Hi to all members from Nottingham
Welcome, I'm in doubt 99% of the time, so I'm sure you'll be able to help me massively! I've got a couple of questions actually, I'll pm you to see if you can help. :D

I've been having a nose around online... found some japanese brochures with the GTV featured http://a15ff11300g.sakura.ne.jp/catalogue/BDBGlegacy/BDBGlegacy.html . Does your front grille badge have the red background? That seems to be one difference I can see. And does it have the Bilstein badge on the back or like a wreath with some writing? I think the leather interior was standard and maybe some sort of wood grained interior? I also thought:- impreza 4-pot calipers on the front are a good sensible mod too, particularly if you're going to be increasing the power! You may need to change your wheels so they fit over them.

UK Must drive roads
I'm about 45minutes from dartmoor. Empty roads and you can see along them for miles. Perfect combination!

They did... I can't remember the difference exactly now. I wouldn't quote me on it, but I think they're a limited edition. And I think came with a 2.2 rather than a 2.0 engine?

Anti lag always seems ridiculously fun! If it's a gtb, I could do with a solenoid box... Mines only from a GT so is limititing the full achievable boost.

Rocker cover gaskets are also a very common thing to go. No worries. Single turbo conversion is another route to go, but quite expensive I think... :/

Blimey! That is a bargain! Wind deflectors are a pain to get hold of. Again though, ebay can throw up all sorts of wonders. I've got a funny feeling that fitting a VTA dump valve to legacies is not the best of ideas. Something to do with the air flow being measured post turbo, so they have 2 recirc valves as standard? Fitting a VTA will throw up all kinds of error codes. I'm not too sure about upgrading turbos etc (I imagine you're probably more knowledgable than me on this) but I'd say spending money on a re-map to try an map out the gap between the turbos a bit and get the best from the new air filter is probably more beneficial?

Here it is http://www.uklegacy.com/forums/index.php/topic/209-legacyimpreza-interchangeability/#entry1608 Also, if you keep an eye out on ebay a lot of the GTBs being broken on there have aftermarket parts on them. What sort of things are you looking to do to it?

A lot of impreza parts will fit the gtb. There's a list of them on the ukLegacy forum somewhere... I'll see if I can find you a link. Welcome, nice to see another GTB! We all like to see some pictures if you've got some?

The new guy
Welcome! Although I can't offer much advice mechanically myself, I can assure you there are plenty of people on here who can :)

New member Ducky saying hello!
Woo, another GTB! Welcome, am I right in saying I've seen you on the UKLegacy forum too? If so, they're just as nice a bunch on here.

Any problems if we use 95 instead of 98?
i used Tesco alot till someone noticed issues with it and his had sedament in it, i have since vowed to only used V power or if im desperate ill put a tiny bit of BP in Surely sediment is only a problem if you let your fuel get low? Or am I being naive about that?

17" vs 18" Wheels
I've got 18s on my legacy, they have to have a lower profile tyre than standard to keep rolling circumfence the same, otherwise you'll end up with your speedo reading slow. But, ultimately, lower profile tyres are considerably more expensive. Particularly if you have to have a slight stretch on them to get the fitment in the arch. When I bought my car it had 215/40/18 which would've cost me about £75+vat each for budgets! Luckily 225s do fit and I got a relatively decent set for £50+vat each. Quite a difference if you're replacing the lot

Opinions please on spoiler
Although you seem pretty decided now, I was just going to mention the likelyhood of a breakers one needing a re-spray anyway... Be good to see it when it's all done, best of luck!

Opinions please on spoiler
Although, after saying all that, it might be worth checking how well the copies fit... You could end up spending just as much if it needs work to make it sit well. Unless you're pretty good with that sort of thing?
-
Opinions please on spoiler
If it's purely for the look, I'd go for copy and spray. Personally, the all same black as apposed to carbon will look better, but everyone's different. Nobody's going to know its a copy (except anyone reading this) and, personally again, I think the high level spoilers look great!
-
Opinions please on spoiler
A good copy will always sell on, surely? You never know what might pop up when you've got yours. Sod's law it'll be quite soon after. Plus, I imagine there's a difference in your review etc so you can make sure it's definitely for you without spending a fortune?

- Boost cut?
Hope somebody can help... My car should be able to handle about 24 psi, but when I get to around 18-20 I get a drop right back down to about 10 psi. I was told by the previous owner that I've got a solenoid box from a lower spec legacy (GT, not GTB). Is anyone able to shed any light on whether this is the cause? Or is it something more sinister? Thanks in advance- Taking the plunge. Legacy
Also, if you're not already on on there, the ukLegacy forum is packed full of info as well as equally nice guys to help you out :). (I'm assuming it's alright it's alright to say this as meets and things are often organised with them?)- Taking the plunge. Legacy
I had a 95 gx 2.2 and considering it's age, it didn't hang about. I'm just a sucker for a turbo really! Or 2 in my case, I'm almost certainly overcompensating for something!- Taking the plunge. Legacy
Hope you enjoy it! Looks very nice. You'll be itching to get the GT now!- Taking the plunge. Legacy
From personal experience, I'd say the compromise will cost you more in the long run. Spending 3k on a high mileage car, the miles are only going to go up and you'll never get the money back on it. A gt will never really loose any value and although will have slightly higher running costs, I'm sure you'll think it's worth it for what you really want. Go and test drive the GT, I'm sure you won't look back!- Taking the plunge. Legacy
It's difficult not to with cars like these!- Taking the plunge. Legacy
Not to mention money saved on petrol... I love my gtb, wouldn't change it for the world, but I genuinely used less petrol in my gx when it had a fuel leak! Arguably my heavy right foot is a contributing factor to my sub 20mpg - Boost cut?
