  1. We can all still go- will just have to hold our own mini-japfest in the car park field! ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Absolutely gutted! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi everyone, Yesterday I started noticing a sort of low-pitched grinding sound when coming to a stop slowly- if I stop harshly there is no sound and if I am just slowing (eg from 50-40) I don't hear the sound. I replaced both sets of disks and pads in June of last year- and haven't heard anything from the wear indicators so I don't think it's metal to metal contact... I'm having a look and changing pads anyway over the weekend to hope it cures it but if the noise doesn't go, does anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks in advance! 4. Gambit just been reading up on the japfest website- it says there a minimum of five cars is needed for a club stand- surely this means we can still go as a club even if more people don't pay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I paid yesterday as soon as you put the form up haha! I'm also happy to pay a bit extra if numbers aren't enough Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Hi all, i'm after a set of prodrive blue springs for my 2.0R- 1) to lower it ever so slightly and even out the arch gap between the front and rear, and 2) improve handling. I have seen multiple sets of the prodrive black STi springs for sale but have read that these will not be suitable for my car as the STi has a significantly different weight distribution and these springs could actually make the handling WORSE! My question is: does anyone know where on earth I can find a set of the blue ones?! Thanks in advance everyone :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Awesome! Never been on a stand so not too sure how it worked- count me (and my girlfriend) in! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Please add me to the list! :) me and my girlfriend will be coming, will she need to buy a separate ticket or is the ticket per car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Hi guys! Just a bit of an update: Got the wheel fixed as advised and car flew through the MOT on Tuesday... Bar an advisory 'slight play in NSF wheel bearing'- I have no doubt that this was caused by the unbalancing of the buckled wheel, so i've learned my lesson: wheel damage can cost more than the repair of the wheel if not dealt with swiftly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Well if you do, good luck- let me know how it goes :) As for me i'll just do what you've done to save myself a lot of soldering! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Best to be safe than sorry with the plates then... As for the wheel, looks like i'm gonna have to look into getting it repaired then! Cheers for the advice buddy :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Number plates aren't a massive issue as i'm sure my boss would be fine letting me make a few at work- just the hassle of changing them I can't really be bothered with lol! Verdict on the wheel then- get it sorted before MOT? :/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hi all, I have my MOT coming up (expires on 3rd March), and was wondering a few things... My passenger front wheel looks like this: It holds air perfectly fine, and before I noticed it, would be fine at high speed too! Is this likely to get through an MOT, or am I best getting it repaired ASAP? Also, my front number plate is a shorter width than standard, and i've been told I need to get a standard sized one with the safety mark and makers' postcode- I have already bought this ready for MOT day, but will I need to get a rear one too? (My current rear is correct size but has no safety mark or makers postcode) Sorry about all the questions, but thanks in advance to anyone who replies! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. In short- yes and no! As you can see from the pictures it looks like subaru have used the 'eeny meeny miny mo' method of deciding where to put each wire... Thinking it'd be a lot easier to convert the bulbs to red and wipe off the green coating on the faces of my original clocks than try and wire up an STI cluster! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Little bit of a problem... The two 'outer' connecters are identical to the WRX ones... The middle one however has an extra two pins on each side of the connecter.. This doesn't make sense to me as surely my cluster would have fewer functions than a WRX or STI cluster ergo fewer pins- not more? Anyway- this is beginning to look a bit more complicated than originally thought! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Wow brilliant couldn't have asked for a better answer! I'll check mine later after work- thanks! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So as long as I get a blob/hawkeye STi cluster, it should fit (just need to wire in the rev limiter light properly)? Also just had a thought about the mileage- i'm assuming the displayed mileage will be from the donor STi, not MY car's ECU? If this is the case, is there anyway to reprogram the mileage to the correct mileage for my car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Have you sorted this yet buddy? I had the same problem and found it was a tiny gap between where two bits of metal join in the boot (hard to explain without pictures)... Just filled the gap with sealant and haven't had the problem since! Let me know and i'll get some pics for you if you still haven't managed to sort it :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Cheers for the reply! My plan was to just take out the bulbs of the warning lights that come on? Don't fancy driving round having my dash lit up like a christmas tree! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi buddy, I have installed LED strips in two scoobies now, and run them parallel both times- I assume you're tapping the power from the dome light so they come on when a door is opened? Both times I did this in parallel and there was plenty of light and no supply issues! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi all, I have a 2007 2.0R-Sport and am looking to spend my money on aesthetic mods rather than waste it trying to squeeze power out of a non-turbo. One of the things I was thinking of doing was installing STi clocks- could anyone tell me if this will work? Are the connections the same (ie plug and play), and will the speed and rev counter be accurate (I assume so as I believe it is all done with electronic sensors?). Finally, will there be any issues (other than IC spray light, LSD light and other lights that would flash up because my car doesn't have them)? Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Cheers buddy! Well i'm a little bit of the way there with the spoiler hey! :D
  23. Hi everyone, my girlfriend bought me an impreza top from mufflebox for my birthday and they sent her two forum stickers and a letter asking me to join, so here I am! I've owned two scoobies- a 1997 sport I got when I was 15 for £500- a project car (made a few bad modification choices on that which are to never be repeated!), and my current car, a 2007 2.0R (or R-Sport). Look forward to getting involved and glad this is a friendly forum, especially to those of us who aren't experts on everything mechanical!
