  1. [emoji51] advisory on the age of rear tyres and some play in the n/s droplink bush. Simples I was planing on upgrading the droplinks anyway so that gives me a reason to do it sooner rather than later
  2. For some reason my last post never arrived, the sls units are extortionate quite a lot of people swap them out for normal ones, you can getva pedders kit that bolts straight in for around 300 or there are other shocks and spring combos available for around the same price
  3. Plus it's illegal to undertake, I do it out of principle if I'm sat behind someone for miles doing under the national speed limit in the right hand lane, undertake draw level then look at the with a shrug of shoulders sit in empty left lane doing the limit, look in rear view and they are still sat in the right one [emoji35] knobbers I see the new powers introduced to fine lane hoggers has worked a treat
  4. Yeah mate it's criminal, the state of our roads, Did your foz have the self leveling suspension ? One thing to look out for that goes wrong on potential purchases.
  5. Hello welcome ! There a loads of cars around the price bracket your looking at so I'd go look at as many as you can, one thing to take into account is that in may 2006 the foz was grouped into the high tax bracket £450 ! Cars with a remap shouldn't be a worry as long as they have paperwork to prove whats been done and it sits with the rest of the car, no point buying one thats been done but may blow up at any time as the other supporting modifications havent been done. If your looking at foresters with a ppp package dont worry as it was a dealer option so you get stainless prodrive back sections to the exhaust plus a remap done by prodrive taking it to circa 250-260 if my memory's correct. Reliability should be ok, they prefer in interim oil change and maybe different oil if it's been modded significantly. I can't speak for the xt as I have a first gen car but I'm sure others will be along soon enough
  6. No worries keep us posted as to your plans and what you get done !
  7. Hello, depends on what you need for ecu, I'd say soemwhere in the region of 350-500 depending on a licence and remapping time. Best thing is to speak to some tuners they will advise you on most bang for buck with regards to what yiu already have on the car, three of the most used & recommended ones are Simon @jolly green monster Duncan @ race dynamix & Andy forrest, if you google them and get in contact they'll give you some options
  8. Excuse to go for a drive and get some [emoji51] the car is loving the cooler air today
  9. It just says xl tyres for heavy cars, don't consider the sf foz to be a porker by todays standards ?
  10. M.o.t today flagged an advisory as to the age of my rear tyres showing some sign of cracking on the sidewalls, loads of tread left but obviously need replacing, Various sites are throwing up tyre selections of 95 and 99 and xl rated tyres, i have 95xl on at the moment, question is do i really need to choose xl (reinforced) tyres or will i get away with 95 or 99's 95's are rated to 690kg and 99's 775 kg, The car weighs around 1500kg dry so add a bit more on fro occupants and fluids, it's not used for towing anything and is rarely fully laden, Reason i ask is there is alot more choice not having to go witjh exact replacments
  11. I don't think it will loose the map though, just plug the black ones in for now and see if the check engine light just throws anything. I've recently had some of the parameters changed at a garage using the subaru select management tool. Did an ecu reset by mistake disconected the battery for half hour but everything stayed the same.
  12. Shouldn't do, one pair is a test connector and the other one just puts it into diagnostic mode. The map should be flashed onto the ecu.
  13. http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2366-Manually-Reading-ECU-Codes Ah ok, maybe running too rich ? Apart from that Mine takes about 5 mins to warm up and settle down think it's just a subaru thing.
  14. Ive sat in a couple of new age they seem a bit bigger if that makes sense, not as tight around the shoulders or hips, classic seats deffo more comfy in my opinion hug you more. As you can tell I really like them
  15. When you say rough, fo you mean erratic or just high upon start up ? If it's just high 12-1500rpm then takes a little to drop below 900 it's normal. Not sure about the lambda, mine was fooked and only threw up a cel light when giving it the beans, not sure if a remap would be able to by pass it. Have you had a look fpr historic codes stored in the ecu by using the green and black plugs under the dash ?
  16. Thems mine. Not to sure how they'd look in a newage as they are a bit shorter in height. Do you know anyone near you willing to see if they fit ok ? I know they don't match the door cards or the carpet mats but who cares [emoji51]
  17. Think you have to do itvthe long way as per the instructions in the manual [emoji20] do you have a copy ? Theres one on here somewhere if needs be, Sorry I can't be of any real help I don't have that alarm fitted
  18. Off for a celebratory wash & order some more goodies
  19. Interesting front bumper/splitter any idea what make it is ?
  20. Looks nice and clean more pics needed ! [emoji16]
  21. Hi mate, have a look through the wheels and count how many pistons you can see, should have calipers that say subaru over the two on the fronts each side, so should be 4pots, as for rears I'n not sure 2pots maybe
  22. Just needs a good clean, that I/c is in great condition for car that age
  23. Looks nice, very clean underneath
