SparrowHawk.V8
Hi all, I've got a 2005 Blob Eye WRX. It's standard, apart from Prodrive kit (fitted from new). The clutch has started to slip slightly, so will need doing very soon. I had a quote of over £1000 from Jem Subaru so will obviously not be getting it done there. I'm located in East London / Kent. I'm looking for either: 1.) A Subaru Specialist garage to provide and fit a clutch at a reasonable cost or 2.) Suitable clutch kit to purchase myself AND a Subaru Specialist to fit it for me at a reasonable labour cost All suggestions welcome - although I will definitely not be carrying out the work myself. Plus any advice on other details surrounding getting a clutch changed. Thanks!
stants
Exedy blue box clutch for under 300bhp Exedy pink box for above 300 As for spacilosts in your area I'm of no use sorry
SparrowHawk.V8
Thanks Stants, Exedy seems to be the only brand name that anyone recommends. It's staying standard, I'm not intending to modify the car at all. So the blue box should be fine. Do you have a recommendation for the cheapest place to buy it - or any club discounts etc that might apply? Eurocarparts shows £260 +vat
stants
As far as I'm aware they are the oem parts so should be ok. Scooby clinic do it for 230 so I guess the other subaru online shops will do a similar price,
SparrowHawk.V8
Ah yes, Scooby Clinic is a bit cheaper. Thanks Hopefully someone else will come up with a Subaru Specialist to give me a quote for fitting. Scoobyghost has already kindly got me a quote from his mechanic.

kevf78
been recommended to try Aztec performance for the cheapest parts, standard clutch kit is around £250 or pink box organic comes in about £360 if you are anywhere near the high wycombe area talk to Richard at fb tuning, knows his stuff and is reasonably priced for fitment but you supply the parts. I had a little look around myself and for a fitted clutch you wont get much change from a monkey (£500 ;) ) as a side note, if you go for the stage 1 pink box the clutch slave cylinder will also need a slight modification to accomodate the uprated clutch
Scooby Pete
The only places I can recommend are a bit of a drive, Dan at Surrey Subaru Specalists in Camberly or Len at Subaru4you in Newbury, both would require a fair drive but worth the trip. Len has done a clutch for me and Dan has done a fair few bits on my classic when when I had it.

I've found that in London every quote goes over 500. But if I I'm willing to travel a bit, I should get at least a little change out of a monkey. I'll ask FB Tuning for a quote. Best quote I have had so far is from Scooby Clinic, they were reasonably priced and got back to me right away. But they're up in Chesterfield and I don't know when I'm next up that way.
