  1. living at a traffic light on a hill, 90% of the drivers are using the clutch to keep the car stationary (moving forwards and backwards all the time till the traffic light goes green) slipping the clutch slightly. :o or even worse stalling the engine when moving from the brake to the accelerator with their right feet and dropping backwards a couple meters. where are the decent drivers who are using the handbrake to hold the car stationary?
  2. guys one comment from me; no matter what happened i shouldn't have bumped into that Peugeot even thou it happened :( she took off i followed did a quick look to the right to make sure the roundabout was still clear (as it was) then looked forward and there was the Peugeot standing still in front of me, full in the brakes and bumped the Peugeot. Woman came out saying sorry engine shuttered and i didn't want to cross the roundabout. Point here is that i bumped in the back of that car, have NO witnesses as everybody drove around us and it will be my word against hers. insurance companies are like sharks; waiting for a phone call like this and trying to put as many things as possible on the bill of the person in fault like hire car, hospital visit, expensive (friend garage of the insurance) garages etc etc.
  3. i just took off from still stand too so the speed must be like under the 5 mph, i was also looking to the right into the roundabout what was completely empty. she insist to go trough the insurance as i offered her cash since the only damage i could see was some scuffs on her Peugeot's bumper. so it's bye bye to my No Claims Bonus. a good start for the weekend...
  4. oops, woman stalled her engine on the roundabout while taking off resulting me bumping into her car :( stupid thing is that i had my car cam installed yesterday but left it out today
  5. changing rear diff oil using; http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/engine-oils-and-car-fluids/car-tranmission-oils/manual-transmission-fluids/?522770312&0&cc5_868 strange that the drain plug was easy to undo while the filler plug was way to fastened... actually the drain plug came off so easy with my 'new' Milwaukee tool that i spilled a bit of oil :o for filling the diff with new oil i used my green funnel and line i used for my previous Hilux / Sorento cars, works well all thou it takes it's time
  6. most if not all Kenwood units are using Garmin as their GPS / SatNav system we have had many Kenwood DNX systems in our previous cars but i moved over to a Pioneer AVIC as these do sound better and are easy to hack, eh modify ;) SWMBO has a Chinese WinCE box in her current car

  9. still remember the 2011 E3 very well as burning DVD's for the XBox in the middle of the night and bringing them to our manager's house since he was flying to the US that very same morning to demo our game BodyCount
  10. yep, yep; http://twit.tv/sn and show notes; http://twit.tv/show/security-now/458 but best info can be found on Steve his own web site; https://www.grc.com where you can search for topics
  11. Steve talks about this "2 weeks computer virus" in the beginning of this podcast. Don't listen to much to Leo as he is a bit of a commercial troll IMHO
  12. listen to episode #458; https://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm or view episode #458;
  13. checked the rear diff oil level. filler plug didn't want to come off not even with my torque wrench at 210Nm! :o no worries used my new Milwaukee tool and in setting 3 the filler plug came off. just shows how bad those so called dealers are (my06 has fully service history) level was just a bit over filled and the oil needs a change but couldn't get the right oil that quick so next week job
  14. or made a outbound blocking rule "XT" or "Turbo" in the firewall
  15. clips but they can be stiff and need some power to come off
  16. there is a ground clearance difference between the N/A and the Turbo Forester so may be also a difference in struts?
  17. indeed, i have once told a taxi driver off about this stupid driving behavior and told him as he doesn't stop driving like a troll i want to get out and report him.
  18. looks like i have sone kind of knocking noise coming from the back of the Forester, probably a bearing going bad. no time to fix as working every single day from 6:30 till late at the moment.
  19. yep. yep. don't buy a cheap £40 so called best value car cam from the far east as i'm going to send it back as my $60 uniden is way better :)
  20. i'm with you drinking cider (Savanna) and sitting in the sun B)
  21. some posts here; http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/6082-lifting-a-forester/#entry41776 you can do it your self with the Pedders kit you want to buy but you will need a torque wrench what can deliver up to 200Nm for the 2 lower bolts, best also to replace the self-locking nuts with new ones. i know there plenty of guys just use a breakers bar to tighten the bolts / nuts but it's a suspension part... and safety first!
