Dashcams, show us your view!
Which is the £180 one Stants? The others I've seen have been a huge jump up in price - talking £250+ I'm not that bothered about all the features either really. Just going on a lot more group road trips now and want to be able to film them - like the Wales one I was on recently and the up coming Buttertubs Pass. So as long as it can film them in good quality and it can pick up the burble and pops and bangs I'm happy. :) I was going Go Pro too as it has such a good reputation. I've been burnt too many times going for cheaper or slightly more expensive but feature packed alternatives and them ending up being rubbish or a pain to use in comparison.

Subaru Newbie Turbo 2000
Yea sounds like a dud battery that Gambit. On more than one occasion I've not run mine for 2 weeks and it's still started at the first turn as well. That was over Winter too and we know how much batteries don't like cold weather. Good to hear your charging problem is sorted Ash.

Has anyone got any footage using a GoPro Hero - the 2014 entry level £100 version? With sound taken from recording? Im thinking of buying one would just like to see some examples of what it's like from anyone on here if possible.

Subaru Newbie Turbo 2000
Yea, I've heard that's a common problem with the newage engines - which yours has in it if I remember rightly? That's why youll see a lot of bugs and blobs running with side lights on even in bright sunshine. That should be all it is. Like I say, heard of this problem a lot.

Sheffield Monthly Meet PICTURES are up

WALES....THE TRIANGLE
This was brilliant, anyone that could have come that didn't you missed out big time. The organisers managed to swindle a lap on the go Kart track with out cars at the meeting point then we had some amazing drives on some amazing roads. The weather was perfect as well. Nice cold air for the engines but also nice and sunny with no rain. The routes were brilliant with some amazing scenery. Great bunch of people. Can't recommend these meets enough, very well organised. Some pics - https://www.facebook.com/nick.foulstone.18/media_set?set=a.433797420103326.1073741830.100004192154481&type=3 Wales is a beautiful. Great scenery and the roads are better kept than ours. Really nice and twisty and they haven't been ruined by 50 limits and speed cameras yet. I'll definitely be visiting again :)

Afraid so mate. Sponges rub the dirt and grit into the paintwork whether new or not. Microfibre cloths and lamb wool mitt ( :) ) lift the crap away from the paint and can be reused. And as has been said before the people 2 bucket method is to have one with water to collect the crap and the other has nice clean soapy water to wash the car with without putting grit and dirt back onto the car. Works best with those bucket grit catches too. Sorry to sound a **** with it but it definitely helps the paintwork hold up and I noticed a definite improvement in scratches and swirls when polishing after using these methods.

You're all !Removed! up if you're using a sponge and not a microfibre cloth. May as well stick to one bucket, sponges are the worst thing to wash the car with.

WALES....THE TRIANGLE
Yep, I got the invite to this on FB too. I signed up immediately, I've always wanted to do the triangle and the last meet like this SP.UK arranged like this was awesome. Never seen so many Scoobs on the road at once, was a picture seeing peoples faces as we drove by :) Hope the weather holds out.

Sheffield Monthly Meet PICTURES are up
I'll be there as usual, especially if Gems cakes and buns are making another appearance :) I'd be up for another mini meet too beforehand. Matt - no mate. Any "sensible" people who can follow the above rules can come I think. Used to have them from a couple of Scooby clubs turning up, a few of which who have moved on from Scoobs too.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Just picked my car up after getting the rust treated. Cut out roughly a square inch of metal, can't even tell it's been done. Matched the arch shape perfectly. Unfortunately it's too dark to properly check the paint match, under torch light it looks spot on though. Will update after this weekend when I've seen it in the proper light and washed it. I've also had Anti lag installed, sounds ace :D : D

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Not today but on Wednesday I had my up-pipe heat wrapped. Had the heat shield removed a few months ago and due to the location of the up pipe (close to cylinder 3) decided it was best not to leave it kicking all it's heat out onto the engine and in the engine bay. Looked one hell of a job to get to, thank god I got SSS to do it for me. Found my downpipe had no gasket between it and the turbo too. Thought it sounded a tiny bit "blowy" at low revs. Turns out it was this. Also feels slightly sharper now too. Win, win :) Today I've just dropped it off to get my rear arch sorted. Hope the result is good, I know the paint isn't easy to match on these especially at almost 12 years old.... Fingers crossed. Still, better than letting the rust spread.

