Oorwill Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Hi,would like advice on alloy lug nuts,I have purchased some and I am a bit unsure if they will be fine
Tidgy Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Depends what material they are, some are cheap and nasty and you'd be better off using cable ties, some are ok. Any more details on brand etc?
Oorwill Posted July 4, 2020 Author Posted July 4, 2020 Thanks for your reply, the lug nuts are epman brand. I've used the oem nuts, just got alloys returned and was looking for matching lug nuts but hard to find
savage bulldogs Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 I'd chuck those in the bin , buddy . I bought a set of epman wheel nuts ,they looked good with caps to stop the centre's going rusty /fury.... Stripped the shockingly weak threads out of 2 of the first 5 I fitted , very dangerous . I now run steel tuner style nuts and just touch up the paint in the center every now n then
Oorwill Posted July 4, 2020 Author Posted July 4, 2020 Thanks il take your advice and skip them. The chrome nuts look not too bad, theyl do the now
Tidgy Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 I know the MSA banned them cos there were do many crap ones out there
Oorwill Posted July 5, 2020 Author Posted July 5, 2020 Thankfully got my 30 uid back for the lugnuts, must stop impulse buying lol 1
savage bulldogs Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 I'm fairly fussy about what I fit to my scooby, especially when it comes to brakes and steering. But still thought they looked a good buy and got caught out on the epman wheelnuts ,too 😏 I did post up on my build thread , how shoddy they were at the time but I did get a full refund from them . So the customer service was good even if the quality of the item was bad .
Jay762 Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Yup steel or Titanium is what I would run - Titanium on longer studs though
