So I'm really bad at updating this, so I've picked the car up now, made the long drive down to Plymouth sun was shinning :) Just a few Scoobys outside Few bay pics Even managed 40 mpg on way home Then enjoyed running it in for a bit Underside as I was performing one of the many oil changes Soz about the bad quality Got myself some engine bay bling Going to get a black battery when this one packs up hopefully stand out more [emoji4] Then got my boy a new seat to match the 330s recaros and so he can Handel the g's [emoji23] Then after running in and multiple oil changes it was back to Plymouth for mapping [emoji16] https://vimeo.com/159690789 Mapped on ecutek soft wear [emoji1362]with flat shift a launch mode [emoji16] So here's the results So red is low boost just s on the si drive and blue is hi ish boost at 22psi s# on the si drive so can just swap between :) Martyn said I'm really being held back by the standard intercooler so we're restricted to 22psi too because of the cooler but I'm happy with the figures considering I've got standard cat back top mount and air box [emoji1362] hopefully getting a mishimoto top mount next week then I will be going back Lil vid in action how it just sounds like a jet it's a real silent assassin https://vimeo.com/159691328 Recorded from my mates modded blob sti Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

All the Subaru patch did was lower the Rev limit by 500 rpm as the standard map is crap as the was somthing towards the top end of the Rev range ,I think the tgvs used to shut and lean the engine out putting huge strain on internals tbh the patch will not improve reliability of the motor maybe just provide you with a placebo . Really you need an ecutek or similar software installed which will help knock protection and also replace any of the dodgy subie map, also look into getting an aos ( air oil separator) mishimoto do a nice kit .. to begin with this will help but inevitably you need to be thinking about getting Pistons , head studs, bearings and gaskets done wich is in the ball park of 3k. Newbie 2L N/A to a 2.5 turbo swap advice needed
kershaw-330s replied to danielb186's topic in General Subaru Chat
You will probably need to run syvecs because of the avcs systems so could end up quite expensive. You need to talk to a tuner and see what they say . Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk -
Are you going oe or aftermarket clutch? .. I wouldn't go lightened fly on an oe clutch they do give a performance gain . but the drive ability is dramatically effected especially on the over run in low gears. You will also get this with an uprated clutch but with aftermarket clutches they have bigger anti judder springs to help prevent this .. With an uprated clutch you are likely to get chattering when at very low revs too but you soon adjust your driving style to minimise noise Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

300lbft Newage WRX - wanting 11's!
kershaw-330s replied to KG Tuning's topic in Subaru Build Threads
I'm sure U need to ditch unsprug mass to a hive those times on 300lbft so lower arms track rod ends get aftermarket ones and wheels get the lightest you can ie team dynamics or oz and I know . This isn't unsprung but also you going to need a carbon prop Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk -
So then it's turbo time . I chose an engine tuner own specd turbo it's a gtx2871 with an 11 blade billet wheel and uprated ceramic bearings. I'm unsure of the precise specs but I told them I wanted ultimate response and around 400hp. As I wanted to maintain the oe centre section, prodrive back box . And I'm still running the standard intercooler and airbox, mainly because of budget and I didn't want it to be really loud unfortunately these are the only pics I've got You can also see the competition clutch stage two clutch on in these pics :) Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

Unfortunatly the 2.5 stis do tend to go pop either head gasket or ringland failure like mine did :( .. I don't think the forester is as bad tho because they run lower power .. What model forester do you have ? Look into getting an aos kit ( air oil separator) they're what a lot of people do to try and prolong the life of the standard engine a well sorted 2.5 is a peach. the extra torque compared to the 2.0 is great :) although People over here tend to say even when built they're only really good for 500-600hp in the states there are two IAG built 2.5s running over 1000hp and loads of 700+ whp cars being daily driven so it can't be all that bad . Although in the us they've had the 2.5 since the blob eye shape so they do have slot more experience with tuning it compared to the uk we just tend to do a 2.35 conversion because it's try'd and tested .. So time for another update lots of pics all the engine work done now [emoji51] From these you will see one of the main reasons I picked "engine tuner" to take on the work. Here's the heads look like new So clean you could eat of them [emoji51] Some pics of the trial fitment of the bottom end [emoji14] Then it was apart again off for any corrective machining if needed .. Now it's time for final fitment .. You can see the RCM super stopper gaskets [emoji14] Fresh looking oil pan Ready for timing Timing done look how clean [emoji41] Now ready for ancillaries Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

I believe you may have been misinformed I know for a fact the jdm cars are a ej207 with twin scroll equal length headers and the intercooler water spray in boot. I was chatting to a guy on Sunday at the surry meet who had one .. Stunning car [emoji1362]. Any internet Search will confirm my statement too . The U.K. Cars how ever is a 2.5 and very similar to the hatch sti engine and usdm cars since 02 have been using the chocolate engine .. But not the jdm car it's a peach [emoji1360] Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

I know this sounds basic but have u tryed just disconecting the battery for 10 mins then reconnect , this should wipe the codes and then see if it comes back .. What were you doing when the light came on ? .. Also could be your handbrake shoes are low I assume it uses the hand brake not sure .. Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

I don't believe the worst engine is in the jdm hawk because that's an ej207 and that's the good one [emoji6] Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk

Was the hatch not a wrx so would've been an ej20 ?? So really the same could happen to the blob I'm confused nice swap tho .. If You got any hatch parts still kicking about drop me a pm [emoji6] Sent from my Nokia 3310 using Tapatalk
