What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Police are next to useless these days, they wouldn't secure a conviction so why bother, hopefully your car wasn't damaged Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How Many XV's
You've not heard then, a ford Ka ran into the back of it and shoved it I to the car I front, mine needs a new back bumper, the brace bar behind the bumper and some brackets. The ford Ka was a write off, not much sympathy her I'm afraid, we reckon she was on the phone Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Well I've just swapped my lovely scoob for a Peugeot, sadness follows. On the up side the assessor reckons it's hardly touched the car, though he says it does look like its submarined under the back of the XV, he reckons a new bumper brace bar and s new bumper and it'll be fine. As the bumpers come prepainted they won't even need to spray it. With any luck the woman that hit me is wondering what she's going to do with all the scrap metal that now parked on her drive. Gambit, you gotta keep up with this thread as its all going on here. What with my XV, majiks back and Nicks purchasing war Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Lets hope they don't come back with the chassis is bent, that's my concern at present. Wife isn't too bad but she's struggling to move about. Strangely the only bit that seems ok is her neck, but that's probably do to it being a front to back impact and the headrest did its job. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Right, thought I'd update on the accident the other day. Good news is she's insured and accepted all liability, hooray!! wife ended up in doctors yesterday because she was having difficulty walking about on her ankle and everything really ached, doc says its basically whole body whiplash, everything took a pounding probably because she was tensed up at the time of impact. I've given the car a decent inspection and there's no visible damage to the front of the car although the bonnet doesn't quite align with the left wing as well as it did, I reckon this is probably because it pushed out a bit as the bumper flexed. the back has two big scuffs on it but its a new bumper. The chassis sections that run the length of the car look ok, car drives straight, tested with no hands whilst braking and accelerating and isn't pulling or anything. no leaks from engine bay. the rear strut though behind the bumper has seen better days but that's pretty easily replaceable. considering the force of the impact and they the ford Ka that hit her was a total loss, even though prior to the accident it was in mint condition I think I may have come out of it pretty lightly. the impact at either end didn't even break any glassware or even the number plates. hoping therefore that this is mostly cosmetic and she'll back on the road and in her full glory in no time, fingers crossed

If it's a bank payment through PayPal, contact them, they're really fast at refunds, and it's up to the seller to prove against. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Won't be putting it up because there's all the legal stuff going through now, so I can't put it because it could risk claims etc. Although that's not the wife's reason, that's because she is less than complimentary.I reckon the wife is going to suffer for this tomorrow because the car lurched when it was hit rather than the car absorb the impact the car lurched and my wife was thrown around like a ragdoll. Luckily she's off tomorrow so I'll be waiting on her no doubt. Nick, contact with scoobynet is your best bet. Hopefully you'll get something back from them. Sounds like the guy is a crook. What have you done to your Subaru today ?
well, my car has returned. wife is feeling a bit crap because as usual everything is starting to seize up several hours after the event. the damage to the car doesn't loo too bad as the woman behind has (unfortunately for her) driven straight into the end of the chassis behind the bumpers the full length of the chassis has taken the impact and transferred it through the car. The cross member behind the bumper is somewhat wonky. and the bonnet doesn't fit as snug as it did so that might need replacing. from the video it looks like my wife had just come to a gentle stop and was just readying to pull away again when the woman behind her hit her and pushed her into the car in front, looks like the fact that neither my wife or the car in front had their foot on the brake has reduced the damage to the car as the car moving has absorbed much of the impact, although this has made the ride for my wife significantly worse. might not be allowed to put the video up because my wife called her a stupid ****** which is quite clearly audible. i'll work on that.

Probably just as well in my case. Hopefully she's not bent anything too much behind the bumper, not worried about the front as the airbags didn't even go off so the must have been pretty light, but the back is another story Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks all, looks like the car will get sorted pretty soon, had the vultures on for claims but that's all going through insurers. Wife is feeling a bit site and worried about how neck is going to be tomorrow. Fortunately the XV, like the forester has some heft to it so the ford Ka that hit her took most of the brunt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I got a camera fitted so can easily prove the order and severity of the impacts. Wouldn't be without a camera now. Cat because I have an iPhone and it types what it wants not what I tell it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've already had my insurers legal team on about it and it's going to go through as a personal injury, they're also letting me take the car to a subaru repair centre rather than "their own approved" usually Fred's bodyshop in shed in smethwick. Just got to sort all the forms and crap out. Other driver has accepted full liability which makes life easier. Should be on video so will put up, seen photo of back of my cat and it looks fine, other car apparently looked like emu's nose when he screwed his beak up. No sympathy there though. Well she's got bad sciatic pain down her leg which suggests she's hurt her back in some way. At least the car behind was insured as it turns out. I don't think she'll be driving her KA home after picking on 1.4tonne of Subaru though. Wife is generally ok though, car is driveable. Just a real annoyance now more than anything. Had someone phone up asking if i want to make a personal injury claim already, the vultures are circling. My wife is thinking she might. The woman who hit her was in tears on the kerb not through shock but because my wife shouted at her, my wife can be quite good at that. Off to pick up the other car which is fixed but no one can say why there was a carbon build up so I'm not hoping out much hope that it's actually fixed just feeling a " "bit better". Hope everyone else has a better day with their subarus. [emoji27] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Well, crap start to the day. Wife took my car to work because I'm picking her car up and some stupid cow has run into the back of her so hard it pushed her into the car in front. Sounds like the XV held up ok as there doesn't seem to be too much damage but I'm already wondering about crumple zones? Girl's reason why she hit her is s classic, when my wife asked what the hell were you doing, she replied "I didn't put the brakes on in time" obviously not top of the intellect tree in Dudley this one. Got all the crap to deal with sorting that out now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

took mine to the Midland Game fair with wife and dog, went to subaru stand and wife was looking at a black Forester XT, chap from subaru collared us and we happened to mention that we were contemplating changing her XV for a Foz. guy offered us a go in a fox around their 4x4 track, not one to pass up a drive off road I said yes, went got taken around by Isuzu Team's competition Safari co-driver. very nice car very capable off road, though the XV was doing the same track so I guess there was more in the tank for the foz as that's the better off road car in general. wife loved the XT but at £32k and only mid 30s mpg and the hefty road tax its a bit hard to justify even with the extra 100 horses under the hood. Also the Subaru fella reckons the STi XV isn't real, its a mock up, he knows nothing about an STi version (but that could just be he doesn't know).
