Had a very very good quote from Keith Michaels insurance for the Subaru impreza wrx I've been looking at.

Adrian flux wanted 1600

Keith Michaels wanted 995

What are people's experiences with this company?  I have a few concerns, firstly they are open Monday to Friday 9 till 5, that's no good if i need to make a claim on a Saturday morning.

Also there was no mention of legal cover, courtesy cars or anything like that.  Just confirmed my cars details and mods, and gave me a very cheap price.

So please share your experiences!

Started my 3rd year insured with Kieth Michael's. No real drama except for getting hold of Gary Moulson. Not sure why no-one else can talk to Impreza owners about thier insurance though. They've always made it easy so stuck with them. Usually ends up £10-20 higher than flux but for that pittance id rather not have the hassle starting a new policy, sending NCB, proof of mileage and all that gubbins.

Do you get things like legal cover and windscreen cover?

He told me all documents go through post.  Not even via email.  Old school.

Yeah it's all posted. Doesn't seem to be any online service.

I have legal cover and windscreen cover(with excess) but I'm not sure if I paid extra whsn I first went with them 2 years ago. I call up now ask renewal price and if it's acceptable I say go ahead.

You want to speak to Gary moulson at keith micheals, he specialises with scoobs and evo's, and just ask him any questiosn you have. They also cover mods like for like if you want. Been with them for donkeys years, there is an option for claims when you ring the main office number.

He can be hard to get hold of cos hes mega busy with folks ringing him.

Sky have offered me 1200 but it's with a reputable insurance company, and sky seem easy to deal with.

I will give Keith Michaels a call back and see what they say.   But so far I'm edging towards paying more!

I left Gary a voicemail saying i want to take out the policy he quoted me.  He's got until end of day to get back to me.  Or I will write them off completely.

Sky were very helpful.

Pretty much the core of Surrey Scoobies owners club have all had their cars insured by Gary for many years and I've never heard a bad thing about them as a broker apart from the difficulty in getting hold of Gary.

I have been with them for over 12 years, never ever had an issues with claims as they are a broker and you call the actual insurance provider to make the claim, they do everything by post so you have paper copies of documents and such.

if you do go with Keith micheals make sure you check who the provider is and don't have a policy from Market Study as they have kicked and screamed over claims from a few people I know.
