Jimmymac101 Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 Guys I love my Subaru but this is testing my patience haha How the !Removed! hell do you change these side lights ? 2008 Impreza hatch ( RX ) Passenger side is the Battery ....... I moved that had the smallest of gap but couldn't twist or pull the bulb out ! Anything I'm missing there? Drivers side well where do I start ...... Removed the air intake easy stuff just to find there no access to the indicator or side light bulbs :O poor design or what! Am I really going to have to take the bumper off and remove the light unit ? WideSam Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 My car's older, but I don't imagine the recipe has changed much. You have to remove the lights to remove the bumper- take out the centre plastic grille, then there's usually 2 bolts above the light and one in the middle (where you've just removed the grille) again, may be different on your car, but you should find them. Bikeboy16 Posted August 16, 2015 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Hi there, did you get this done ? I've inly just seen the post so could be a bit late, but I did mine through the arch liner. Removed some of the plastic clips holding it on, then get your hand up in behind. It is proper fiddly, but I've changed mine twice now this way. Plod asks, "Can you replace the bulb now sir, then you can be on your way" ? "Oh, yes ocifer, just excuse me while I strip the whole front off the car and can you cone off two lanes of the M25 while I spend the next hour or so fixing it". Rik. Xander Posted September 25, 2015 Share Posted September 25, 2015 I did mine yesterday it's a half hour job. Remove the air intake and air box it's only 1 nut and 1 bolt I believe a 10 and 8. The half closer the head light will lift out the other half can be removed by discounting the pipe to the engine. This side is better to do first and you will see a black flat tab tray thing that lines up with the back of the side light. Twist it and it will pull out. Now you know what your looking for the passenger side is taking the Battery out and look for the same thing. Due to the angle of the passenger side I used some grips to twist it. Finally purchased my house so had room to play around on the drive haha guys it's as simple as xander said ! Took me an hour to do as the LED bulbs have to go in a certain way and I didn't the first time so having to dismantle a second time added unwanted time :) no need to remove bumper result james 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
