  1. seriously if anyone wants a design let me know, they give me something to do anyway
  2. Pete, I sent it too Gambit, he can send you a copy or let me know and I can send it to you, save you doing it
  3. HA HA, I had a bit of an ABS failure again (i.e. I forgot I hadn't got it) and Pete was tucked in drafting and just followed me, Sorry Pete but in the first vid I had another ABS failure and you were just there :P
  4. you'd better beat that 8.50 you did, i'm creeping up in the Transit, managed a 8.55 or something last night :D trouble is its sooooo frustrating to get nearly all the way through lap and then put a wheel loose on one of the last corners. Worryingly my XBOX looks like its on its last legs, as it keeps freezing up on some games, fortunately not Forza so I should be ok in the races, but it looks like I'm going to have to get another at some point, was hoping not to just yet, wanted to get an XBOX ONE, but now need to get a XBOX360 so the wife can play her games too and I can play GTA. oh well, guess I'll have to wait a bit longer for an XBOXONE :(
  5. I think the 1990 legacy is a DLC car. I have all DLC so not sure without looking on the console
  6. I use a pad always hated the wheel, I like a tight car that allows precise placement, that's why I have stuck with AWD, I'll send it over tonight. I'll save the tube do if you need to change the upgrades feel free. I tend to use a lot if street stuff over race to get more power and to use better tyres/ weight reduction. I use Invar view and also only use manual gearbox although I've never used the clutch and no desire too, I'm learning enough already, I think I'm doing pretty well considering I've only just started racing without ABS and stability etc. Using the Class D car as a base means you can change a lot of stuff which gives you more scope. Certainly the my old legacy is much faster than my 2011 impreza. That's why I can do a 9min lap in a transit because I can put a ford falcon engine in it without ever exceeding A600 Class.
  7. I noticed you dropped off about lap 4, that was about when my car starting picking up, my tyres got grippier around then. I was running AWD not rear wheel drive which helped. Anyway I'd have only had an ABS failure and punted you off :-) I'm trying to get used to driving without ABS, never done it before Christmas if I'm honest always used ABS, Traction control and stability control, so it's been a steep learning curve. I got the hang of hot laps but when I'm in a crowd and the adrenaline is going I'm still over cooking the brakes and unfortunately nudge the car in front, I do however relinquish the position, so the guy in front stays there once he's back on the track. I'd just give me a wide birth, or maybe just let me go at the front then I can't run into you, that would solve it ;-)
  8. @blackbosh, Maybe I could send it over if you're any good at tuning, trade you for a paint job.
  9. My first proper online was on Xbox 360 actually and on Forza My first console was a Binatone DeLux, then an Atari cartridge console, comadore 64, Sega Megadrive, PS1, PS2, Xbox360 Never quite made top ten in world so I'll tip my hat to you on that one. I'll settle for top of SOC Topgear board now Need to some more grip out of my Legacy for the racing, having to compensate at the minute with downforce which is knocking my top end, any ideas on set up?
  10. @gambit, oh well if we're into bragging rights. GT3 (I think) did a Nurburgring challenge in Le Mans cars, fastest clean lap I came 6th in Europe and 13th worldwide. That was back in the days before "online" when you got a code and you submitted it to the website. I think I managed a lap time of just under 6 mins Might get my Tranny out tonight and give her a thrashing. . . .er, mmmm, actually, let me rephrase that. I might get into my A Class transit van tonight and see if I can beat 9 mins. On the subject of reminiscing, remember Virtua Racer on sega, 1 car, 2 tracks and that was it £60 game! Trust me I've been gaming longer than most of you, not going into ages but I watched the first Starwars in the cinema and my first game console had pong on it!
  11. Not having a fastest hot lap drives me nuts, and i'll keep going an going until I either cry into my beer or beat it. usually the the beer gets it. Not that I'm in any way competitive , on that note just like to point out I was driving a 24yr old car :D I am going to beat 9 mins in the transit though at some point! I'll post it if I do.
