  1. well, i can't speak for the 3ltr 6 speed Legacy, but i have a 2ltr 5 speed and its an absolute gem :) I'd love a 3ltr version, although the insurance would be extremely expensive for me.
  2. ooh, I do this every other weekend :) Rinse the car off, then wash with Autoglym shampoo using the two bucket method. Then I will dry the car using a microfiber cloth. Then polish with autoglym resin polish and buff off with another microfiber. I'll then wax on and buff off with another microfiber. I use this wax by the way, its amazing stuff :) edit, sorry this is a better video I also use either auto finesse iron x or Autoglym alloy wheel cleaner on the alloys. And Rainx glass cleaner for the windows - I also add some rainx to the windows too. Its nice seeing the water beading on the paintwork.
  3. main dealers charge a fortune for stuff. I nipped into my local scooby dealer a few weeks back after another alloy to act as a spare. They wanted 270 quid for just one alloy! Found a used one on Ebay for 50 quid. Hope you get it sorted OP, but does your friend really need two keys?
  4. I wouldn't have a clue where to get one fitted or anything. But have you checked Larkspeed for a new clutch? http://www.larkspeed.com/index.pl?c=BRAKING&s=category
  5. I drove to and from work :) And got my MPG up to 31.2 haha I can't help but think my MPG would be a bit higher if i had decent brand tyres on it. It came with new set of cheap "event" tyres.
  6. sweet dude, welcome to the forums :)
  7. The missus hoovered mine whilst i washed, polished and waxed her Astra :)
  8. ah man that sucks, hate wankers like that! I'd get a camera on the front of your house "overwatching" the car(s) You can bet it wont happen again. Pretty solid defense against burglars too
  9. The garage is called PATS, in horden,Peterlee. Generally they are pretty good, priced well and don't rip people off. Although they seem to know very little about scoobs.
  10. sorry, not meaning to hyjack the thread, but what is gearbox whine?
  11. I have to admit, I love having a scooby. And the fact that all other scoob drivers give you a friendly wave really shows how pleasant and friendly they all are.
  12. hahaha welcome to the forums :)
  13. thanks for the advice chaps. Pain in the backside, I certainly wont be going back there.
  14. thats a nice car mate! good luck
  15. I've had a hobby day. :) washed, polished and waxed the car, rainx'd the windows, scrubbed my alloys, changed the headlights to some decent bulbs, gave the inside a bit of a clean and then cleaned up all the mess i made along the way :)
  16. Oh that seems to make sense. Well I called them up earlier in the week and explained the issue, one of the decent mechanics told me to to pop in today. i spoke to some other guy (who was a bit of a knob) he wants me to take it back next Saturday. So, they may have removed/loosened the track rod ends and the wheel wasn't straight when they connected the rod ends back up?
  17. hi thanks for the reply, sorry, i dont think i explained the problem very well. The car isn't pulling the left, its just that the steering wheel isn't straight and is leaning to the left when driving.
  18. hey guys, So today I took my car back to the garage that serviced the car (last Friday). They to lift the engine up to change the plugs, however for some reason my steering wheel is now leaning to the left a little when driving straight. I've had the tracking checked (which was fine) and all four wheel rebalanced. But still the steering wheel is to the left a few notches? edit - but the car isnt pulling to the left, it will drive straight, just the wheel is of centre. I called the garage up the other day, he said to pop it in on Friday, went today, spoke to a different guy, who just moaned and said to come back next saturday. He was whinging about the engine being a VVT and how awkward it is or something? So, firstly, whats a VVT engine? and secondly, does anyone have any idea of what the mechanics could have done thats led to the steering wheel leaning to the left? Someone said that when they have lifted the engine up, they aint put the steering wheel straight when they have sat it back down again? Any ideas chaps? thanks in advance Oh and yes, A different garage next time. lol
  19. I'd love to pop down, although, I'd struggle to come Mon-thurs as I'd need to drive down and back up north again and still be in a reasonable state for work 8am the next day. I think it would take me 2-3hours at a guess. I may have to skip the march meet and go for the one after that. :(
  20. I've totally derailed this thread, but sod it. I quite like the look of this. http://www.mufflebox.com/collections/subaru/products/side-racing-stripes-9 Once i get my spoiler on, along with some rear window tints, I think it will give it that sporty look :)
