  1. Well I found the reason why the rear washer was not working well. There is a split in the tube, it is where the tube goes into the tailgate. No idea how to change it though, does not look like it can be repaired as split all the way around and hanging on only just. Not at home at the moment to check but would this tube be ok? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4mm-BLACK-SILICONE-WINDSCREEN-WASHER-JET-HOSE-5-32-TUBE-/260737807743?hash=item3cb52f357f Reference the rear wiper not working I thought I would try replacing the relay located n/s rear near under light cluster. Problem is I cant get it out. Wife has tried with smaller hands and it will not budge. Is there some knack to it? Slowly figuring things out.
  2. Its a question the ladies normally ask me, first time I have had to ask others though ;)
  3. Well figured out why the rear washer is not working well. Had a good look around and wondered why the boot was a bit wet. Looked at the tube from the body to tailgate and that was fine. Then removed the o/s light access door and it was soaked inside. Not good for lights!!! Anyway, was doing this in the dark so cant see where the leak is yet but it looks like somewhere along that tube. Not looked under the car yet as have a bad back. At least I have an idea now. Still no clue on the rear wiper itself though. Not sure if to change the relay now I have found it. It clicks on and off so not sure if that means its working. Appreciate all the help.
  4. Umm, have figured out reference the rear wiper the washer does work although just dribbles out a bit plus I can here a click sound when I turn the wiper on. It clicks when I turn it on just the once. Hope this makes some sense.
  5. Figured it out now.
  6. Really helpful folk here so welcome and good luck.
  7. Excuse the title How do I get this clip thing back into the hole, been trying for ages and manage to get half of it in.
  8. Cheers Matt, what adapter rings do you suggest? No idea and no good with mdf. Also like the look of these speakers and head unit. Not sure if they would fit though? Also not sure if to get an amp and/or sub etc. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008N53RU4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=G9D0U3PGDN6I&coliid=I3XRX9SAULI77 http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008N53N26/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=G9D0U3PGDN6I&coliid=IJMDA4TTHJCCH http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00RXHCEG6/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=G9D0U3PGDN6I&coliid=I2Q5Z37QIJ2PO9
  9. Something like these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JVC-600-WATTS-6-5-Inch-16cm-Dual-Cone-Car-Van-Door-Dash-Shelf-Speakers-Pair-/371382435088?hash=item56781e3d10 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JVC-600-WATTS-6-5-Inch-16cm-Dual-Cone-Car-Van-Door-Dash-Shelf-Speakers-Pair-/371382435088?hash=item56781e3d10
  10. It is funny, they look at my classic wagon and think they can take it easily lol. Only had it a week and been there 3 times. Close to our Mcdonalds too.
  11. Welcome Zippy. Nice looking car :) I have to admit I like driving around where our local boy racers hang out. They then drive to the traffic lights with two lanes and always want a little fun. I cant say no lol. Bit sad. I only take it up to the speed limit though.... Honest officer, I do!!
  12. Hi Matt, I am not far from Peterborough. Does the club do much in the way of events?
  13. Hi all, I am looking for some new sound for my Classic Impreza wagon. It has single din original stereo and original speakers. I want the best sound for a cheap price plus need to factor costs for someone fitting. Would need to be a single din head unit and would want it to have Bluetooth so I can use phone hands free with it etc. Don't mind about sub and amp etc. Just want a decent sound. Like good sound over loudness etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I had to select a budget I would say not much more than £200 including fitting. Although am prepared to pay more if worth it and needed.
  14. Yeah, have had a look under dash and only fuses there I think, replaced fuse already and no joy. Not sure of one in the boot. No idea where? Have tried to look. Thanks for replying.
  15. Excellent, many thanks indeed.
  16. Hi all, I want to remove this head unit but am not sure how. I am assuming some keys maybe? Not sure what sort though. New to all this sort of thing. Below is a picture, not great light. The surround comes off but no screws or anything can be seen. Many thanks.
  17. Well I replaced the mirror switch and they work fine now which is good. I cannot seem to find the relay for rear wiper. Below is a pic of my engine compartment relays. Not sure which one or where it is to check or change. Thanks.
  18. Many thanks for your advise. No I did not try the relay, would be a great start though!! Are relays easy to get hold off? Are they just standard from Halfords, no special sort of thing. I have a multi meter but need to learn to use it. Have the basics I think so will you tube how to use for make sure. I will have a look at the back of the stereo, how do I get the head unit out? I know super simple stuff and lots of questions but please bare with me. For a 31 year old fella pretty embarrassing having so little knowledge but really do appreciate the advice. Many thanks.
  19. Hi all, recently purchased a 2000 reg Subaru Impreza 2000 turbo and it has a few electrical faults I would like to sort. I am not very mechanical so need plenty of help. 1. Electric mirrors only move up and down on both sides. No side to side. I assume the switch is wrong so have ordered another from ebay but have no idea how to fit it. 2. Rear window wiper does not work. I have replaced the fuse but still does not work. No idea what to do next. 3. Stereo is original however does not work on passenger side or passenger side rear. Only sound comes from drivers side speakers. Again, no idea what to check. I would prefer to do what I can myself and would appreciate any help with any of these issues. Thanks.
  20. Cheers for the welcome guys. I joined another Scooby forum today as well as spend to much time online. Need plenty of advice so like to belong to the communities. Is there any sort of thread for general simple questions rather than starting a new topic for things?
  21. Hi all, I am new here with my first Impreza as pictured below. Its a 2000 reg Impreza 2000 turbo. I am not mechanically minded but love cars. Got the car a few days ago and needs a small amount of work but love it already. Tim Farmer mechanic lives local and will be coming to have a look and service it. I have heard good things about him. Needs a little body work doing to. Known faults so far are rear window wiper not working, tried replacing the fuse but no luck. Passenger and rear passenger side speakers not working. Still has original radio. In fact the whole car is original. There is plastic missing off the inner wheel arch. Not sure what this is called? I would like for the car to have aircon but this seems to be expensive although can source the parts for a reasonable cost. Need someone to fit it though. I enjoy forums and look forward to being part of this community.
