fizzking Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I have just joined but hope to be able to add something. My MX-5 had rather cloudy front headlight lenses Before After I polished with Meguiars PlastX and sealed with Glass Polish Surface Sealant. The lenses are nearly like new now. I did a 2011 Nissan and they sparkle The Impreza was not really cloudy but I did the front and rear lenses anyway and they also sparkle 1
Tidgy Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 yeah pretty comon thing that, decent brush up and they come up pretty well
GeoffLeggy Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Very good job! Want to have a go at my Jag lol. I did have a go and got a small improvement but need to have another crack at it.
david1972 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I've used megs ultimate compound before and worked well - starting to haze again now so might invest in some PlastX - does it last long or keep needing re-doing?

I can't say because this is the first time I have used it. However the secret seems to be to apply the protective sealant afterwards, to protect against UV light.
david1972 Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I did wax them afterwards but guess that wasn't enough Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
GMInsite Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 I will have to try this i have polished them before but after a few weeks they go cloudy again

WideSam Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Nice job, I used toothpaste to do mine, seemed to bring them up ok. They're a nightmare to keep clear though, living near the sea.
Jay762 Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Usefull thread - have got this as a mild problem currently - now I have a solution :)

Done that before too...worked well initially but re-hazed again soon after. Car tasted nice though [emoji14] Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
