majik_thighs Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Had a strange noise on startup for a while now. This afternoon it stopped abruptly and when I looked the pulley had dropped right off. Anyone know if it`s a replacement pulley or just the bearings? Cheers Steve
stants Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I'd presume it's a new pulley needed as more than likely sheared off ? Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
majik_thighs Posted July 17, 2016 Author Posted July 17, 2016 Looks like the bearing seized and the bolt just unwound itself Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
savage bulldogs Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I think if the idler bearing bolts are over tightened (not torqued down properly ) they can snap , so check to see if the bolt is in 1 piece . As you might need to extract the broken bit and buy a new bolt with the new idler bearing. If it's not broke .....upgrade it 😊
majik_thighs Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 It`s being sorted today, both the idler and tensioner pullys come as a set and they are something which needs replacing occasionally .
majik_thighs Posted July 29, 2016 Author Posted July 29, 2016 Yep. It was the tensioner pully though.....my mistake. But I also will need the idler pulley pretty soon which I can't seem to find anywhere. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
