cornish6544 Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Eurospec got back to me on the problem with the remap they reckon the the turbo has gone as the car is only producing 180 hp. They are charging 200 to fit a new turbo but how much should i expect to pay for a replacement tdo5 as i have no idea when it comes to turbos 1
kayzarh Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Checked on ebay; prices vary from £100-200 and some are even going for £300. check this link out got some turbo information http://www.andyforrestperformance.co.uk/16307.html 1
Tidgy Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Problem with cheap turbos (unless they are second hand units) tends to be cheap chinese knockoffs. Why do they think the turbo? is it failing to hold boost? not making boost?

cornish6544 Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 The turbo reaches 0.7 bar which if I'm honest i don't understand but he said it should be reaching 1.2 or 1.3 so its failing to hold boost? Ive bought a 2nd hand TD05 from a breakers which I'm told is in good condition getting it shipped to the garage next day delivery so pray for me this sorts it out
Tidgy Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Failing to make boost then, failing to hold boost would mean it hit the 1.2 then dropped off rapidly (although it will drop off top end anyway, its just how quickly it does it) could well be the turbo in that case.
Cdmh Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 All i would say is your in safe hands with Eurospec , top guys and Ben there lives and breathes cars and performance , they have a vast array of cars they look after from race and drift cars to a whole host of jap performance motors , have used them in the past and even had Ben come over to diagnose a and help out with one of the GTO owners when he span a bearing at castle coombe even though he was on pit cover that day for one of their drift customers . Will be getting mine down there soon on the "heartbreaker" dyno as its affectionately known , They will see you right and get it sorted quickly for you Craig :)
