  1. Oh upped the mpg to 53.4 on the way home from Norfolk! Also smoked (literally) a volvo xc90 which was being driven like a muppet. Hugggge black smokescreen lol
  2. Pete, Have you done the update from the pioneer website which lets you use the iphone5?? I haven't bothered as am using my old 4 but gather there is something you have to download to a memory stick? Might help before you shell out more cash? Cheers Alan
  3. Averaged 51.6mpg from bude in cornwall to diss in norfolk. Quite happy with that :-) Cheers Alan
  4. That's a complete engine rebuild for just an engine flush? Never heard that before! Sounds more like they are replacing something but not making an issue as it would probably lead to a huge recall and resulting bad press etc
  5. Thats not good at all. Is this something to do with this diesel particulate thing i've read about then? Bit disappointing from the main dealer though. Seems a cop out more than anything. If it was that then surely they could fix it and it wouldn't be a constant issue? Cheers Malan
  6. Nice one thank you. Had to take the little plastic cover off the bottom of the glove box area but now have it dangled in the footwell. Will try amd find some thin wire and extend it a bit. Least i don't have to stand next to the car now :-) Cheers Alan
  7. At times I'm lucky if I get 3 metres!! Be great to extend the range a bit. How do I do it and where is the wire. Don't suppose you have a picky please? Cheers Alan
  8. Mine has the same ones. I think they are the dealer fitted ones rather than at the actual factory? Mine did just beep then worked ok but either the towbar is fixing them or something being disturbed has made them sulk. Sdon't really use them anyway so not an issue. If you look there is a little switch on the top and this changes the volume to off/low/high. Cheers Alan
  9. My parking sensors have gone awol. Have turned the beeps off tbh Cheers Alan
  10. Been to halfords in Plymouth today and got a magnetic dab aerial as the windscreen one is naff. Works a treat too. Soc discount card caused fun but they processed it (gave me too much discount though lol). Nice to have dab with no fading. Cheers Alan
  11. Shame we are darn sarf at the minute or would have said hi. I work in Hessle :-) Have fun Cheers Alan
  12. I just got the pioneer 3500 dab double din unit from halfords. Excellent piece of kit and even with standard speakers gives a much nicer sound. Good bit of discount with the club card as well. :-) Cheers Alan
  13. I'm trying the shell v power diesel at the minute. I had normal shell in to about qtr tank then brimmed it. So far a couple of mpg more on the average but will wait and see as it tends to be a tad higher for the first qtr. Cheers Alan
  14. My old iPhone 4. When I got my 5 I kept the 4 to use as an iPod. Glad I did now lol.
  15. I like mine. They are comfy and supportive. Ok in the summer they can get warm but the aircon brings it back down. The cream is maybe harder to clean than the black but it does stay a bit cooler. If you get the heated ones doesn't matter in the cold lol. Cheers Alan
  16. I have seen someone has made a double din unit fit in the cubby hole. Leaves the factory unit in though. Cheers Alan
  17. Finally fitted my new stereo. Once the gear knob and gater were off i could take out the 12v socket panel and side silver part. 6 screws and the old unit comes out. The new part screws together and then you attach the stereo. Bit of messing with cables and aerials then put it all back together. (Insert drink tea after each new sentence lol). Anyway am really happy. Sound out of the box is brilliant and the app radio thing works well. Have to figure out if i can listen to the dab radio and sat nav at same time? Looks pretty standard as well :-)
  18. Just at louth tow bar centre having a tow bar fitted to the outback. Whole back end of the car is off! Wouldn't fancy this as a diy. Thanks for the recomendation gambit :-) the guy who owns it has an impreza and his son has an impreza wagon lol. Mini scooby meet lol. Price is very good as well. Cheers Alan
  19. I only ask as I used some sainsbury stuff in mine and it ran like a dog and gave crap mileage. Put she'll back in and it perked up. Fingers crossed the dealer sorts it :-)
  20. Seems a bit weird. Wonder if she has had some dirty supermarket diesel and that has clogged it up. You do hear of these diesels doing rocket miles as well as breaking though. I got mine as a diesel due to my mileage and running costs tbh. Hoping for a good 100k out of it if I'm honest :-) Cheers Alan
  21. My letter, stickers and card arrived today :-) gonna figure out where to put the stickers :-) Big thank you Alan
  22. Just got to fit my pioneer stereo then mine will look like this too :-)
  23. Well tyre turned out to be scrap. The new one is directional tread pattern just slightly different but will have to do or now. Mystery solved as to why the gunk was in there though!! My lead cam for the stereo today so now have everything ready to do the install just need the time now :-) Cheers Alan
  24. Bonus 1 has turned out not so good. Came out this morning to find the dodgy wheel nearly flat. Pumped it up and went to work. At lunch had dropped 10psi. Went to my local garage and checked it but no obvious leaks. Pumped up and back to work. Had to put another 15psi back in it to get home. Checked it again 4 hours later and flat. Have put 40psi in it and could her the air. Looks like a tiny hole about 0.5 to 1 cm from the sidewall. Reckon that will be too close to repair. I wonder if the seller got the puncture after the tyres were brand new and put the stuff in as it coldn't be repaired. Good hint was he gave me a extra tyre with them so will have to get that fitted tomorrow. Slightly different tread which I don't like doing but gets me mobile in it again. Have emailed a couple of tyre places to see if I can get a new tyre with the same tread so fingers crossed. Cheers Alan