**** gaulson! Sorry to see that mate. Glad you're ok apart from some sore bones though. Hope it's not as big a job to sort as it looks... As for mine, just had MOT done - a week late since I totally forgot about it - could really do with a reminder, road tax style - but all good now. Passed with no advisories. Set up a reminder in my phone calendar now though so hopefully won't happen again haha. Also booked in to get my up pipe heat wrapped on Wednesday since I had to take the heat shield off a short while ago. Got it booked in the week after to get the tiny rust part of my rear arch cut out, new metal in and sprayed and all arches and underside sealed too.

24th January South Yorkshire Meet.
Haha cheers! Stroke of luck with the poor light capture on my iphone camera :) Hopefully not mate. Like I say, I'll test it next time im out but I'm pretty sure that's all it is since it's fine under hard acceleration any other time and that is a known issue with them. I'd just forgotten at that time. No, did stop for a short while after the cut though and he's not exactly slow lol. Guessing he'll have made it to a petrol station before he ran out since I didn't see him stranded at any point on the way back :)

alarm/immobiliser reccomendations
Is this for your STi? Is it an import? Only reason I ask is that the UK Newages have very strong Cat 1 alarm and immobilisers as standard. Remember there's the keypad code entry doodah thingy you can set up too if you want extra security. And get a good steering lock. There's also a fuel cut method, I'd prefer you to PM me about that one though as it's not something we want to be too well known as obviously the thieves will know how to sort it then. Can't you just get a spare key from your local Scoob dealership if that's what your mainly after?

24th January South Yorkshire Meet.
Great day was had! Had a good drive and good food :) Apologies again to Ash, Tom and Stants for being late. Especially Tom and Stants who were stood out in cold on hills for 30 mins waiting! Couple of pics. Washed car as soon as I got home as it was basically white from the salt. Nice and shiny again now :) Had a bit of a scare on the way home too, after going round a corner and accelerating hard she cut out... Expect it was a fuel cut as it'd reached just under a quarter on the fuel gauge. I remember reading this could happen when buying but had forgotten as I normally never let it drop that low. Gave it some hard acceleration on the straight areas on the way home and it was ok so hoping that's all it is. Filled her up before heading home and will test again next time I go out for a drive.

What have you done to your Subaru today ?
Left my work drill on the last job :( luckily it's only 30 minutes away from home in an area called Dore up on hills. Got a good few inches of snow up there. Went in the Scoob and took the main roads there, aaaaarrrgggghhh!!! The salt!!! :( :( could hear it hitting the car almost all the way there. Decided to take the back roads back to avoid it on the way home. First time I've used it properly in the snow since I avoid driving as much as poss in winter due to the salt. Holy ****, that was one of the most terrifying and equally fun drives I've ever had! As soon as I hit any kind of boost at any time the back end slipped out. Even on the straights. I left the pub car park where I last worked and picked my drill up from completely sideways anyone who says they've drive these in the snow and it never slipped or went once must have winters tyres on or aren't putting there foot down enough haha! Because mine with its normal tyres on was all over the place, but in a controllable way still as long as I didn't go mad and keep my foot in :D Only problem was, due to the aforementioned tyres, it's useless at stopping! Had one big fright going down a steep bit where it just wasn't stopping and I was looking at going straight into a T junction and possibly the wall. Luckily managed to stop just in time by pumping the brakes with light pressure and finding the thicker bits of snow. Quite impressed with myself how I handled the situation haha. Still, any downhill parts after that I took at a granny pace. Didn't get stuck once either. One of the most surprising moments was when I stopped at the top of a steep hill (give way) which had loads of snow on it and when I pulled off it didn't struggle at all. Very impressed at that, especially since it has the wrong tyres on :) Needless to say, after all this when I got home my heart rate was raised slightly ;) absolutely brilliant fun. Just got to clean the salt off tomorrow now. May just give it a quick wipe off though since I'll be going on that meet on Saturday so will no doubt end up with loads more on and give it a good clean after that.
