  1. Tarmac Sportz seem to be able to get hold of them and at £611 inc delivery doesnt seem too bad however i have heard mix reviews about them mainly being way too loud! As this is my daily I dont want to get something that is going to make driving unbearable on long distances but I want one to bring out the roar. The cheapest system is the Cobra but the videos on YouTube are dreadful and you cant get an idea of the sound.
  2. Im currently getting 25.8 on average. This is a mix of dual carriageway and B roads.
  3. Do you do yellow fog covers for the WRX hatch?
  4. The only car i have ever named is my Hillman Imp which is known as Hilda!
  5. It would be really good if we could arrange a local meet in the Portsmouth/Waterlooville/Petersfield area. Anyone fancy it??
  6. Regional County/Borough/District: Portsmouth, Hampshire Car Model: 2008 Impreza WRX (Hatchback) Any Mods: Current - Cosworth Panel Filter Planned - Prodrive GT1 Gold Alloys, HKS SSQ DV, Invidia N1 Street Exhaust, K Sport 6-Pot Brake (Front) Conversion, Carbon Splitter, Zunsport Grill, Subaru4You Remap Picture:
  7. Thats a surprise as I have recently fitted one and I noticed straight away that it felt better.
  8. I am looking to bin the old tired exhaust currently on my car and I have no idea which system to go for. I have been looking at these: Invidia N1 Race Invidia N1 Street Hayward & Scott. I dont want it too loud as its my daily and spend upto 1 hour driving but i want something to release that special Subaru burble. What would people recommend?
  9. Has anyone tried the EBC Redstuff pads with Ultimax discs? I also need rears very very soon and have been looking at those. Thanks Tim
  10. Depens what fin has been fitted. I believe they do three typres which change the frequency. Purple is for the loud squeek, black (which you get with it) has a slight woosh with a mild squeek and then gold which is a low swoosh sound. If you want the pppssstttt sound dont get HKS! ha ha
  11. I dont think the snobbish attitude is just with Subaru owners, as I have similar issues with Imp owners just because i have highly modified mine. I guess its "each to their own" and if it makes you happy then so what! Main reason i am going for the HKS is I have owned one on a previous car (not a scoob) and it was perfect.
  12. I was advised on the weekend that this is just a myth that all dump valves causes Subaru's to run poor. It appears its just certain brands and I was advised to get either a Baileys or HKS SSQV.
  13. If I was you I would also look for a HKS SSQ with gold fin insert (quieter) as Subaru4You informed me at the weekend that they have never had issues with these and dont need a remap. Good Luck!!
  14. I have one for sale in the For Sale Section. £28 delivered to your door! Dont need a remap with these as Pete said. You only need a remap once going turbo back exhaust and induction kit.
  15. Did you have the Type R GT? Mine was *Censored*! Spent most of the time at Honda. First issue was the side "Type R" decals were put on a dirty car so they came unstuck after a few days, then the rear camber was out which was causing some lets say interesting driving, then the fuse box got replaced not once but three times!!! Lost a fortune on that car!!
  16. My first modification on any car I have owned is to bin the paper air filter element and replace for a more "manly" cotton/foam filter. I have used most brands in my previous cars (Green, K&N, Pipercross, Powertech, HKS) so when I browsed one of the online Subaru shops and I came across Cosworth I instantly snapped one up. The review on the Cosworth page looked promising "Cosworth High Flow Synthetic Air Filters are constructed from a proprietary synthetic, non-woven single layer, pleated polyester filter media that requires no oiling. For an OE-like fit, the filter housing is injection moulded from high impact polystyrene or polypropylene. Each Cosworth air filter has been engineered to fit the vehicles original air box providing a true cold air supply to the engine. Cosworth Performance Air Filters also provide increased air flow when compared to original equipment air filters. Improved performance Superior filtration Exceptional dust holding capacity Reduced restriction (10%+ compared to OE filters) Over 98% efficiency (ISO5011:200 Fine Dust Test)" When it arrived it looked very similar to the original however instantly you could tell the quality was far superior to the OEM version. So over the weekend I popped into Subaru4you in Newbury for the cars 60k service and I got them to fit the new Cosworth panel filter. Len advised that these are pretty good filters and prefer these over the induction kits. So whats it like you must be saying now??.... Well what an improvement!!! The car feels to pick up alot quicker and doesnt seem to be as hesitant in higher gears. The acceleration seems so much smoother and feels like it has increased some performance (unable to state 100% fact as didnt do rolling road). I would recommend getting one of these filters for your car as for £35 it really is a no brainer! The only downside over an "oiled" version is that they need replacing every 30k miles like the OEM but for £35 who cares!!!
  17. Not sure Cosworth do but I think Pipercross do. Just spoke to Len at Subaru4you and he said that the Cosworth ones are very good and lasts 30k miles.
  18. Reduced to £28 inc delivery ... These are over £34 plus delivery so grab a bargain! If it doesn't sell I'll put it on ebay
  19. Everlong by Foo Fighters.. Gets my drumming on my steering wheel and rockin' out every single time!
  20. Its a drive belt i think as when the car is cold and i hard lock left it squeeks and i lose power steering for a few seconds. I spoke to the garage and they told me its all the symptons of a drive belt so £33 to fix.
  21. Well tomorrow the car is going into Subaru4you for its major service (60k), new Cosworth panel filter fitted and for the annoying squeek fixed!
  22. Update.... After a short email exchange with Currys, they have done the decent thing and they have agreed to collect the TV and assess at my cost £95 and if its found to be faulty (which i know it is) they will refund me my £95 and fix at no extra cost! I am worried thought that this fault is the tip of the ice berg and i am wondering if i should buy a new one and use this in my office...
  23. Sorry its an eBay advert but i quite like the look of this one .... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221361119155?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  24. Where could i get the adaptor?
  25. Thanks for the help guys. My car is going into Subary4You on Saturday so i will ask them which one to go for. I have been looking at the Turbo Smart Hybrid.
