and if upgrading headlight bulbs, go for a HID kit, better light output from a 35w bulb than the 100w halogens

sorry, i can see from the avatar it's a non turbo !DOH! now you have said about the length of pipe, there is a chance the forrester is a slightly different shape/size in the bay so the pipe may be longer BUT having said that, all you do is take the part off at the end of the MAF (leaving the MAF on) and fit the filter there, the rest can be the original parts, there's a thread on here somewhere regarding an impreza sport asking the same questions, i have put images on there to describe what i mean with the bulbs, if you take the bulbs out of the clocks they have green rubber caps over normal T10/501 capless bulbs, i just pulled the rubber caps off and have bright lights at night, there are some bulb kits on ebay but it might be cheaper just to buy a load of led replacments, white is the brightest but i'd be tempted to go with the colour of the car, or a contrast say red, if you were having other red parts

as said they do get tappy on start up but no more than a minute or so, start the engine while your looking round it, once youve had a good look if it's still tapping then turn off and walk away as this isn't going to be an easy fix the big ends go for a number of reasons, 1. cheap quality oil and/or infrequent changes 2. not warming the car properly before driving like a hoon 3. taking the car right to the redline in each gear 4. sustained high speed (120mph on a private road for 40 miles) as long as they have been well looked after they will last forever, i bought my impreza with 150k on the clock and when i went to look at it the guy sat on the drive and would let me drive it until it had warmed up properly the forresters are more commonly used in fields by farmers so may have damage underneath, the rear control arm on Dogma's forrester was twisted, not to mention lots of cheap fixes like incorrect bolt sizes (farmers are known for being cheap) thankfully he had a spare impreza to swap parts over from i don't want to put you off, 1 in 10 will be like the above mentioned, not all, take your time and if it seems to good to be true then it probably is all the best with it pal, you won't be dissapointed when you get one

bouncy castle is about the going rate, i'm assuming it's a 15x15 footer or larger? it's just dawned on me that i used to live in Lincolnshire when i was younger, i was about 7/8 at the time, my dad was in the army at Prince William of Gloucester barracks in Grantham, i don't remember much other than the street address and just before we moved there was a house being built at the bottom just outside the barracks that was allegedly Mr Kellog's house

i'm 99% certain that the induction kit from an impreza will fit, Dogma has a forrester and has had a couple of impreza's with the same EJ20 engine and i'm sure he will add that the intake system is the same, if i get chance i will pop round to his house and compare my impreza with his forrester, the only difference that i know of on the 2 engines is the size of turbo, it's my belief that if you got a td04 turbo of a uk turbo 2000 and the ecu and fitted them to the fozzy you would get the 208bhp the impreza has

the guy i know has a version 6 classic, and a stunning one at that

theres a K&N Typhoon lit and an Apollo kit again by K&N, both are good kits and will give good gains, theres also the Apexi dual funnel Power Intake, this is regarded as one of the best filters for jap cars at the moment, all can be found on the net, watch out for copy Apexi filters on ebay, thers a few knocking about apparantly *edit* and if you decide to lower the car, the cheapest option is impreza suspension, it all swaps over and all that's needed is swap the impreza top mounts to forester top mounts on the rears

welcome to the forum fella, theres becoming a bit of a following for the forester now as for the induction kit, if you look for one for an impreza of the same age it is the same 2.0 N/A engine in the sport imprezas with regards an exhaust, with a N/A car you will get a gain with the induction and exhaust mods just not as much as a turbo does the car have the scooby rumble noise to it? if not then get an unequal length exhaust manifold and it will give you the rumble, don't get a huge bore system all the way through as this will lessen the power, most people think the bigger the bore then better the power gain, this is only true with forced induction, with a normally aspirated car they run better with a set amount of back pressure in the system, i don't know the bore of the stock system but if you are getting stainless setup you only need to go a half inch over the standard bore, the back bos can be as big as you like, also if you take the cats off this will be less restrictive too, with a cat back stainless .5" over whats on and the induction kit you should see between 15-30bhp dependant on what system an kit you choose, with a decat you could gain another 10 on top of that, make sure you keep the cats for mot time though unless you know a tester that will let it go

love that colour, i wanted a classic in that shade but they are few and far between, i don't think the rear lights will be to everyones taste but you never know, otherwise a very nice looking car and good price too imo, best of luck with it pal

i spend 20 mins getting all the bits ready for the clean, and if it goes in a forest after a detail it'll just rinse off dead easy afterwards, look at that patch i did on your rear door, the whole car could look twice as good as that

a valeter guy i've known for some years now said i let people off for too much, he charges £300 for the job i do, he uses a machine whereas i use my hands but the only difference there is the end result, he obviously doesnt get the fine swirls in the sun, i can eliminate them to some degree dependant on colour but i do need a machine

Is there an issue with the calipers or do you just want more stopping power? I know from experience that the EBC greenstuff pads are very good, and I have heard good reports on black Diamond predator pads

Lol, same here, we have a massive back garden and I have my own 15x15 foot bouncy castle to keep the kids (and young adults) entertained

I probably do to be fair, but only through the summer time, once it's has a good detailing at the end of summer it doesn't take much maintenance through the colder part of the year so all the driving is caught up with then lol, plus it's more fun driving a scoob in the wet, snow and ice