  12. ok here's my first proper lap in an A Class Scoob, the legacy I was using yesterday in the races. I couldn't be bothered to do the whole lap before the hot lap so I just went up the track a bit for a run up, hence the J-turn into the existence at the start 8:48.947, I reckon there's a bit more in there but having done that lap I'm off for a lie down and a stiff drink, clean laps are extremely stressful Forgot to say, replay is on my storefront for anyone interested
  13. Well I did a clean lap a 9:03. does;t sound that great unit you find out I did it an a transit, replay is on my storefront off to try a proper lap in a proper car now
  14. I have to admit I actually put in some 100 or so laps to learn every bump and kerb before I got my Sub 1:22 clean lap, so either you're damn good and knock me off pole quickly in which hat off to yer or be prepared to put the grind in. please don't beat me though, I can't sit through that many laps again but I won't be able to settle for 2nd. they'll find me sat in my rocking chair in 20yrs all crusty with an xbox controller in my skeletal fingers
  15. I bet that replay will look good if we've got SOC cars, its a shame you didn't have a replay of me and blackbosh, we swapped positions god knows how many times, right up to the least corner where I slightly over cooked it. I', good with our class A race cars to set laps, might try a Standard 22B lap also just to see., I wouldn't worry too much about clean laps on this one, it can get pretty frustrating after 9 mins to put a wheel of on last corner. Oh no, the red rag waving and I'm the bull. Blackbosh, that lap time has got to go!!
  16. Sounds pretty quick, I'm not expecting to beat that in a transit so fear not lol
  17. I might try to set a lap in my 24yr old car and then try and set a modded transit lap just for the crack Would be funny if that was the fastest lap though :-)
  18. what are we doing A class lap or standard car lap as with Topgear track I'll go and see if I can dog"conquer" the nordschleife, get it? I'll get my coat
  19. I think it was me doing the bumping. I even gave Gambit a love tap, actually that reminds me I need to have a shower. @blackbosh if you need a car design, I'm your man, let me know
  20. You nearly did see one near you. . . . . . me! Subaru just don't advertise them, for some reason they design a great car that would challenge the nissan Quashqai market and they sit there and go " what a great car, but for gods sake don't tell anyone about it, we want to stay in the niche market". Apparently Porsche sell more cars in the UK a year than Subaru, that makes Subaru more exclusive than Porsche! As for where I was being near where you live that might explain why I felt a but creeped out over there ;)
  21. I used to race in a club where you did just as I said before. you were allowed to put a street gearbox in, which allowed you to trim final gear, street suspension which allowed some basic tuning and aero mods. no race tyres or widened tyres only profile and wheel type allowed to provide the cosmetic look, and you were allowed to add whatever aero mods you wanted. not sure but I think you can limit the race type to street mods instead of race mods, with the limited tuning it starts to be more about the driver than the tuning ability of the driver? you could also do what they do in touring car where everyone tunes their car up to A600 but the winner of a race has to drop one weight category "thus adding ballast or has to drop down to A590 class, if they win again then its A580 Class down to a max of A550 where they then sit, each loss from there lifts them 10 points
  22. You could look at street mods only, maybe only allow cosmetic/aero mods. Street gearbox and tyres and suspension and lightening. No engine mods would make for much closer racing. Relies on a bit of trust with people
  23. drove mine up to North Wales yesterday, mostly motorway driving returned 71.6mpg, pretty impressive for a permanent 4x4. Carstin's Dealership are submitting it as a story, might end up in the Subaru mag? so far the XV has been pretty impressive around, just wish there was some snow to test it out on. although the other day when I went up to Spurns Head near Hull and it looked like it had been hit by a tsunami I did have some mud and some floods to contend with, although to be fair they were probably passable with care in a normal car. one thing I have found is that the white car is a pig to get clean, all the water marks and brake dust spots show up even after you've washed it. I had to use a clay bar to clean the lower half, looks nice when its done though, just a thought for anyone buying one and unsure of colour, if you don't like cleaning your car, don't get a white one! If I get time over next couple of weeks I'll put together a little review with some pics and stuff for anyone interested
