John61 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Hi all I've recently bought myself a Legacy est. 59 plate 2.0 Diesel Ren with 38k on clock It's my first Subaru, I've been looking around for a while now so hopefully found the right one. It sure feels right. John, West Mids. 1
stants Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Hello & welcome feel free to have a mooch around and get involved we're a friendly lot and I'm sure dave and majik will be glad of somone else to wax lyrical about legacies with, pop up some pics when you have a spare 5 mins too
Gambit Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Hi welcome to S.O.C As said above great bunch on here so feel free to jump on in :D
John61 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Thanks guys Very leased with the Legacy. The only thing I was thinking of doing was to get a service done. It had a small service last April (not Subaru) I phoned a Subaru dealership and they recommend I get a Big service, he said it would be the 48k or 4 years old service. Even though it's around £600 I'm thinking it maybe a good thing.
stants Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Have a look for subaru specialists near you or withing traveling distance, they will save you loads of money and do just as good a job if not better as after all they'll want your custom
John61 Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 Ok thanks I'll have a look I live in Kingswinford West Midlands. If anyone can recommend anyone that would be great.
Mr B Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Worth effort finding decent independent, might as well start now with basic servicing then you will have some gained knowledge for futures jobs if get any. 1
John61 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 Thanks everyone So can anyone help me find a Subaru specialist in the West Midlands. Have been looking but some have seen some bad write ups on reviews I've seen.
stants Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 What about tlag & bip (forum members) garage owners Send him a private message and see what they can offer not to sure where abouts theyy are in relation to you but worth enquiring
Gambit Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I know it sounds silly but I drive 2 hours to goto Martins in Sheffield he's cheaper inc my fuel cost than anyone local to me :( Roughly where abouts do you live ?
majik_thighs Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Welcome my son.........welcome to the machine! Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2
david1972 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 As above....you'll be pleased with your choice for years to come!
Scooby Pete Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 I have to drive at least an hour for any Sccob garages near me. It's worth the journey if you want a good mechanic.
John61 Posted August 16, 2014 Author Posted August 16, 2014 To be honest I don't mind travelling if it's worth it. Anyway the nearest main dealer is almost in Coventry. But I will deff be looking for a specialist rather than a main dealer. Thanks guys.
Gambit Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Id give Tlag a message about it for sure more so if he's near the same time to travel to a main stealers. And legacies specialist has to be them they love them :D
John61 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 Hi Well I've contacted Tlag and he's not in the best of health. He slipped a disc a few weeks ago awaiting possible surgery. He also told me his son doesn't work with him anymore due to getting a better job and that the business was wound up the end of last year. Thanks for the lead anyway. I think I may have found someone only a couple of miles away, D&G Autos Darren & Gavin have their own garage. And Gavin used to work for a Subaru dealership in Stourbridge so fingers crossed. Oh and another plus they both own a Subaru. A legacy and an Impreza
majik_thighs Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 !Removed! hell.........someone else with a disk problem, i`m not alone. :P Actually there`s no such thing as a slipped disk, the disk gets herniated and puts pressure on the nerve. ;)
