  1. buying a car with 50k on the clock and 8yrs old, you don't know what life it's had.... like with any car. even buying a 'forged' car you don't know how it's been done, I've heard of those being done on a 'budget' and still having other issues.
  2. What a busy weekend we had with www.m-soc.com drove from Nottm to Castle Combe (3hrs) on Friday night and stayed in a Travel Lodge 5mins from the track, then left Rally Day and headed over to Bicester for another Travel Lodge which was only about 20mins from Silverstone. Got back about 6pm Sunday. Rally Day was really good.. just like last year. Plenty to see and quality cars, with track action. Topped off by a bouncy castle area for the kids that was layed on for FREE, our 3yro lad loved that. Trax.. well what can I say, we haven't been for a few year and I think the show is on it's last legs, it's a big car park with track action, where was the exhibition arena and stuff like BMX stunt displays? Oh and topped off by us having a 'little' area to park a dozen cars! For me both days were practice with my 150-600 lens, trying various shutter speeds, aperture and ISO settings to get the pin sharp shot with wheel blur motion. A compromise had to be made sometimes on sharp shots (having a long lens) over really good wheel motion. Other shots I just took without much thought lol Photos have had light editing but are all out the camera with no cropping expect a couple. (I didn't have time to fully edit 900 pix lol) All my Rally Day pix are here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/neoquip/albums/72157674381661595 a selection of good ones ... All my Trax pix are here... https://www.flickr.com/photos/neoquip/albums/72157671015716713 a selection of good ones ... Thanks for looking
  3. hello and welcome. how much are you wanting to spend on a Hatch?
  4. blinkin eck, I think something telling me error codes each time I went out would do my head in and I'd end up not daring to go out.. just incase another popped up. what's been done to the car? a re map, de cat pipe? are you runing V-power or Momentum? I'd un plug it and worry when something starts smoking or doesn;t start ;) let the dealer check it out and don't fiddle with it

I'll be there with www.m-soc.com as we'll be at Rally Day @ Castle Combe on the Saturday, then driving over to Silverstone from there... a busy weekend
  6. My 1st batch of photos arrived yesterday of some of the shoots I took last week at the Curborough Sprint Track where www.m-soc.com held their annual event. Have to say I'm quite pleased with the results, even the couple which are on soft focus give a sense of speed. I'll be mounting these on 400x500 boards that'll I'll bevel cut. A couple I'm going to enter into my Camera Club's Printed Photo competitions which have to be presented to the national standard for photography competition entry, and they get an independent judges in (to mark the photos out of 20) who have been approved by the North & East Midland Photographic Federation, (N&EMPF). All exciting stuff Thanks for looking.
  7. really!!! £1600!!! Ring Rob up at Stan Palmers, (he's on the Customer Service desk, he's got me a replacement SS back box.. approved by Subaru... under £200 delivered, and a centre pipe was about £100 if I wanted it. My car is 2002, but II think they'll do one for a 2008 too. worth a call, as they come with subaru warranty too.

  9. I use Machine Marts Traffic Film remover.. spray on and then use a detailing brush to agitate it, snow foam it all.. then jet wash off. https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/traffic-detergent-5l-concentrate/ Dry off and then use some AutoGlym Vinyl & Rubber cleaner and a soft micro fibre towel. You can use wd40 or silicone spray if you want too.
  10. it does restrict how how the boot opens.. and it only goes as far as it can before it has the spoiler catch the roof. so it has wire to stop it going up too far.
  11. You may be able to pick up a STi Prodrive back box off a 330s.. which should fit yours.. its a quad pipe .. so you may have to see if the rear trim needs cutting.. then you put the extentions around the rear. Ivan's car is a WRX with the STI exhaust M-SOC 2016 by FIL, on Flickr
  12. I've just gone over all my STI with this... http://angelwax.co.uk/product/stripped-ease-wax-removal-system/ to get all the wax I've put on it over the years, so I can start again and build up the paint finsh. So tonight I've prepped the 'stripped' paint work with AngelWax Ti-22 and then applied a coat of Anglewax Desirable.
  13. before you do anything.. clay cloth your car first... then see what your paint work comes up like!! http://www.theclayclothcompany.co.uk/ only needs doing once a year ;) difference between wax and polish http://www.theclayclothcompany.co.uk/page_3288339.html
