Lowering Springs?
So looking into lowering my car. Kinda of went away from coilovers because I'm not sold on the ride being overly stiff for my daily driver, but I want something with a decent drop rate. Read a lot into a few different brands, some swear by Tein and others say stay away? Anyone have them? Other options, Prodrive or Cobb? A lot of people say RaceComp Engineering Yellows or Blacks are by far the best, but I don't think you can get them in the UK?

New to the scene hopefully.
For the amount of money I'd personally go for a STi, but that's because I like them more. Go for what you want mate, not what everyone else says. Everyone's tastes are different and everyone's budgets are different.

350bhp 2.5 engine
Good idea

350bhp 2.5 engine
Start with the little things first, injectors etc. You should be able to push a decent amount out of the stock turbo? And if you're planning on rebuilding, then I'd just run it on the stock internals until it blows personally 😉😂

It's gone now. I'd buy from a dealer personally, at least you get some sort of little warranty.

350bhp 2.5 engine
my mate in the States ran a FP Green, and a full turbo back exhaust and had t mapped on a hawkeye STI for years with no problems mind and I'm pretty sure he was pushing 400 horsies. They don't need too much to make decent numbers from what I've read. Why I was thinking bigger injectors 😂 If you're going to spend the dough, get the bigger ones like you say haha

Hmm, are you ever going to want more than 350? Because you need to build around the turbo sizing. FP Green could get you to 400 pretty easily. But there's loads of turbo choices. Think someone did a thread in the general Subaru area with a list? pistons & rods, Weisco pistons, Carrillo Pistons and rods or Eagle rods? ARP if they make them? Maybe check into head studs etc as well. Injectors at least 800cc probably 1000 I'd say, RC Engineering does good ones. Bearings, Clevite (spelling?) do the ones for NASCAR so they're good. Or there's good ol' ACL as well.

2005 Impreza STI
Sorry to ask again, but can I just ask for a write up on how you did this? I want to change mine as I'm not sold on the green with the red speedo clocks...and I've got white DEFIs...thinking of going red as well for these. Also, where did you get the black controls from?

Seminole81's 2006 Widetrack STi Build
Had it checked over, basically same as what JM did for me. All looks good. Need to find a place to stick it on a dyno though. Latest saga is the rear defrost stopped working. No light or relay click. Checked the fuse, which looked a bit scorched so I replaced it. Didn't fix it. Guessing it's the relay that faulty now. JM is going to fix it for me which is good. Has anyone done the LEDs on the climate controls? Debating on what to do as I've got the red speedo, green climate, and white DEFIs...should I make climate red? Leave it as is? Which LEDs did you buy if you've done it?

Turbo up pipe
Sorry to thread hijack, but I've got a cat back at the moment, if you get turbo back/decat will you fail MOTs?

2005 Impreza STI
Really liked this thread. Sorry for bringing it back from the dead haha. I like what you did with the center console and changing the LEDs to match it all up. I'm kind of in the same boat now as what you were. DEFI gauges are in white, red speedo, green climate control...kinda want to go all red or, red and white as I can't change the DEFI's (I think?)

Not yet, there's a guy in Hartlepool though apparently that specializes in Subaru that I'm going to check out with I think.

Seminole81's 2006 Widetrack STi Build
So I threw a CEL over the weekend, didn't think it was anything major, but she was misfiring and didn't really wanna go. I thought after extensive googling as I don't own a reader, yet, it was a probably a plug or coil pack. Spoke with JM and he said to bring it back up today and we'd get it sorted so I did. Coil pack clip went, JM fixed it and she's running great again. Had a cheeky stop on the way home, filled up with V-Power and swung by the Gateshead quays for a quick photo op. Here's what I few got 😊😍
