  1. changing rear diff oil using; http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/car-tranmission-oils/manual-transmission-fluids/?522770312&0&cc5_868 strange that the drain plug was easy to undo while the filler plug was way to fastened... actually the drain plug came off so easy with my 'new' Milwaukee tool that i spilled a bit of oil :o for filling the diff with new oil i used my green funnel and line i used for my previous Hilux / Sorento cars, works well all thou it takes it's time
  2. most if not all Kenwood units are using Garmin as their GPS / SatNav system we have had many Kenwood DNX systems in our previous cars but i moved over to a Pioneer AVIC as these do sound better and are easy to hack, eh modify ;) SWMBO has a Chinese WinCE box in her current car
  3. checked the rear diff oil level. filler plug didn't want to come off not even with my torque wrench at 210Nm! :o no worries used my new Milwaukee tool and in setting 3 the filler plug came off. just shows how bad those so called dealers are (my06 has fully service history) level was just a bit over filled and the oil needs a change but couldn't get the right oil that quick so next week job
  4. or made a outbound blocking rule "XT" or "Turbo" in the firewall
  5. clips but they can be stiff and need some power to come off
  6. there is a ground clearance difference between the N/A and the Turbo Forester so may be also a difference in struts?
  7. indeed, i have once told a taxi driver off about this stupid driving behavior and told him as he doesn't stop driving like a troll i want to get out and report him.
  8. looks like i have sone kind of knocking noise coming from the back of the Forester, probably a bearing going bad. no time to fix as working every single day from 6:30 till late at the moment.
  9. yep. yep. don't buy a cheap £40 so called best value car cam from the far east as i'm going to send it back as my $60 uniden is way better :)
  10. i'm with you drinking cider (Savanna) and sitting in the sun B)
  11. some posts here; http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6082-lifting-a-forester/#entry41776 you can do it your self with the Pedders kit you want to buy but you will need a torque wrench what can deliver up to 200Nm for the 2 lower bolts, best also to replace the self-locking nuts with new ones. i know there plenty of guys just use a breakers bar to tighten the bolts / nuts but it's a suspension part... and safety first!
  12. got it from here; http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/
  13. i think that in general the driving skills are going down every where i'm afraid, this is also that the police are pussies and not active to catch them... they sit on their desk doing (red tape) paper work :o in the oldie days we had the Porsche / BMW bike police, Rijkspolitie, hunting like sharks to keep this kind of idiots of the roads but those days are gone :( now we are living in a so called multiculture state by some people ignoring the local rules...
  14. no work there :(
  15. driving (overtaking) like that is normal behaviour in Portugal lived in the Algarve for 5 years and have seen many crashes :o
  16. installed my new Yuasa battery after charging it for 24 hours. at halfords £99 but i bought it for £54 incl p&p online B)
  17. there was indeed a firmware update but not sure if it solves reading the SG info better. the program calls MaxLink2 and the firmware can be found on their web site.
  18. hmmm, the ONLY garden we have is the A23
  19. as new mate, B) but... how many wheelie bins do you have :o
  20. ordered a Yuasa Silver battery http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_989425_langId_-1_categoryId_165762
  21. make sure you put a charger on your battery as a flattened battery shortens it's life span
  22. yep, yep, now that's what i call a selfy wayway hope all is well mate
  23. have a test drive in the 2015 Forester? personality don't care about satnav, led / runniing lights etc. i own my own satnav what does also bluetooth / audio streaming (internet radio) / podcasts and plays every map out there. but i do see the point made by the OP and i agree that companies should be more active on forums to learn from their customers as with no customers no company; do read this Subaru! we are your customers
  24. yeah, i was just asking as i actually want to have SLS back on my06 as when i bought her she already had non SLS struts done by the prevous owner. i did kept the once when in Australia but when we moved back to the UK i dropped them in a skip :o as we had no space left for them in the shipping container :(
  25. oops, i just wanted to tell you if you change the struts you WILL have to change the springs also! Pedders shoud know better when you ordered your new Pedder struts and should have told you that you will need new springs... back in Australia i changed from SLS to standard struts by using Pedders springs and Ultima struts as one SLS strut was completly shot if you going to dispose the SLS struts / springs can i get them?
