  1. well I did think that, but the car drove fine at 70-80 on Thursday night. The car was with the garage Friday am through till this morning. I have a feeling they left it outside. - The area is pretty rough btw. Most people have told me it sounds like the wheels need balancing. So i guess I'm just putting two and two together. But, i will find out for certain when I get the wheels balanced again
  2. someones been stealing the little lead balancing weights!
  3. Just a bit of an update, as everyone was suggesting the balancing needed doing. I popped out with my maglight to have a butchers at the wheels. It seems that, on the front left and both rears ALL of the little weights have been removed. You could see the remainder of the sticky tape there. How strange..... car fine on Thursday, service on Friday, get it back on Saturday and find three out of four wheels have the balancing weights missing....
  4. lol, well the service was included in the cost of the car. (from my lasses uncle) they will probably bill him. But i aint paying him nout, came out in worse than before it went in. the tyre place didn't charge me, they only checked the tracking and said it was fine. I spoke to the subaru guys from sheffield through PM's on here. He didn't seem impressed that they took out the engine to change the plugs.
  5. So, had a full service yesterday/today. Was organised through my lasses uncle (bought the motor off him) with a garage he trusts and works with frequently. They told me they had to remove the engine to change the plugs? I presume they dont work with scoobs regularly. Took it out for a spin this afternoon, at speeds of 60,70,80 mph the steering is leaning to the left and its also shaking. Everything was fine before the service, the car ran like a dream at those speeds. I took it to my usual tyre place, they said it wasnt the tracking. I explained the symptoms, he said it could be a balancing issue then. - Although everything was fine before the service. Anyone got any ideas? I was told that they shouldnt have need to remove the engine to change the plugs though, so that is a little worrying. I presume that they haven't got the right tools or something.
  6. Anyone used Hankook tyres? These have a good fuel economy rating. http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/hankook/ventus-prime2-k115/215/45/R17/W/91/m?returnurl=%2forder%2ftyres%3f&tyre=27530048 Dunno if that link will work, if not they are Hankook Ventus Prime 2 K115's
  7. damn that does look good. Although, I think it would look better with black alloys.
  8. I've only just bought the car, so i have no idea what fuel the previous owner put it.
  9. yeah its pretty fun, and my PC is beast when it comes to gaming :)
  10. well i've had shell vpower in since Saturday, my MPG's gone from 30.1 up to 30.9 so far... not much, but its better than nothing.
  11. :) I'm into PC modding too.. although I expect car modding is going to be more expensive...
  12. thanks for the replies chaps. lol I'vee got a list a of car jobs haha. Cars getting Service on Friday. Need to get my rear tires looked at, as One keeps losing pressure. When i got the car, it had four snow tires on it, that were not too far off replacing. Which was fine, was going to replace all four together. But, Just before I bought it, he had the front two replaced with two cheap "event" tyres. So now i have two rear tyres that aint too far off needing to be replaced and two front cheapy tyres. Ideally I would have liked to keep all the tyres the same time. I also need to chase up the spoiler too, then look at getting the brakes done :)
  13. ah yes the fluid. How much would I need? I found some on ebay, is erm 2 litres enough lol? hahah
  14. thanks buddy, cars getting serviced on Friday, so I'll ask them if they are willing to fit the lines+discs+pads for me. Otherwise I'll have to drive to those chaps in Sheffield lol
  15. yay me again :) Can someone do me a quick favor, when i get my brakes done, i want some new brake lines too. These ones on Ebay are the ones I was going to get, can anyone confirm they will fit? I'm pretty sure they will though, just after a little confirmation. thanks
  16. thanks Jay, I notice that they are 100w bulbs. Would this not damage the projector light? or draw too much power?
  17. i had a good think, I decided that whilst I would like some decent lights. I'll pass for now. Will just get some decent light bulbs instead
  18. thanks bud, will get some pics up as soon as its fitted :)
  19. So I was looking for some new lightbulbs, mine are ok just fancy something brighter. And a mate suggested something like this Would anybody recommend for or against this? I'm guessing they are not road legal? thanks ;)
  20. I just filled up with Shell Vpower You get either 2 points per litre of Vpower or 1 point per litre of normal fuel. I got 50bonus points for filling up with Vpower. The rewards come through quarterly, for each 500 points you get a £2.50 fuel voucher. Pretty fair i think :)
  21. thanks, just waiting for my missus uncle to sort it out for me :) Hopefully this time next week it will be fitted. :)
  22. so, I thought i'd post some "before" pics.
  23. looking good mate :) makes me wanna buy something :(
  24. yeah I've let them know. Glad to hear they have a good reputation. Will be a bit of trip down there, but I think it will be worth it. Will be useful to speak to some Scooby gurus rather than the "normal" mechanics from my usual garage. Whilst they know their stuff, no doubt these guys have greater experience and knowledge when working with scoobs.
