I had my Blob Eye remapped at TDR in Warwick today. Very friendly and helpful.  I'm very pleased with the results as was the tuner. I got an extra 45 BHP and 60 Ft-lb torque peak. He said it's got a very good engine. Nice and quiet and powerful . I've only driven it home so far but I seemed to have less throttle on for the same speed and nice even power curve from nothing to red line. Definitely worth doing as well as he said it was running dangerously weak around 3.5k rpm .

Before and after graph attached.

Fantastic result! What mods do you have to help get to that power?

Just a pipercross panel filter and Prodrive back box.

That's really good! Can't wait until I get mine done!

I just took if for a spin. Pulls stronger in the mid range and a bit more top end. 160 on the clock 😎. Cooked the brakes though 😞.

Here's another graph for you. Boost on the right scale, Air Fuel Ratio on the left.

Good power increase. How long did it take for the whole mapping process also how much did it cost?

  • Author

It took 1 1/2 hours in all and cost £360.

What's stock boost? 0.9 bar?

I assume the horrific squiggly lines are original?? Making a very quick steady 250bhp with 0.7bar in the mid range?

With mod rising to peak 285bhp as boost steadies down to 0.8ish.  Just doesn't look right to me sorry.

I'd be expecting upto1.2ish bar from a performance remap and sort of power your developing?  Be interesting to get others in who've had same car remapped

as above 285bhp on 1bar seems a tad over optimistic, is it def running the standard turbo?

Also 203 at wheels is roughly 250 at the fly, so there's about 35bhp over correction on the headline figure. They are both labeled as .009 so apear to be the same run

I agree. It was 204 at the wheels on the best run. Run 9. I think his conversion to fly wheel is over optimistic. Surely you don't loose 80bhp in the drive train! Also would expect the original run to be less. Turbo looks original. The good thing is though, I did get a useful increase in power and torque.

its roughly 23% iirc, although its so dependent on lots of things like tyres, gearbox and diff wear, what oil etc etc so once you it 400 your loosing near as damit 100bhp :o

I'm not sure why it would only be running 0.5bar, should be around 0.9 standard.

I've never seen so many Scubies in one place. He said he's doing six engine rebuilds. May boost is kept down because he doesn't want another one [emoji47] .
