Jay762
Ok all - have done a bit of research and there are mixed views on this so thought I would canvas your good selves. I am looking at installing an oil temperature sensor as I believe currently the map and subsequent output to the Toucan unit in place is just set at 120ºC I have an oil pressure sensor installed at the galley point top front of engine under the alternator (Accessed to sort a leak) I have access to the galley point rear of engine under the turbo (Accessed to sort another leak) and can install one there I will also be installing a sandwich plate for an oil cooler which could take an oil and or pressure sensor in the not too distant future. I dont intend modifying the sump to fit one there So peoples opinions on best place to take off an oil temperature reading Cheers
moshe_levy
Rear galley that's what everyone recommends ,that's what I did.Cause people says that this is the most hot point in the engine. Sent from...somewhere

savage bulldogs
Bung above cylinder no 3 ,is definitely the best place for oil temp readings, the one behind the alternator is normally where oil pressure sensor is fitted bud
