  1. I know, I've noticed that! I don't know if I'll be driving around for a while, I think I'm going to have to get the engine out sort out a couple of issues :(.
  2. Welcome! Where abouts in Devon are you?
  3. Good news! It's all done. Bad news... My car seems to have developed a tappety noise and more of a (dare I say it) knocking. I've got my fingers crossed that it's the alternator bearings as it's not really got any rhyme or reason to doing it and seems to vary depending on the gradient of hill I'm driving on
  4. I've borrowed a flexi screwdriver which should do it, but I'll give it a go from underneath if not :)
  5. from the IC to the secondary turbo. Although the other one doesn't want to come off either!
  6. Well, 2 and half hours of brut force and swearing and I'm still arguing with the intercooler. The problem is mainly from a jubilee clip facing downward, instead of to the side! I'll have another fight with it tomorrow and hopefully get somewhere a bit nearer!
  7. HGood plan, I'll see what happens when I get it apart... The only thing that might stop it on mine is the primary turbo
  8. That's exactly the sort of picture I've been trying to find! Thanks again, the chap in the car shop next to work has given me a connector piece for the 2 pipes
  9. Cheers Stants, I think that's the plan. I'll be able to see them once I get the the intercooler off tomorrow. That's after it gets back from the garage so they can sort out my rattly heat shield. Along with the squeal from the rear brakes, she sounds like an absolute shed at the moment!
  10. My heater matrix has given up again, so I'm just going to cap it off this time and deal with it in the nicer weather. Am I right in thinking its the pipe on the driver's side that goes into the car, under te IC that I need to be bypassing?
  11. It might sound incredibly stupid/obvious, but have you checked your tyre pressures? My stepdad thought his steering was locking up when he was reversing on his bmw, turned out the tyre pressures were just a bit lower than they should be.
  12. Mine just says legacy on the log book... Some imports are pretty vague. B4 is just the model variation name... Twin turbo wagons are GT/GTB, saloons are RSB. I'd assume the B4 is for the gen 4 twin scroll?
  13. I got my payday mixed up... I'll have to do it next Friday!

Not that I'm complaining... My car is so much more fun than any night out

    Your age

I've just finished a 2 year apprenticeship, I reckon I should have a degree in tea making! I think my car has made me more sensible... Although that's probably just because my beer tokens keep going to shell

    Your age

Got a feeling I might be the youngest... I'm only 19!
  17. Definitely external, seeming like its offside rear. I'm just about to order new rear disks and pads, I'll see if if rectifies the problem!
  18. Good plan, I can get OEM ones from ICP for £14 to do all 4 rear pads. I only noticed they needed as my car has developed an annoying intermittent squeak/whine. Although after a bit more driving today I noticed it doesn't seem to stop when the brakes are on. It doesn't seem to relate to road or engine speed much either. Any other ideas? Is has a sort of car alarm type rythm to it if that helps at all...
  19. I think Stants has a twin map system for better fuel economy (could be wrong though), I inagine this could apply for what you're after too though?
  20. I'm having difficulty finding uprated rear pads for my car... Might have to go for OEM then spend the money up front
  21. Didn't realise they'd take a cut! I just thought it'd be a bit easier for you... I can pay some tomorrow if you get your PayPal thingymajig up :)
  22. Welcome! Pictures are always highly encouraged! I'd always say a legacy is the best choice but then owning one, I would say that. I wouldn't be too bothered about putting money on you searching for a twin turbo one once you've finished with this one, rather than the outback ;)
  23. I had a brief glance at them, I'll have another proper look now :)
  24. It's looking like I need new pads all round and disks on the rear. I've been looking at EBC pads for the rear, I'm torn between greenstuff and redstuff. The redstuffs are £5 more, but do I really need them? I'm not planning on doing any track days anytime soon... Then on the front I'm at a complete loss... I have impreza 4 pot calipers. Am I best to go for the same pads as I get on the rear or does anyone else use anything different on their own cars? I've never had to buy 'performance' brake parts, as it were, so this is all a bit of a minefield for me! Thanks in advance
  25. Can you get more if these made? If so, is it possible to do a 'jap style' one for the front? Happy to pay a bit more if needs be :)
