Elusive Exhaust System for 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.0 Non Turbo
Mattb replied to Arbor_Al_89's topic in Subaru Impreza Club
Hi. I have a complete exhaust for a 2000 turbo sat in the garage. I sourced the separate bits on eBay as they came along, manifolds, cats, the lot! The center resonator and back box were only a month old when they were removed to fit stainless ones.. They will be out there if you have time to look. A centre section and back box from Subaru is £800 plus vat. I nearly fell over when he told me! There’s a few 2007 estates at breakers yards on eBay, you could see if they have some good second hand sections? Good luck. -
Hi and welcome. Too new for me but looks nice in red.
-
Hi. The part number you want is 57651FA040 You can get them direct from Subaru for a couple of quid. It’s surprising what you can get from them at a good price.
-
£15 dirty derv but still a bargain. The guy had loads of stuff but I had to stop myself. There’s a gear box undertray coming this week too. £30 eBay bargain.
-
I’ve been and bought an undertray and got some wheel arch liners with the vents still attached for £30 nicker! It’s a deal it’s a steal..

They can leak through in a number of places mate, the boot seal it’s self, the mastic that glues the rear light clusters in may have a weak spot or the rear cluster it’s self may be letting water through or the rear window... I’d pour water out of a hose pipe or can over certain places and check after each area to narrow it down. Classics are prone for condensation in the boot and moisture can build up that way. Not sure on the later models though.

Put the front end back together. Count down till April 1st, bit of rent and renew the insurance and we’re off!
-
The fronts are 5.25” some kits off eBay come with adapter rings. I changed the front ones and upgraded them on Saturday along with cleaning the window guides to stop the windows getting scratched to bits. The rear ones on the estate I’ve no idea. I used some 6.5” speakers and got some 180cm universal covers to get away from the horrible looking 6x9s that were thrown on top of the rear parcel shelf.

i don’t have aircon in mine and there’s only one fan and that’s on the N/S or passenger side. I’d run the engine up till the fan kicks in to be sure. I’ve seen people wire up the aircon fan to a switch for when they are in traffic, hot weather and track days.

A the the front one? The rear one is 22690AA810, I think anyway.. good luck.

I started taking the drivers door off to change the speakers and thought I’d tackle the cause of the scratches that appear on every classic over time. Start by taking the plastic cover, window switch panel and door handle surround off Then unscrew all the Phillips screws you can see apart from the one behind the door handle. Undo the electric connection to the window switch gently pry the door card away from the door at the bottom, the clips should pop off, mine did. Then slide the door card up and off the hooks at the top of the door. You’ll then be looking at the top of the door like in the pic. undo the two bolts in the next photo then take the front top metal bracket off rotate the window guide and bracket up and towards you to release repeat on the back guide. The window should then pull towards you and expose the back clips that can be released with a flat screw driver. It is a fiddly job but you can do it. You can take all the guides away and clean them up, they will be solid and glazed looking with crud. Scrape with a screw driver and wash out with soap and water. the one on the left is a brand new one I got from importcarparts.co.uk. 61256FE020. If you want the part number. When you put the guides back in pull the window towards you and clip those in first. Then rotate the guides in bracket first. Place the metal clip back on and tighten the nut. you may like me have to push the window away from you with your head to get the guides adjusted up correctly. There is adjustment on the guides and clip with the bolt slack. Once compleated hook the door card over the clips at the top, push the plastic clips at the bottom till they clip in and tighten up the screws. Replace the caps and window switch cover. Hope this helps you stop those annoying scratches on your windows! 😡😡

I had a problem like that once and it was the thrust release bearing. It wasn’t on a Subaru though..

Hi. I go to imortcarparts.co.uk they seem to have a lot of numbers listed. I also call my local Subaru garage and Gary being a helpful chap sorts me out with numbers and if they’re cheap enough the genuine parts. Just wondering, which parts for what model are you after?

Where can I find parts for my 2002 impreza gx 2.0?

They deliver there but it costs an extra few quid. My advice is order a few parts together instead of individualy. -

I took out the old dated 6x9s and replaced them with something that looks standard ish... grills for the speakers to cover up the old holes only cost a couple of quid!

Hi. If you go to eurocarparts online and type your registration in the yellow box all parts will come up underneath. The parts will be in certain categories like service parts, brakes, clutch kits etc. I think you’ll find most parts will be the same as the wrx. Good luck. -

Yeah get them put on. Gotta love a classic. -

There’s an oil separator plate to the right of the rear crank shaft. The early ones were plastic with Philips screws. The upgrades are metal with hex bolts. The early ones can start leaking over time. You fix one oil leak and another starts...
-
Welcome. That’s unlucky that it came on just after buying it! I’d get the codes read on the ecu. There are so so many things it could be, sensors galor that could put that light on... Just out of interest, is it standard or has it got a few mods on it - ie decat exhaust or uprated air filter?

Anthonydoo looks like he’s selling an rb5 spoiler. See if he’ll sell his wheels. Lol.
-
Now then, The wheels you want are called speedlines. There’s a few sets on eBay if no one has any. Looks like they all might need painting to be the correct 86F blue steel though... Good luck
