  1. So I threw a CEL over the weekend, didn't think it was anything major, but she was misfiring and didn't really wanna go. I thought after extensive googling as I don't own a reader, yet, it was a probably a plug or coil pack. Spoke with JM and he said to bring it back up today and we'd get it sorted so I did. Coil pack clip went, JM fixed it and she's running great again. Had a cheeky stop on the way home, filled up with V-Power and swung by the Gateshead quays for a quick photo op. Here's what I few got 😊😍

    Car Names

Just curious as to if anyone else names their cars...haven't got a name for mine yet. Need to think of one still. So go on, let's hear them!
  3. Aye she was mate. Coil pack went over the weekend, JM fixed it for me as she was within warranty still 😊
  4. Yeah, definitely going to try and pick one up now. Was pretty sold before, but I'm definitely sold on the touch screen now.
  5. Haha you're alright mate! Sounds like we're in the same boat! Personally, if stay away from the cheap Chinese stuff. Alpine or Pioneer for me personally, or even Kenwood. Quality products, buy cheap, buy twice. heres the proper link 😉 http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Din-7-Touch-Display-HD-Car-Stereo-DVD-CD-Player-Bluetooth-Radio-UK-SHIP-/152222382279?hash=item23712938c7%3Ag%3A3lQAAOSwIgNXnA4r&_trkparms=pageci%3A6f33f078-af53-11e6-8023-74dbd1e00596%7Cparentrq%3A831b552a1580a5e0a20e080efff33689%7Ciid%3A1
  6. What about the USB bit? Is there one that goes near where the screen is at AND a spare one to run somewhere else, or is it just one to run? I've got a god awful little switch thing I want to get rid of near the intercooler spray. Want to delete it, but if I can convert it to hold a USB that would be cool... you can see awful switch that does nothing in this photo...also thinking of trying to mount that extra water spray bit (see the little box on the center console near where drivers legs go?) into where the ash tray is at...already got the defi link moved to the glovebox. Hidden 😉
  7. That looks nice. Hawkeye wagon? Heat vents on Centre console give the hawkeye away haha, For the actual amount that is use the navigation I think that would be sufficient. Does that have a CD player as well or no? DAB radio? Can you play movies and stuff from your phone on it too? Lol not that I would, just curious. Think that's definitely what I'm going to be looking for, something along these lines. Halfords had a brand new Pioneer on sale for £99 but it wasn't the touch screen style.
  8. Yeah think I've seen the 120 for about £180 give or take. Just having a look at the 110 now. Have you got a pic of it in your car? 😊 Does it do sat nav as well?
  9. This is what I was looking at. Think it was the DA-120 I saw that caught my eye. About £180 for a used one, which is what I'd do.
  10. Hey guys, looking at buying a double din head unit for my hawkeye STI as I've only got the stock one in. Want something nice, so was thinking along the lines of Pioneer? Want something that can offer hands free as my wife loves to ring me whilst I'm driving (probably so I can't drive properly haha). Open to suggestions. What's everyone got?

  12. Ah you see this is why I asked. How does wifi work? Does the phone and the reader need to be on the same wifi network as each other to work. Looks a decent little set that.
  13. As title suggests, what fault code readers do people have? Thinking about picking one up as I've already had my first CEL thrown. Thinking it's a bad coil pack at the moment as I'm misfiring, or a plug. Had a quick look on Amazon, but don't know much about them. Don't want to spend a fortune, and anything PC based is out of the question at the moment because I don't have a laptop. Thinking bluetooth to iPhone at the moment, as I'm not sure what WiFi advantages are? Hoping to keep it under £20?
  14. Haha supposed to say like! Love autocorrect... Sounds like this is going to give the best finish over a aerosol can or paint pen/pot.
  15. Yeah I was looking at the Subaru ones. What's the chipex stuff Mike? Easy to use? I don't have loads of experience in paint touch ups...
  16. As title suggests, I'm looking for some floor mats in the carpet for my 06 STI. Thanks 😊
  17. Did you ever find any? I want some, but I want them in blue and with the logo on them.
  18. Has anyone used one of these before to do touch ups to scratches/stone chips? I've got a few small scratches and a few small stone chips on my STI and am thinking about buying one to do the touch ups with. I know it's a skilled practice, just curious to if anyone has experience with them and how easy they are and how they look? http://m.ebay.com/itm/191840581233?_mwBanner=1
  19. Cheers mate. I read somewhere there was a adjustable wheel inside the car, but mine doesn't seem to have that which leads me to believe it's the self levelling headlights. I'll have a look over the weekend. 😊
  20. There's neither of those near me 😕
  21. Haha poor pigeon!
  22. Yeah a bit, cheers mate. Been looking all over for the adjustment wheel my 06 supposedly has and can't find it. Must be self levellers, think I'm going to have to do a bit of work and adjust them up a bit 🤔😈
  23. Don't remember that if I'm honest, but I've only been here about 7 years. What that article says though is that all the fuel is made to a certain grade. Yea, obviously the higher octane the better, but there's nothing "wrong" with say, a supermarket 97 RON compared to a 97 RON from Shell. Anyone could have a "bad batch" unlucky for ASDA. At any rate, going to go for the BP Ultimate from now on. Will inform of results 😊
  24. So, this might sound a bit odd, but I thought there was a headlight adjustment wheel with the 2006 STI or did they switch to self levelling ones for this year? I noticed the other night they were a bit "low" when driving at a nice speed.
  25. V Power or BP fluctuate as well though, don't they? They're just 10p more per litre for the additional 2 octane numbers/additives they add in that supermarkets probably don't add in.
