  1. Nice one and great to see your loving the car. Welcome to the 2017 era, we are breaking new ground Just a few comments to make on your post. Are you really ment to keep the revs below 4000. Ouch. I can't remember how many time I have hit the limiter. I have a lot of wax showing on my engine, however I'm not to bothered about it as it's doing a job of protecting the components. I also love the sound and the worrble that comes from the car, however I'm planning in installing a cat back exhaust shortly. The noise insulation inside is good however I often switch the radio off and role the window down. lol I agree with you regarding the starlink system, and it's even worse when you down load the app, now that is crap. lol Yes I have been using a bit of fuel as well, most of which is BP's unleaded 97. One thing I did take advantage of was the Autoglym life shine protection system on offer from Subaru. http://lifeshine.com Enjoy the ride. :-)
  2. Mechanically not a lot has changed on the STI in years I guess. One of things that was changed from Mark Higgins 2014 TT lap record was the steering. This now has less turns from lock to lock after this big near miss. In addition to the steering being tweeked Subaru have also fitted a D shaped steering wheel which feels really good and easy to handling. It feels good. Changes to the Subaru Starlink Infotainment system which includes voice recognition. It also has the keyless access and start system installed, so you dont use a key in the ignition, you just need to have it in your pocket and you can open and lock the doors with your fingers, and use the push button start. I think that is everything. Same car effectively but just a little more refined with extra touches. I hope this answers some of your questions. Richie.
  3. This is the first STI I have had so I can't pit agaist an older model. The reason I have this STI is due to the heritage of the STI as I think they have all looked great throughout years.
  4. Hello Cory. Welcome along. Where abouts in Glasgow are you from. I'm from Barrhead. Nice car you have for some of these great scottish roads. Take care.
  5. Well I traded in the lovely XV with 12000 miles on it, after two years and ordered this 2017 WRX STI. My local dealer had sold all the 2016 models so they had ordered a WR Blue 2017 demonstrator which they kept for me. I'm really well impressed with it. I'll never miss chance to post some pictures. Big thanks to the lads of http://www.eagleshamgarage-subaru.co.uk for all the help, advise and service.
  6. That was out there. lol
  7. The car has a wash, aqua wax and the Rally Armour mud flaps installed. The Wind deflectors were already fitted when I picked the car up last week.
  8. Now that is the very nice WRX. All the best for driving it.
  9. I had mine fitted when I purchased the XV. TBH, they are great, I'll be getting an STI next month and will be getting mods done to it before picking git up. one of these mods will be wind deflectors.
  10. Looks great too.
  11. Great cars. I went to The Ignition festival in Glasgow yesterday. Test drive of the Blue WRX STI just confirmed I want one. Roll on next month. As for the Lavorge, as great car up-setting the British Touring Cars Grid.
  12. Great car for some great roads in Shetlands.

Great winter video. I did the same to go climbing and found the car handled very well on the single track roads in the highlands. I never got any footage of the car getting us there, however I do have footage of the climb. lol. Beinn Udlaidh, Quartzvein scoop 01
  14. Something I'm considering doing myself. Looks very good.
  15. Yes the XV is a typical Subaru and drives very well. Welcome to the forum.
  16. Welcome enjoy your purchase and the forum. :-)
  17. Well as promised, Subaru have come up with £250 of vouchers for Blacks outdoors store. I'll be heading to Glasgow tomorrow for some new winter climbing kit. Thanks Subaru / Blacks.
  18. Hi Fkend As the images show, you will loose boot space with the spare tyre. I feel it as I have spare boots, rucksacks and climbing gear in the car, however my feelings are the same as yours. Why have a AWD car that can go anywhere and nobody can come and help you if you get stuck. The loss of space in my opinion is vast. Further to this it will cost £400 odd for the spare. In my opinion its worth the money to have the peace of mind.

Amazing that the black looks a little larger and more aggressive where as the White looks more like the jacked up Impreza. Nice cars though [emoji41]
  22. Welcome, I'm new around here myself but a great bunch of people. I hope you enjoy the car as it will pack loads of fun. [emoji4]

White cars or off white cars are hard to keep clean at the best of time, never mind winter. The colour make no difference to my drive as its a great car to drive. Blue is hard to keep clean as well so front mud guards may be a good investment.
