I would be gutted I was selling it if it was mine :)
  16. I guess it is true as the paper said was brought out as far back as 2002 :o I've not been busted for using one and I have used mine all the time I even use it for 30 seconds after just a normal drive. I think it's down to the officer really maybe he was unlucky or was mouthy to the officer. I'm just shocked that you can get fined for leaving the car running. Hidden tax ;)
  17. Right I've just been to the shop and I always use my Turbo timer to keep it ticking over if I'm just popping in quick. Now when I was waiting to be served some old hill-billy ray cyrus looking chap with his hair tied back and a walking stick stopped me, and said he had got fined for leaving his car running and got 3 points at the side of the road. So I've just got back and done some research now I've found nothing about the 3 points but the fine is real by the looks of it. Now I'm not sure if you can get round it as the car is locked and the keys are not in the ignition I'm looking into that part now but expecting not to find anything really about that as it seem's it was aimed at people in taxis but knowing how petty the council and Police can be with fines I would like to know :) Not that I will stop using it keeping my car in good working order is more important to me ;) Here's one of the news articles on it http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1231460/Drivers-leave-engines-running-clear-screens-face-fines-idling-offence-rules.html
  18. I think if you have headlight washers they need to work for the MOT. Unless you remove the jets But I would say go for it :)
  19. I agree I see so many now a days. It's sad when its worth more in parts then as a hole car :( If there is anything good to come from it the car's left will increase in value. but I would rather see more Subarus being saved ;)
  20. I wouldn't worry about having one other then for show. But if you want to muller it everywhere or you go to track days might be worth adding :)
