  1. Lol i can holf my hands up and say the bottom end was nothing to to do with me. Mainly down to my divvy brother not realising you have to add oil/water and other fluids. I'm pleased to say that install is now complete, didn't go too bad only one 12mm crows foot 1 allen key and an allen hex socket lost into the depths of the engine bay. Still should work themselves loose. I've had he boost wired up for a week and am only showing about 0.6 bar on full beans, seemed a bit low ? After a quick drive oil pressure warm shows 1.5 bar which if i'm correct in my rubbish maths about 20 psi. So i'll keep an eye on everything and see how it is :-)
  2. I dropped a ten 10mm spanner once into my brothers punto when i was re building the head. Never found it. Funnily enough the bottom end went a month later :-)
  3. Think i'm taking a leaf out of your book gambit. Went to measure the plug hex size and dropped allen key and other various bits into engine haha must remeber to retreive tonight
  4. Cheers :-D seems simple enough remove ic clean area unscrew plug, put new bits in put ic back. Fingers crossed it will go smoothly
  5. cut a long story short the oil pressure sender underneath the alternator is not playing so i'm gonna remove the rear blanking plug and install the pressure sender in there tomorrow night, is it easy to do, or are there any issues i should be looking out for ? i have a bout three hours in which to do it so hopefully be back on the road in the evening
  6. 2nd that for the directed audio alarm, i had the cheaper hornet on the mx5 and now have the viper on the forester, the hornet offers the same amount of protection as the viper with remote start total closure turbo timer delay, but as miggs says you get a mini phone looking key fob that tells you what part of the alarm has been triggered. Think theres about 100 quid between the two. Strangley flux alwasy wanted to see the install cert on the mazda, but they wern't fussed on the foz which is good because the previous owner lost it

  10. I've ordered a couple of these, don"t know how effective they'll be but i can just use the under dash fuse to gain the two live connections i need, saves me trying to solder upside down or making a mess of the loom. Once they have turned up i'll let you know how it went.

To be honest it's a bit of a ball ache getting to it as i've no radio keys there is also a buletooth unit stuffed behind the stereo and 2nd din unit and it's doing my head in getting at the back , was gonna use the clock before i realised the loom goes back into the roof as opposed to running along the front, the wire from the parking light is easiest theres already a ground wire attached but been chopped half way through and i'll just pick up an ignition live from one of the many random ones i've found hanging around And if that doesnt work i'v ordered an 'add an accessory ' fuse piggyback unit from the bay

  13. Sweet cheers dogma. I'll just tap from the in side of the foglight side of it. Found a whole heap of wires undrr the dash with an inline fuse that doesn't seem to go anywhere, looks like it may have been for the jap toll box road pricing thing.

Boo i know, it's a ball ache to get to as i have to remove the cubby box thing. i was halfway through testing all the wires under the dash when my multimeter died on me, it's already been tapped into to run the rear fog so i'll hook it up tomorrow and see what happens. Gauge pod should be at home when i get back from work too

'Records Management' posh title for Archivist or if you filter it down i'm a bloke in a van that delivers boxes of paperwork, basically i do the whole lot, drum up business where i can look after 25000 boxes put them away scan stuff pull it and deliver it, invoice my customers and much more, believe it or not i work for a national company but i'm the only person within the group that does what i do so subsequently it could be so much better given a bit of investment but the main focus is on other things, at the end of the day it's a job i enjoy what i do and who i meet
  18. Big thanks to gambit and his family for the hospitality yesterday :) Good day out bar the sunburnt heed and driving home wondering why my fuel gauge was dropping like a stone only to find i'd had my non working aircon running for the duration haha !

  22. After two day monitoring cold level seems to be halfway between min and max on ex tank and hot is on the max line. This sound abiut right ?
  23. Fingers crossed i want to come out to play on sat :) just had a drive out on a mixture of roads and everthing looks ok i'll just keep an eye on it
  24. Spent an hour uderneath car and generally trying to work things out. Topped up resivior and leveled expansion bottle from cold started car up rad cap off nothing untowards squeezed bottom hose for ages loads of bubbles came out continued to top up. Repressurised system ran for a bit fans kicked in bottom hose got hot no leaks from anywhere underneath. Temp gauge stayed where it always has Bit of white smoke think its condensation so off for a test drive, hopefully it's all good fingers cossed
