  1. Yer would expect lots of police about got to be an easy money day for them. -- I make Films and Website for people
  2. You have me worried now, if I should have gone for the off the shelf. That is what I thought about it, as the invidia one is tested. -- I make Films and Website for people
  3. Bit of paint work today. -- I make Films and Website for people
  4. Best thing to do would be call them and say it needs fixing by so and so date give them a week or something and if it's not started by then you will take that as a refusal to fix the problem and will be getting the work carried out else where and billing them for it. You will also be contacting trading standards about them not following the sales of good act. Just been though all of this myself they have to fix it, refund you or replace the car if they refuse you can get it done and bill them and if they don't pay you can go to court and they will be forced to pay. But first step is you have to give them a date it needs to be done by -- I make Films and Website for people
  5. Not sure what time I am setting off but will let gambit make the plan. -- I make Films and Website for people
  6. I thought dealers where offering remaps or performance packs on the new car claiming 350bhp with just a map?
  7. Hope so, should only take a day he said it might be 2 with the downpipe but should just scrape by. Might hear me coming this time, no more stealth WRX.
  8. Thanks I have booked it in for the 13th going full Turbo back 3 inch so should be a nice system when done. I tend to panic when getting anything done custom as I can not research it that much and the first time I see it is after its done. Looking forward to, I thought if I wait to long I will just end up waiting forever.
  9. Yer coz I have a clue where I am going.....
  10. Gambit put the flag on the roof of your car and we can find you from a distance. -- I make Films and Website for people
  11. Would I be right in thinking a custom one would sound the same as the invidia? or very close at least as using the same number of resonators and the same size piping? Just really dont want it to end up sounding crap haha.
  12. If people use Waze, its a free sat nav app you can add friends and see each other on the satnav when driving and also share ETA's and things. Could make a convoy easier if people get lost in traffic and so on.
  13. Wasn't asking you this time haha. Just don't want to wast my money. Love this car so want to make sure I do it right. -- I make Films and Website for people
  14. Yer good point I guess I just know what to expect with an off the shelf one, so like that idea. -- I make Films and Website for people
  15. Also do you need 400bhp? I know HP is like ram you always need more, but with a few simple mods you should get into the 350-370's that should be a very rapid car and faster than most stuff on the road. -- I make Films and Website for people
  16. That said mine was sold with a 1 year warranty and had a total engine failure that basically had the full engine replaced with new parts. Warranty company wouldn't pay as they only cover the first part that failed in my case the water pump. Lucky I had had it less than 6 months so the dealer had to fix it or give me my money back. The car was standard at the time though. So warrantys might be nice to have but only if they pay out not sure how good the standard one subaru use is. -- I make Films and Website for people
  17. Hi Guys, So I have been looking for an exhaust for my WRX Hatch and after doing Gambits head in talking about them all day I thought I would see what people have to say. I am looking at getting a turbo back system going to be a invidia N1 Street or a custom made one. The guy at the custom place said he can make me up something like the N1 from the pictures. It was going to be about £200-£300 cheaper from him fitted and done on the car. So am I crazy for still having my eye on the actual N1? Just wondering what people think about going for a branded tested product or a custom version from someone who is good at what they do. Money is a factor but not the main one. I am interested in better flow for more power and more sound. Also the custom place is booked up for 3 wheels but I could have the N1 in a few days. Thank for any input. 20. Yer thought this was the case its different for most cars but as everything is electric on a car make sense the first thing used on one is the laptop. -- I make Films and Website for people

  23. Found this its for a hawkeye not the newer hatch but should give an idea of power for mods: Hawkeye 2.5 litre STi from 2006 – 2007 …. In std form they are 265bhp give or take and have boost at about 1 bar peak dropping to about 0.8 bar at the top end. so… choices .. (all based on using vpower) 1. Keep the car std but just remap for more oomph and better fuel economy. A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier and hold higher boost levels for longer but the map will be geared to running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically) as it wont be possible to push too much boost with both cats in place. Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and a backbox are fitted at this stage but not essential – the backbox just adds some burble to the quiet hawkeye exhaust. With a custom remap on the standard car typically this would get the car to around 310-320bhp with significant torque improvements. 2. Sports cat in downpipe – plus remove centre cat A full custom remap will bring boost in much earlier due to the lower back pressure and hold much higher boost levels. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter is fitted at this stage (on top of the sports cat downpipe and exhaust system). A walbro 255 fuel pump is highly recommended. It is also advisable to change to NGK 7 grade spark plugs at your next service. This would get the car to about 340 – 350bhp but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range. 3. Fully Decat Exhaust The low back pressure from removing all the cats reveals the true characteristics of the boxer engine and really sets the 2.5 free. A remap is needed to bring it under control and stop overboosting that will happen enormously with the 2.5 engine. The remap will bring boost in as smooth as possible and most likely get full (and higher ) boost at around 2700 rpm and hold higher boost right through the rev range. The remap will also aim to get it running much more efficiently ( which is also more economically). Typically a Green/K&N/Cosworth air filter and possibly a 3 port solenoid are fitted at this stage (on top of the decat downpipe and exhaust system). This would get the car to about 350-360bhp on the std turbo but a huge boost in torque figures in the mid range and transform the way the car drives on the road. I remember this stage well on my own and it is a fantastic car to drive on the road. A walbro 255 fuel pump is essential. It is also advisable to change to NGK 7 grade spark plugs at your next service (ILFR7H). 4. 350bhp – 400bhp You may be one of the lucky ones and have a car that wants to produce power with the std turbo – the VF43 on the std car can get to around 360-370bhp tops but if you want to get to up closer to 400bhp there are a number of turbo options and rather than list them all here – gimme a shout and see which of the many turbos around could fit your requirements. There are lots of suppliers of turbos and they are changing all the time. The car’s engine, gearbox and clutch (just) can cope with this power. It is adviseable to fit a larger diameter MAF housing by way of a good quality cold air induction kit.
  24. Doing a mod will not void the warranty in most cases just the warranty company might say that the mod coursed the damage. So if you changed your exhaust but the electric seat stopped working you could still clam the seat to be fixed under warranty as the mod had nothing to do with the seat. However getting a remap more more power would void the warranty on just about all the drive systems on the car as you are running more power than the car should be running and you let a 3rd party play with the ecu. But again if the part the fails is not due to your mod you should still be covered. I would have a think about modding such a new car if warranty is important to you. I am not sure if you can take out a private warranty that would cover a modified car. or if you are going to mod the car then dont pay for any warranty's and put the money you saved to one side for non warranty work. Finally depending what the mods are and how dishonest you are feeling you can always put the car back to stock if its going in for a big warranty job, But remaps might be detected even if removed. I am not sure.
  25. Its not that cheap but will see what it would cost to get it reconditioned and do some math.
