Hi guys. It seems never ending at mo. Right car was ticking over for roughly 30 minutes no issues. The eml came on. Diags are saying 22 knock sensor.

Does this mean the sensor is gone or the sensor has found a fault.

OK brill. I gotta say most of the things I'm having issues with are things that are original oem parts. I don't mind replacing those.

Yeah not sure what one to get tho. My engine seems to be a mix. Closed deck with newer UK version top

Get the one for your version/model scoob cos all classic knock sensors bolt on the same .

It's the plugs that differ and you want plug to match your car's loom

If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊

Sorry to jump your thread but what's a normal knock reading?

I couldn't tell you what normal knock levels are on a oe ecu as I'm running apexi fc and I think the scale is different.

That's what mines got reads 2 when cold then goes to 9/10 when  warm is that good?

I would have thought it reads opposite, what software are you using ?

I get mental reading at cold startup with the pistons rattling around,then when warm I typically see between 0-3° retardation on the timing

As stants said you normally get higher knock from cold starts ,highest I've seen on mine is 11 during cold start .

When warm and under boost I've seen 38 knock but I'm running nearly 1.6 bar and noisy forged internals . So probably not the best comparison if your engine is standard

Yea engines standard it's got a decat or cat back exhaust. I'm  not too sure on the software, I know the car has a apexi fc commander and has been mapped by JGM?
