Seminole81's 2006 Widetrack STi Build
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Build Threads
What Tidgy said from my Googling haha. It's definitely a STI as I checked the VIN. True. Going to for sure. I think it might be the thermostat if I'm honest. Cars from Singapore where it's always hot, leave thermostat open/bypass/take off whatever, keep car cool all the time and no need for heat. -

Could be a few different things, but I doubt that's one of them? Temp sensor, heater core (matrix or whatever you want to call it), radiator are all first to check. System might just need flushed. Luckily I've got the warranty and have been in touch with JM over it. -
Seminole81's 2006 Widetrack STi Build
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in Subaru Build Threads
Yeah. I'm just curious to as if it's maybe already been done like I said as it's for a SARD FPR. Would have to take it apart to find out, something I don't particularly want to do at this time of the year haha, hence why the current plans are nice little easy bits. 😊😉 -
Help, looking to purchase Hawkeye STi
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in New Members Introductions
Cheers, moving here: -
Hi everyone! Little bit of background info on me for those that missed my introduction post in the new members section. My name's Steve, and I live in the lovely North East in the Tyne and Wear area. I'm originally from the States and always been into cars, especially Japanese ones, although I do still appreciate the old American classic muscle cars.'69 Camaro or Charger anyone? I was pretty big into Honda's and built with my friends a pretty decent motor. I even had a 2005 Honda 600RR. Unfortunately, I moved here about 7 years ago to be with my now wife (who's awesome by the way for letting me get this haha) before I could get it up and running. Anyways, I've finally got my first Scoobie, a 2006 STi. Absolutely love it! Overall, fairly good condition, few little stone chips scratches, but it's a 10 year old car in pretty good nick all in. It's a Type UK imported from Singapore with a full service history, and a few little mods like a Zero Sports intake and radiator, DEFI gauges, etc. Original sale listing: http://jm-imports.co.uk/index.php/2006-subaru-impreza-gdb-sti-widetrack-6-speed-manual/ And some pics since I picked her up: Overall, haven't done too much yet to her as funds are a bit limited now, but I do have some plans in mind. Things done already: Taken gauges off the awful rack (see the original listing photos) they had and had JM put in the triple centre hood and a twin A pillar pods. Although I'm not overly happy with this as they've screwed it on at the top! Current issues? Heat doesn't seem to work all the time even after warming up? Maybe faulty heater core, although noticed the fans on the centre console pop out easily and don't click in. Gearbox groans a bit at full lock turns, read this is normal? Noisey interior road noise, again read this is normal? Pretty squeaky when going over speed bumps MPG really low at moment, but still getting use to car so might be ok Current near future plans: Upgrade head unit and speakers as current are stock Wind Deflectors (anyone got these? Still torn on if I want them) Fog light covers STi floor mats, current are rubber and feet slide all over on them! Try and clean up interior a bit more (leftover sticky goo stuff where old gauges were mounted, clean seats and headliner properly etc.) Rid of awful switch that does nothing? Touch up paint with OEM pen? Anyone experience with one? Future plans, maybe: Suspension mods (roll bars, etc.) New alloys (totally undecided on these at moment, want something nice like Volk maybe?) Front lip, maybe a rear lip too Snowboard roof rack? Think these look cool. Debating on springs or coilovers Fully decat exhaust Fuel pump (already has FPR so might have this?) Forge engine New spark plugs Front mount intercooler Bigger turbo Bigger injectors Full tune Full respray? Think that's about everything I can think of for now!

Help, looking to purchase Hawkeye STi
Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in New Members Introductions
Is this something that should be looked at? Or is it just noise? That should of been caught on a MOT? From what I've read, it's just the STi transmission, it groans a bit? -
Aye but surely it wouldn't be like 10mpg less?

Yokohama Advance Sport V105 225/45/17 on stock STi alloys -
Yep, clicked and then I fill it up even more so it's almost coming out haha. Yeah that's what I thought though. It's not very spirited driving I'm doing, and I always wait till it's warmed up until I start boosting fully.

rear speaker question
Seminole81 replied to ludey dudey's topic in Subaru Audio / Electronics / Security
Ok, whilst on the topic, I'll be looking to upgrade mine on my 2006 STi. All stock at the moment, but it sounds like the front has more sound than the rears? No fade on either way, does that sound (see what I did there?) right? -

Seminole81 replied to Seminole81's topic in New Members Introductions
Another note, are Subaru's supposed to be fairly loud road noise wise inside? Haha. Gearbox creaks and groans a bit at full lock turns, and it sounds a bit creeky when going over speed bumps. -
Yeah...when I worked it out, 1/4 tank gone and only gone 40miles...gunna be like 180mi on a tank of 15 gallons is 12.
-
The B20 bottom end I had produces 140lbs/ft stock, mine wasn't stock. You have to remember as well though, you put the engine I had (B20/Vtec fully built was expecting around 240whp out of it) in something like a EG (92-95) Civic hatch, it'll fly because they're so light (under 2400lbs)
-
I filled it from empty mate. 55L roughly in it. That's similar to what I'm thinking (hoping) has happened though. Just dropped 1/4 tank quickly and will now slow down to a normal rate. Haven't hit full boost loads in it yet as I'm just trying to learn the car at the moment.
-
Not that I'm aware of.

Welcome! 😊

Welcome! Just bought my first Subaru myself 😊 Post up a pic of yours mate. 😊

Haha probably! As an American British person, I can honestly say I am really shocked that moron won the election (loosely, he actually lost the popular vote (the actual votes from voters, not the electoral college which dictates States etc.)). I'm by no means a Hillary fan, and I'm not a Trump fan either. Sad that such a big country could only come up with those two idiots as choices for the next POTUS.

I've got a German Shepherd (10 years old now 😕) and a Staffie cross who's soft as muck (also 10 years old). Can't walk either of them because the shepherd doesn't play well with others (dogs or people, she was brought away from her Mam too early and didn't learn all the social skills) and the Staffie just sounds like you're killing him which is embarrassing and awful. Always wanted an American pitbull though, but apparently they're illegal here?

Honda's aren't that bad. At least they're fairly reliable until you mess with trying to boost them or something. And to say they're torqueless is a bit harsh. They're alright and more of a "entry level" into the car scene I'd say. Also owned a '05 CBR 600RR and I loved it.

Might be Autotesting. Gymkhana is a bit more speed and bigger courses. AutoX is like 2min course max and never above 40mph. Do they do Gymkhana events here in the UK though, because that could be fun.
