I wasn't when he was racing in the days with Damon Hill but after being at a show where he was and soon realizing what a ***** Hill is put me off him. Then my uncle said he was at an airport speak with Schumacher for nearly 10 minutes and couldn't say enough of how much of a real nice guy he was never made him feel unwelcomed. And my uncle doesn't even like motorsports

Update:

No real surprise really I guess after 2 months and no news

Fans of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher have been warned that they will “never have any good news” concerning his recovery.

Schumacher, 45, suffered a near-fatal head injury in a skiing accident last December in Meribel, France.

It has been two months since the family released any information on the tragic sportsman’s health, and their silence has LED fans and commentators to fear the worst.

Gary Hartstein, a former F1 doctor, said: “I'm quite afraid (and virtually certain) we will never have any good news about Michael. At this point, I rather dread seeing that the family has put out a press release.”

Writing on his blog, he added: “I can conceive of no possible reason that Michael's entourage, understandably extremely protective of his and their privacy, would not tell his fans if significantly good things have happened.”

Roger Benoit, a respected and long-serving member of the F1 media, said: “Slowly, everybody is really worried. Grenoble and the family have been silent for weeks. Why?”

Update

Michael Schumacher is no longer in coma and has left Grenoble Hospital, his manager has announced.

Schumacher has been a patient at the hospital for over five months following a skiing accident at the end of December in which he suffered severe head injuries. Schumacher's life is believed to have been saved by the helmet he was wearing at the time of the accident, which split in two upon impact.

It was announced at the end of January that the 'waking up progress' had begun in Schumacher's treatment, but a paucity of updates since then has prompted growing fears about his condition and hopes of a recovery.

However, in a heartening and unexpected announcement, it's been revealed that Schumacher is no longer in a coma at the hospital in the south of France and has been moved to an undisclosed location.

'Michael has left the CHU Grenoble to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore,' a statement, released on Monday morning, read.

The news that the seven-times World Champion has left the facility is the first official update on the German's condition since April when it was reported that Schumacher was showing signs of 'consciousness and awakening'.

No fresh details about Michael's condition have been supplied, with the latest statement adding: 'For the future we ask for understanding that his future rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.'

The statement in full
'Michael has left the CHU Grenoble to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore. His family would like to explicitly thank all his treating doctors, nurses and therapists in Grenoble as well as the first aiders at the place of the accident, who did an excellent job in those first months. The family also wishes to thank all the people who have sent Michael all the many good wishes to Michael. We are sure it helped him. For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.'

More to follow...

Hopefully be followed up with some more good news. And not that he's still in a vegetable state

I think it will be the Hospital has said they can't do anymore now and he's ok to go. But have a feeling it's still not good news I thought they would have made more of it if he was pulling through :(

Michael Schumacher latest: F1 legend ‘will remain an invalid for the rest of his life’

Michael Schumacher “will remain an invalid for the rest of his life”, said leading medical expert Erich Riederer.
The F1 racing driver emerged from his coma on 16 June, yet numerous top medical practitioners have said since that his prognosis might not be as significant as some may have thought.
“He will remain an invalid all his life and will always remain dependent on others' help,” said neurology specialist Riederer.
He added that Schumacher will have “permanent” damage and that it will be a ”success“ if he manages to sit up unaided within the next three months and operate an electric wheelchair within six months.
However, he said that his coma awakening was still “positive”.

"It is an incredibly positive message when someone wakes up after being in a coma for half a year,” he continued.
“For him it is positive, but also for his family, this is hugely important.”
Earlier this week, Schumacher’s former doctor, Gary Hartstein, warned that the former F1 champion could be in a “minimally conscious state”.

His view reaffirms the words of medical experts, who said that only one in ten patients who spent so many months in a coma went on to recover all or most of their mental and physical capacities.
Schuamacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, released a statement on 16 June, which said that “he is not in a coma anymore” and will “continue his long phase of rehabilitation”.
He has since been moved from Grenoble university hospital in France to Lausanne hospital in Switzerland, nearer to this family home.
The racing car driver suffered severe head injuries after a skiing accident in French ski resort, Meribel on 29 December 2013.

I know it's hard one to call but I think I'd rather have died :( I'd rather be put to sleep never to wake up than have that happen. Might be selfish in some peoples eyes. But would you let a dog suffer like that... After seeing what Alzheimers and disabled people from the neck down are put through I would choose death :(
