maf sensor prices
Just wondered why the price range in maf sensors is so vast. Apparently if bought from dealer it's £100+. On ebay there's some for £25 brand new with next day delivery. Some at around £45 and some over £100 Is there different "grades" of them or is a maf just a maf regardless of brand ?

White wheels?
That's mine at the moment in a darker grey. I've been quoted 40 quid a wheel to change to any colour if I want them doing

White wheels?
I've got same wheels on mine and looking to paint them. They have been done in a dark grey at the moment but thought a change to purple or some thing would brighten it up :-)

Update I already had the new sensor before you gave advice Martin so I fitted it but no change like you said so that rules that out I decided to reinstall the original air filter housing rather than the cone last night and so far seems smoother so see how long that lasts. If that doesn't work I will try the vacuum pipe you mentioned.

Which Exhaust?
I've had two toyo sports on my previous civics. Good solid exhausts for the money. Got full stainless on my civic coupe and it was quite loud so not sure what the volume level will be like on subaru ha

Newbie saying hi
There's always the UK turbo rather than wrx or sti. That's what I've got purely because it's first decent one I saw in my budget. Think its cheaper on insurance than wrx and sti but I could be wrong on that

ECU replacement
I'm not doubting it but that is by far the most expensive I've heard for mapping Is it because it's an impreza because a couple friends with Leon cupra turbo petrol paid £200 for mapping

ECU replacement
that's A LOT, there's no way I'm justifying spend that much on it lol. Is that just because its Ecutek?

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
oh no i realized lol, when i got back from holiday it was flat in the airport car park but there was a petrol station just outside the car park so drove it there to pump it up which apparently knackered it but oh well.

the other symptom i've just noticed / remembered is sometimes when steadily going through the revs, at around 2500 rpm its like it is hesitating / stuttering, usually it will just pull through this and carry on as normal. i will have a look at maf sensor later on see if theres anything wrong with it, if that was faulty would it throw up fault code 22 for the knock though? thats the only thing throwing me if it is the maf or fuel pump etc
-
Need help please
It cut out and holds back sometimes at around 4500 tom so sounds similar. Pardon the daft question but what do you mean by hear it prime? It's only cut out once. Other than that it just feels juddery/ stuttering occasionally The car has a k&n "type" cone filter. Blitz bov. Decat down pipe and magnex back box. Other than that it's standard

thanks martin I just went with the error code and what i read so thought I'd start at the source, what ever it is, its temperamental because I've just been out in it and no problems. I've got a new knock sensor to fit anyways as they are only cheap. What do you think i should look out for with the maf and fuel pump? would a cone filter affect anything that i have going on? Not often you get a garage handing out mechanical know how without charging for it so it is very much appreciated thankyou

ECU replacement
just something i saw on ebay earlier, was't looking to do it exactly just wondered if it was possbile. it is a ecutek with licence on yes, just seemed a cheaper option but if its no good will prob cost more in long run ha the car it was on had decat, upgrade fuel pump, upgraded air filter and also fuel injectors, alegedly running 276bhp with print out. Like you say maps are done specific to suit each cars needs etc. just so expensive to do but guess its worth it. As for the locks Ive read both stories about the locks so thats also unclear.

ECU replacement
This maybe a really daft question so bear with me, if i got hold of an ecu which has been mapped already and replaced mine with it would this be ok? I'm guessing each map is specific to each car so just wondered if anybody has done this before. The one i have seen lists the mods which the car had before it was removed, if i matched the mods would it be a straight swap over or would there be problems?
