  1. Hello welcome, Wind noise is a problem which blights all subarus, the pillar less glass is the reason for it, foresters tend to have problems with the rubber triangle on the front windows, there are diy fixes available in youtbue and there may be one in the how two guide on here, Knocking is normally down to the rubbish plastic droplinks, ive changed the shocks and tops but still get the knocking sound, will be changing the links soon to metal ones hopefully this will cure it. As for the oil issue I'm not sure is it a 2.5L engine ? Does seem odd to be going through that amount
  2. Sounds about right for those idiots it's a wonder they are still in business.

Can't me many nova's left these days bet thw body kit is hiding a whole heap of rust
  6. Cheers fella [emoji2] I'll let you know when the arrive
  7. Finally fitted replacement pitch stop The rubber was knackered in the old one and sti one is about 3mm shorter so a tiny bit of pressure on the intake moved the bolt into alignment.
  8. Dogs are an excellent way to be able to escape out of the house at least three times a day, and keep fit. Got roped into my first proper 'parent & child even last night, combination of a Christmas light turn on and the upstairs of a bar showing frozen to 30+ kids with parents. hell on earth lasted an hour before retreating to the sanctuary of home
  9. The nokian d3 came 2nd in the auto express winter test I'd be inclined to go with the nokian ons you've selected there mate. I was gonna get them but the misses has put the stops on getting another set and work is getting in the way of picking up the other rims so it looks like I'm going to have to scrap tge winter tyre idea and get some all season ones
  10. Hi mate i replied in the exhaust section [emoji16]
  11. What kind of budget have you got ? Can buy haywood and scott systems off the shelf or contact your local powerflow franchise the can make you a bespoke system, theres also cobra sport in sheffield that do the same, not sure if tge 2003 xt is the same as the older version but sometimes they share parts with impreza's of the same year so you could look at gettting one and making it fit, the back box will need some modifications as the hangers are different
  12. Least it's a relatively cheap fix and not something horrendous. [emoji2] My y pipe isn't gonna be here for another week at least so rebating weather to change my pitch stop anyway cos I'll be bored over the weekend
  13. I had a cobra one made with twin resonators in the centre. Static db is about 96. Sounds nice and above 2.5k it really gets going not to droney on motorways either Theres always powerflow and somone else who will make them up for you. Heywood & scott also but pricy
  14. The bigger the better ! I use them all over, spare tyre well under the front seats just to get rid of any moisture thats crept in. The cars garaged in work and at home but some manages to find it way in through the window rubbers and what not
  15. Haha I remember the bloke next door to us thinking he was the ****** as he had one of those. The 70's & 80's were dark days ! My dad had all manner of British Leyland dross [emoji20] what the hell was everyone thinking with vinyl roofs ? Used to love getting into the marina and having a damp patch on the seat
  16. Yes think places like b&q do or storage and removal companies sell them. Or maybe get a big bag off amzon [emoji2]
  17. Maybe get some pckets of silica gell in car. Is it kept outside ?
  18. Don't clean it. Mines showing slight wear on it and used a dash wipe now some bits are going funny. Maybe treat it with something to feed the leather.
  19. Says low mileage on the ad but showing 105k is that in kms or milles ? The seat at the steering wheel look well worn and maybe not keeping with what the odometer says. Or it's been sat with the window up for a while and the atmosphere has started to eat at it If I remember the z4 ecu is from a later model so may not be correct. With classics you need a stand alone ecu apexi or mines etc. Or a daughter board grafted onto yours form a company called esl which is around 550-600 inclusive of mapping. The rear bumper has been changed for a uk spec one at some stage as the number plate finisher is larger. Only thing you can do is take someone who knows imprezas along with you to view it. But I think for 2.5k you could find a nicer example.
  20. Love the boggo foucus just creeping forwards, 'i've got him off the lights' haha
  21. It's only a coloured bulb I have a spare green one have the part number lying around somewhere if you want to change it. Or it may just be a Little condom over the bulb you can remove to give you a white ring. Hehe
  22. Some interesting cars there, Mines as bland as you can get, mainly having a company van it's a bit patchy, I started off on mopeds (how else is a 16yo spotty oik supposed to impress the ladies) but after being skewered by a knobhead coming out of a junction on my twist and go mild seven piaggio rep i was banned by my mum for ever having another road bike while she graces this earth, still didn't stop me from trying to kill myself on various field bikes [emoji16] Lwb rwd transit Nissan sunny (see above) Berlingo van (bulletproof) Ford fiesta van, (horrendous) 1.8 laugna saloon (heaviest clutch in world) 1.8 laugna estate (so rusty when i jacked it up the jack came through passenger's footwell) Swb transit 1.4 escort (never needed to change oil as had constantly top up, porous sump) 2007 Citroen dispatch (bag of ****) Mk1 jdm mx5 Luton transit (current) Forester [emoji16]
  23. Interesting to see where we've all come from in our car histories time to name and shame some of the ones we'd rather forget ! Mine has to be a 94 nissan sunny saloon, had had a front end nudge so it was a two tone red & metalic blue combo. Smelt like wet dog as had leaky sunroof and rather worryingly crabbed down the street most spectacularly. rather unsurprisingly failed the only m.o.t I put it through I'm proud to say I'm still alive as I left the test station with 5 pages of yellows and 3 reds ranging from binging calipers, worn bushes etc to the final nail in the coffin, some horrific structural tin worm [emoji33] how I managed to drive it for 10 months and not kill me or anyone else, is a mystery. On the flip side all the electrics worked and I didn't pay a penny for it even managed to het a ton back when I scrapped it [emoji51]
