Fastboy67 Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I'm currently upgrading my sound system and was wondering how others have securely mounted a sub-woofer in the boot of an Impreza? I know some will say don't add the extra weight but I'm not after a balls out track demon neither am I gonna totally kill that lovely burble.
stants Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Have you looked at underseat units ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Fastboy67 Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 I have mate but don't fancy them I like them in the boot out the way. Cheers for the idea though 👍😀
martyc Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Used to use Velcro strips to hold them down Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
mattiekane Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I think the safest way to mount them is to cut a sheet of 10mm bored for your boot floor(using floor mat as a template) then secure the sub box to that, if you wanna go balls out safe could always secure board down to the boot floor 1
Jay762 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 8 or 10mm is what I used before to mount amps etc - 15mm mdf for a shelf with twin 12"s and twin 6x9's to use the boot space as free air sub box so IMO 10mm will be ideal 2
Fastboy67 Posted June 16, 2016 Author Posted June 16, 2016 Like the sound of that using mdf for the boot floor, it adds a bit of extra weight but that's better than the sub box and amps flying round the boot. Cheers lads 👍👍👍 1
mattiekane Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 In my GT4 I actually ratchet strapped my sub to my rear sturtbrace for a short while haha
Fastboy67 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Strangely enough that's what I was thinking as a temporary measure till its done more securely and neatly 👍😂😂😂 1
